  1. In the event of anything other than a Harper majority, the left will come to power either via the electorate or via coalition shenanigans.
One of their very first acts will be to sign the Paris accord this December. Signing that will be signing away Canada’s economic, technological and national sovereignty.
Energy policy and control of Carbon will be in the hands of the UN IPCC. Treaty will allow IPCC governance over signatory nations, which means it will sit above elected governments.
That is how one world government will come into being. there will still be national governments representing various parties across the globe. However they will not have final say in the governance of the nations they were elected to govern.
Final say will be with UN IPCC.
They control will control carbon and every single thing in our lives has a carbon footprint.
And for those who think we will get a chance to reverse this, I doubt that since plans are now afoot to make dissenting against the religion of AGW a crime.
I would not be surprised to see Steyn lose his slam dunk case against Mike Mann and end up imprisoned. That would send a strong message to those who think free speech is important.
Monday is end game for true democracy.

  2. It’s funny when someone on the “right” says someone else on the “right” supports social justice just because they refuse to put all trust into a snake politician that just lies and uses power and money to try and oppress the citizenry. That must mean that the first guy must be so far past the “right” that he can’t even see it anymore. You know who else is like that the extreme far left. So enjoy being one of the sides of the same coin. Like this site used to say a while ago “Not showing up to riot is a failed conservative policy”, that coin needs to be flatted and melted.

  3. And since this is rant thread I will post my rant to Mr Conrad Black on his absurd endorsement of Justin Trudea
    Dear Mr Black.
I will be short and to the point re to your column endorsing Trudeau. Should Trudeau be elected directly, or install himself into power in a leftist coalition that would supplant a Harper minority, it will set the stage for Canada’s full blown support of the Paris Accord in December.
Once Canada becomes a signatory to that Accord we will have given up our national sovereignty. (Harper will not sign Canada’s sovereignty away, so I pray he will be re-elected.)
But also as a bonus, it will set the stage for the establishment of laws making climate change denial /dissent /blasphemy illegal. The groundwork is already being laid to criminalize climate denial under the RICO act – and you are very familiar with how this act can be abused.
Steyn is currently fighting a one man battle against Big Climate in the US courts that will ultimately decided whether we have free speech or not, and Big Climate cannot afford to lose this case. It won’t if Canada is signatory to Paris.
This trial has been delayed for years by the Big Climate side, I suspect until such a time as they can set the stage to ensure they will prevail over Steyn. That day will arrive beginning with the removal of Harper from power, and Canadas validation of the Paris accord. (99% of Canadians have no idea Steyn is actually in a fight for his and our freedom)
Ironically Steyn was the one of the only journalists in Canada to report on the political persecution you received at the hands of a wholly corrupt US political/ court system.
The rest of Canada’s media – to a man – regurgitated the Anti Conrad Black propaganda throughout the trial. As such you are likely a more hated man in Canada than Harper is, for the very same reason. Nothing to do with guilt or innocence or action, but a full blown unified and concentrated attack from the left – media, judiciary and regulatory bodies.
The media knew precisely what they were doing when they assisted in the destruction of your name, company and legacy. It was an all out propaganda attack to ensure you were isolated from any national sympathy. Omar Khadr has a better image in Canadians minds than you do thanks to the media.
Ezra Levant stumbled across the fact that the 6000 strong Canadian Media Guild registered with Elections Canada as a third party to campaign against Harper to ensure he is removed from power. Do you suppose that the CMG are going to achieve this by placing lawn signs in the evening after their day jobs of writing fair and factual columns about Harper? Or might they use every weapon in their media arsenal to demonize Harper? Just as they have been doing for the last decade.
So now here you pile on with the rest of the corrupt Canadian media – who made you a pariah with the average rank and file Canadian – with a goal of removing Harper from power. All because you have an apparent personal dislike for Harper.
So now it appears the media will successfully achieve their goal, and we shall begin our fourth term of a Chretien led Liberal government. Of course the face of it will be Justin Trudeau, but that is the only purpose this narcissistic man child will serve.
The fraud that is Climate Change will be written into law, and those who will or have opposed it will be criminalized. And Steyn will be one of the big game targets the left will take down in exactly the same fashion they did to you. Others who dare stand up to Big Climate will either abandon their fight or end up along Steyn.
I weep for the future my children are about to face, for there will be no undoing the damage that is about to be done.
Once the radical progressive left controls the worlds life blood – carbon -which they will after Paris – they will control humanity – not the weather.
Had you still had a media empire to fight back against such a brazen grab for world power, the populace might be better educated about what is transpiring.
Part of the reason you and your company were targeted and destroyed in my opinion.
Steyn is still fighting. Too bad you switched sides. Maybe you can visit him in prison.

