I was particularly interested in their argument on how the “threat” to Canada manifested itself. How exactly does “science” show that a modest increase of temperature would severely damage Canada?

Over the last couple of million years the normal climate in Canada is ice sheets two to three kilometres thick. It is obviously dangerous to Canada to have had our strategic ice reserves decreased in this fashion over the last 10,000 years. The government needs to take immediate action to start the ice sheets moving again, which will also have the benefit of scraping up the oilsands and pushing them south of the US border so they won’t pollute Canada any more. Of course, these payments will be under the guise of fairness and saving the planet.

And to guarantee that the economy stops, he has basically given the decsions to develop resources over to the natives. That is Butts’ goal. Trudeau is just the puppet he is using to get his will done. And Trudeau isn’t smart enough to realize it.
The only thing I can see that Trudeau has achieved on his own, without relying on his name or hhis inheritance is beating up a substance abusing Indian to the applause of liberals across the country.

I wrote to Environment Canada to point out that these two had a conflict of interest in producing a piece of political propaganda as “research”. I pointed out that it was a pack of lies as satellites show no warming for almost 19 years. I also pointed out that a warmer Canada would be beneficial.
It has been known that subtle “ridicule” can destroy an Empire. The 2 degree target is that part of the science that needs astute explaining such that everyone knows how to recognize insignificant nonsense.
I think the Paris party will result into a Political push; It’s the “MORAL” right thing to do (Pope leading).. Those countries that put up money for Gore INC will has to sell the NEW agenda at home.

Something doesn’t add up in the story you linked to. They quote the Federal spending at 650k for over 300 people, breaking it down to 48k for flights and 200k for accommodation. That means around $666 per person for what, over a week stay in Paris and $160 for round trip air fair? Butts is a factor, but I strongly suspect there are also international (possibly UN affiliated) agents calling some shots. This may be well disguised . . . even to Trudeau, but many of the things that are coming down the pipe will be closely aligned with the UN Agenda 21 (or 2030). Ouranos is a private non-profit company with $10 million in resources, 14 full time employees and 5 affiliates. They don’t say where they get their funding from, but funding seems pretty good at $500,000 per employee.
I recall years ago a number of Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) employees moonlighting as consultants for private industry. I had a few beers with one senior scientist would had no problem with government employees doing private consulting and even piggy-backing the government expenses onto their consulting (government pays you to fly from Ottawa to Vancouver to offer free consulting and you stay behind a few days for a paid gig).
I wonder if our government scientists are also moonlighting with these well funded private companies who then use the expertise of our government employees to raise money and pay the scientists as consultants.

Actually a few years ago, even the warmists were admitting that a slight warming in temperature would be beneficial for Canada — longer growing season, less severe winter. Regarding Canada being ‘awarded’ the ‘Fossil of the day’ again – when will people realize that trying to appease the hard left never has and never will work.
