Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Hopefully, the “Law” Society is sued for costs. This was an abuse of their position and they should be required to pay damages as well.
well it is about time the lawyers get their backsides kicked. Seems to me some Christian principles need to be injected into a profession that is the poster girl/boy for truth twisting, avarice, and bad behavior.
I guess next thing you know the Law Society of BC will be appealing to the SCC
And people wonder why us ‘rubes’ don’t trust judges and the Supreme Court to oversee the judicial system. They blatantly disregard the law for PC reasons. Social Justice Warriors should not be in charge of the REAL justice system.
Justine was unavailable for comment.
One tiny victory in a huge battle that is getting increasingly difficult to win ground in. Will this go to the Supreme Court, probably, what will they decide?….don’t get your hopes up.
My only concern is this will set a precedent for the creation of Islamic law schools.
Fellow SDA readers, don’t view the glass as half empty.
This is an important victory against the evil “progressive” mindset. And remember, nothing important was ever gained without a fight, so we must all keep fighting.
There would be nothing wrong with a Muslim law school. That’s the whole point. Private religious beliefs do not disqualify you from public employment. A Muslim can think women should wear a hijab but a criminal lawyer who states that in court would be in trouble. We should be judging people on their ability to do the job and punishing them for their actions, not their private thoughts. Lawyers, secular, Christian, or Muslim, must all abide by the same code of ethics.
Ezra Levant deserves a great deal of credit for leading the charge on this file.
TWU has been to the Supremes before regarding teachers certificate and won.
Cost them a million bucks to go.
I’m all for Islamic Law Schools; it’s just that I want there to be zero enrollment.
I think schools of “Sharia Law” was meant, not secular law schools with an all-Moslem enrollment.
BTW, oddly enough if you replaced the Christian sword on the B.C. Law Society’s seal with an Islamic scimitar, the scales of justice would lean to one side.

The B.C. teachers federation didn’t want any graduates of TWU to be allowed to teach in B.C., I don’t know what ever happened to that case.
The standards of education are from all I’ve heard, very good, but they aren’t politically correct,so the law society and the teachers hate them.
This is good news though, one small ray of sunshine in a cloudy couple of months.
Islamic law schools good?!? — Qum again?
gee, I would post that I support this out come, butt then that would probably cause some heads to explode:-))
Sharia Law is outside of Canadian law. TWU wants to train lawyers to work within Canada’s system of laws and follow established constitutional rules.
Big difference.
Sharia Law allows muslims to ignore the Canadian legal system so they can resurrect slavery, rape infidel women, chop off heads, and mutilate genitalia. Muslims don’t care about observing Canadian law. And they have their poodles in place in parliament and the SCC who will enable the operation of Sharia law, constitution and law of the land be damned.
So your comment – and I am not trying to be rude here – really ain’t about one school vs. another. It isn’t about the rules. But I do see the point you are trying to make.
This really is huge. its greatnews for christians and all freedom lovers.
These eco-freaks need to be sued for spewing all tise Global Warming/Climate Change poppycock to the school kids in their text books or their issues of Weekly Reader
The law society got caught in what’s known as “scope creep”. It should stick to doing its job.
“This is good news though, one small ray of sunshine in a cloudy couple of months.”
Exactly! There is still a vestige of freedom not presituted by Marxism in some areas.
Good for TWU and John Carpay. Carpay is a tireless fighter for freedom.
I thought “scope creep” was a bum drunk on mouthwash…
