    Water bottles everyone
    Aboard the yacht did see;
    Water bottles everywhere
    Nor any drop to drink.

  2. This is one of those things which does have an element of truth to it. Sailing from Hawaii to Victoria in a 45ft sailboat, we encountered large areas of the ocean wherein plastic debris in the form of garbage bags, semi-submerged pop bottles and other plastic containers of various sorts were visible as far as the eye could see. The debris certainly wasn’t as densely packed as in the Manila harbour photo, but it was a rude shock. We sailed through it for several days.

  3. One need only look at a recent example – where Clinton’s comment about Trump ISIS videos is shown to be false, yet instead of apologizing or backing down, she doubles down with the lie in subsequent comments – to see there is no honesty or honour, let alone professionalism in the mediocracy or their progressive fellow travelers and assorted snake oil salesmen rent seekers.
    The truth in media isn’t dead, it’s extinct.

  4. Yup.
    Funny how the ocean gyre plastic Island was nowhere to be seen during the ariel and satellite search for Malaysian Air..
    Like Dr D says there is a bit of plastic, but the tale grows..
    Best eco-fish story yet.

  5. On a related note: why not turn indian reservations into garbage dumps? It is not like anyone would ever notice?