  4. Robert W. The great irony of Trudeau senior is that his father, with whom I also had great disagreement but never hated in the deranged manner of the Harper haters, would have told the niqab wielding Islmaist activist to get the f**g out if she didn’t like our rules. He was an economic fool and illiterate, but had no agreement with rabble rousers like the niqab idiot, despite his multicultural policies.

  5. I voted for my local Conservative candidate in the advance poll. I donated money to his campaign. I talked up voting for Harper with (smarter) friends and acquaintances. Those who actually make a living (and especially those who have to make a payroll as well) “get it.” Those who are not in that group, just don’t. And most of the latter are engaged in such a vituperative hatred of PM Harper that reason goes out the window.
So what will happen tomorrow? I am hopeful, but more anxious than in 2011, and maybe more than 2008. I think the Angus Reid poll which had the Liberals ahead by 4 among “eligible voters”, but tied with the CPC among “likely” voters indicates something. I think EKOS does too. Nanos and the others are (I hope) simply wrong. Earlier in the campaign, I looked inside one pollster’s figures and noted they oversampled younger voters. By 8% compared with what Elections Canada says the proportion of voters under age 30 actually amounted to in the last couple of elections. That tilted the figures a lot — an automatic 2-3% boost for the LibDems and a corresponding decrease to the CPC (and, interestingly enough, the BQ, which has become an older voter party in Quebec).
As for the media — I’m disgusted. They are (almost all) leftists. They don’t have the decency to admit it. Early in the campaign, as I drove home, I noticed that all the signs at a street corner nearby had been knocked down (and not by the wind…..). Someone was putting the NDP and CBC Votes signs back up. I thought…… wow…… not even an attempt to pretend that they are different. The Media Guild registering as an election advertiser compounds the problem. The limits on how much parties and third parties can advertise was challenged in the court by PM Harper back when he headed the NCC. The Alberta courts said “Yes, this is a clear restraint on free speech and unconstitutional.” The Supreme Court of Canada said, “No, democracy means not letting voices get drowned out by large sums of money being used to pay for tons of advertising by one side.” The court said it was OK for Chretien to legislate to limit free speech. They ignored that the leftist media give the left a boost all the time, every day in every way. Why? Because with their own rose-tinted glasses, the media seems “objective” and “neutral.” One throws one’s hands up in the air in disbelief.
It makes one wonder why PM Harper didn’t use his majority to sell CBC and all its assets to Quebecor. Why allow the SunTV experiment to rise and fall with CBC and CTV having mandatory carry rules for all cable companies for them and nothing similar for another viewpoint? If things go poorly tomorrow, Conservatives will have to reflect on that and many other opportunities missed to truly change society for the better. If things go well, we should work to eliminate unfair bias and tilting towards leftists and make for a society where freedom and opportunity are valued more than government handouts and regulation.

