I agree that a forceful response to ISIS and any terrorist allies it may have is required. Instead, Obama is going to announce the release of several more Gitmo terrorists and try to finish it off — presumably based on the theory that a campaign promise, no matter how idiotic, is worth keeping, even if all the evidence and prudential reason suggest doing the opposite.
And so, the “West” looks to Putin to do its dirty work and stand up to terrorists in a way that they understand.
All of which suggests that 100-200 years from now, the Russians, Chinese and Indians will dominate the world and the West/America will be remembered as yet another civilization that fell apart because it lacked the will to defend itself and continue its existence.
(Unless, of course, enough people see the writing on the wall and opt for strong conservative leadership in the US next year and beyond.)