  6. Look ma, no brains. What a friggin idiot:
“Stephen Harper has lost the moral authority to govern, says former PMO lawyer. Perrin worked in the PMO back in 2013, and was part of the staff that dealt with the scandal surrounding Sen. Mike Duffy’s contested living expenses. But Perrin very publicly broke ranks with the government this August when he testified at Duffy’s fraud and breach of trust trial. He said that Harper’s most senior aide Ray Novak was told about former chief of staff Nigel Wright’s secret repayment of Duffy’s $90,000 in expenses. Novak, who currently works as a senior campaign director, has denied that, and Harper has backed his version of events.”
Some “secret.” Giving money to the taxpayers, no wait is that an “investment?” Could it be you were called a liar in court? This is supposed to make sense?
“Perrin is a University of British Columbia law professor, and is currently on parental leave.”
Oh, that helps explain it. Do they actually suck the brains out of these academics? Sheesh. Anyway, who cares what these fools think, that we haven’t heard it all from the HDS crowd?

  7. A casual acquaintance is afraid of either Trudeau or Mulcair being in charge, but he can’t vote for PMSH because he hates PMSH’s personality. Nothing to do with policy or good government, strictly his personality. He said I will throw my vote away to the green party.
Mid sixties, white male, worked all his life and is now retired. Such a shallow and selfish reason.

  8. Trudeau said outright that he would run deficits.
    That’s debt.
Who would max out their credit cards, empty their bank accounts and not pay rent/mortgage in hopes that it would build a successful household?
If First World countries like Norway and Australia see how futile carbon taxes are, why would Canada adopting them make sense?
The Conservatives promised to aid North Korean refugees who will be vetted, do not hide their identities, will speak English and not work for Islamist organisations like a certain unvetted, face-covered sharmuta has. Trudeau admires the very dictatorship- China- that forcibly returns these refugees.
However imperfect the Tories may be, the alternatives are much, much worse.

  9. Probably has more to do with the fact that the Conservatives are left with the messes that the Liberals created. The same nonsense is being puked up by the CBC in regard to deficits but as is the usual scam of the CBC (and the left in general) is that they seem to forget that that Conservatives were left with very high interest payments on the debts created by the Liberals. That game was shot down a long time ago.

  10. I believe that in Quebec, the Conservatives have promised to block the sewage dump. No commitment on that from other parties as far as I know. I guess they may be too busy worrying about global warming (with snow in the area today!) to be worried about sewage in the local river. Shocking when you think about it.

  11. Conrad Black is a fatally flawed elitist. He is somehow part of that central Canadian power elite that accepts the natural governing party. Harper is not part of that and is seen as an interloper while the Spawn comes to it genetically. Black is a big fan of progressives (FDR etc). He was likely a pleasant guy to work for but his history in the business world is one of failure. I consider him to be a poor source of judgement for the choice of PM. When reading his various articles one finds agreement with perhaps three quarters before he goes off the rails completely.
Despite otherwise intelligent people to the contrary, how Harper handles his caucus and interacts with a hostile media should be of little concern when comparing him to his competition and the seriousness of real issues.

  12. They are offended at his meeting with Ford but not a peep of outrage that Justine’s campaign manager was allegedly practicing influence peddling before Justine wins the election. Am I the only one considering filing formal complaints against the filth that passes for journalism and journalist? Perhaps it’s time to file formal complaints against the organized Conservative hating media.

  13. I also love how Harper was forced into big deficits by the opposition during his minority government. Then they make him wear it. It took 3 years of his majority work down the deficit into a surplus. You can’t do it in one year without brutalizing the economy.

  14. Thanks. Rita — most interesting and in line with my take on things. Another point to add is that in one of Lord Monkton’s videos recently making the rounds, he refers to some UN guy actually bragging about plans to get rid of Tony Abbot and Stephen Harper (the two politicians they were having difficulty controlling). You can bet there is Soros and other globalist money being used in our election. There seems to be lots of money available for anti-Harper spin, “strategic” voting initiatives and things like that “Stop Harper” girl being hired to get out the youth vote. So who is paying for all of this quasi-political activism. The globalists are bound and determined to replace Harper. They will also be manipulating the naive Justin should he gain power. The globalist agenda will come into play and Canada will gradually lose its sovereignty. Justin I think has already promised to align with UN gun control measures. Really, a Harper loss would be a very, very BIG loss for Canada.

  15. I hope you’re right, but one thing I know to be an absolute truth… The left puts ideology above all else. That includes their province and country.

  16. Its either a minority or a majority.
If its a minority, the poker player beats the charm school grad everytime.
If its a conservative majority or liberal majority the rating agencies will provide an indication of whether the country just dodged a bullet or is headed over a cliff.
The reality is that currency trading has become vastly sophisticated and much faster than in 1980.
The market reaction to the election result will be felt faster and those bond rating agencies will also let Canadians know in no uncertain terms if they chose wisely or not.
No I’m not worried by the way.

  17. Monopoly Money won’t pay pensions. Every Canadian, unionized with a pension, RRSP, or just CPP should know that what trudeau or mulcair promise will drive interest rates UP and the TSX DOWN. All pensions are invested in Canadian, dividend paying equities. Only a few have outside property.
First felt in downtown Tranna, when Fat Tony in New York phones the Wynne government when Her Boy climbs up in the Big Chair (should it happen). A 1/4% rate hike will whack a lot of people with marginal coverage. A $600 a year hike to their mortgage payments will put them out of business. It won’t be just one 1/4% rate hike though. When government is the biggest customer for cash (borrowing, remember Rae Ontariowe?) then they become the biggest driver of interest rate hikes & inflation. There is nothing standing behind our dollar right now and our best trading partners know it.
Funny eh? Another Trudeau at the helm? This script has been written before.

  18. I am Conservative to my bones. Out here in lala land there is Harper hysteria beyond description. What I have noticed is that they parrot what the MSM says, particular what the CBC says. They are being led down the garden path. When I tell them the election goes thru the 905 and Quebec they go friggin crazy, and to just turn it up a notch I tell them that there hard earned tax dollars are going to Ontari-owe as the cupboard is bare. That is why Wynnie is campaigning so hard for jr. Wynne is looking for a revenue stream and this is it, she is betting the house on this election. When I tell them the Americans have inserted themselves in the election they faint with disbelief. I keep asking and I get no answer as to how does their big SUV’s and pickup trucks run on air as we know we don’t want big bad oil here on the left coast.

  19. I believe the Quebec race will truly be the most interesting – it’s in play and the whole niqab thing resonates there like nowhere else. The Bloq thinks they can score points on it but only the CP is in position to do anything about it.
Scoring 20 seats there out of the 75 available doesn’t seem wild eyed to me – it could make the difference for the CP.

  20. Has this person ever met Harper? I have an the guy’s basically just socially awkward. A geek, a nerd, someone who is shy. In short the person you’re talking about is a school yard bully like the rest of the leftist herd.

  21. Attaching Canada’s signature to a treaty is the precise reason that Trudeau cannot legalise marijuana.
We are a signatory to a UN treaty prohibiting legalisation of marijuana.

  22. Just an anecdote from Quebec
The woman I am dating now usually votes liberal.
A couple days ago she saw that Harper made an appearance on a very popular francophone Quebec tv show called : “en mode Salvail” ( Salvail is the host’s last name, who is a “bubbly” and quite funny very popular gay celebrity in Quebec)
Harper then played the piano and sang one song in English and one in French.
After she that she was charmed.
She had new respect for Harper. She used to think he was a cold and “hard” man.
She told me she may even vote conservative tomorrow.

  23. I absolutely refuse to watch any election coverage from the rope-sucking media pukes. Just in time for the election I can watch the election results from the new studio at the Rebel Media. Encourage everyone to tune in to the Rebel Media.

  24. My 18 yr-old gr-granddaughter, who understands the issues better than you obviously, will have to be sworn in tomorrow because her Elections Canada card didn’t arrive and online she was refused because she didn’t have two IDs that met their criteria.
There is no way she would miss the chance to vote in this election. She understands the issues and is eager to cast her vote, which puts you to shame.

  25. Conrad Black has lost his mind. I wrote to him too. Usually he replies but not this time.
All the anti-Harper sentiment is sickening. But Cons will still win.

  26. So sorry Patrick, for offending your very, very thin skin.
Next time, I will take extra special care, in daring to chat with a such a special, precious snowflake, as yourself.
    DA

  27. I have been biting my tongue over a lot of my facebook friends anti-Harper and anti-conservative diatribes. Some I have actually unfriended since that has been ALL they have posted in the past three months. I can’t wait until this election is finally over and things return to some semblance of normal.

  28. Well, despite voting for the Lizard party, at least he is voting, even if mindlessly so.
Still, better than NOT voting……but still complaining, venting, ranting, and raving about “the system”…..
Your friend has the same disease as many down here on the South Island, thinking that Lizard and her acolytes want to “restore democracy” and other such rhetorical nonsense.

  29. “However imperfect the Tories may be, the alternatives are much, much worse.”
That pretty much embodies the sentiments of most here, except those utopian ideologues, who expect perfection and agreement on everything.

  30. CBC, CT, GLOBAL, Toronto STAR, G&M etc., are ALL…. ( SAY IT….. biased ) ….. NEWS SHAPERS and anti CPC!

  31. While not being a direct FB user…..I have watched the filth on my wife’s newstream on her page. The HDS runs strong with a few of her female ‘friends’. My suggestion was to defriend them, as it seemed they were running 24/7 in their misplaced vitriol.
Instead, FB does have decent filters on subject matter. All it took was filtering ‘Liberal’ and ‘Trudeau’, and the garbage and propaganda stopped immediately, without defriending her psychotic, Eastern transplanted ‘friend’ from Ottawa.
My wife finally posted something this morning, rather innocuous, but, simple and to the point. A table, comparing the Spawn with PMSH, namely, their backgrounds (PMSH, humble, Spawn, Silver Spoon mansions), their job experience, their cars (PMSH 2002 Impala, Spawn 1957 Merecedes valued at $1.5 million), etc
Shouldn’t it be clear, even to the LIVs, that Spawn is a walking contradiction, a fraud, a spoiled rich narcissistic brat, who has never held a real job for more than two years, who has NEVER struggled to balance the books, or wait and put off major expenses, just getting by in tough times.
The depths of stupidity in the Canadian public should never be underestimated, look at Morontariowe and their continued toe stubbing with McSquinty, and now the harridan and sociopathic Wynne.

  32. Scar, that’s one of the favourite driveby smears of the illogical leftist posters on the Interwebby.
Of course, anyone paying attention, know the real history. The HDS crowd, always fails to mention the embarassing details, that their troika of misfits, Layton, Dionky and the Traitor, essentially forced that large deficit, and in fact wanted it to be much larger.
So, yes, PMSH, cut have cut it back to zero the next year. If so, the left would have screamed bloody murder at “Harrrrrrrpurrrrrrrrr’s DEVASTATING RECKLESS CUTS!”
The left haters want it both ways, logic does not enter the mindset of those rabid demented partisans of the left.
In a minority government, PMSH actually showed that he listened to the opposition, another canard of the left, oft repeated.
The left is full of brain dead treacherous, duplicitous ideologues, who care not an iota about a fair and just Canada.
Just the fact we have the wealthiest middle class in the world, recently surpassing the US, is another fact LOST on the revisionists of the ideological left.

  33. TransCanada Corp (Gagnier) is invested heavily with Total S.A. (Big Oil) of France in the oil sands.
Total is the largest corporation in France.
Power Corp of Canada is the biggest invester in Total S.A. with billions invested.
Power Corp the power behind the Liberals where Trudeau Sr., Chretien and Martin all worked before and after being P.M.
Where Martin got his Canada Steamship lines from.
Where Chretien’s son in law is co CEO. Where Bob Rae’s brother John is Executive V.P.
Where Justin Trudeau is getting mentoring from.
This Bozomania, unfortunately for Canada, appears to have its roots very much involved in Big Oil Corporations. Gagnier is just a prelude of what is to come.
    props to A Adonia

  34. Wish that had been made into an election sign. Kind of captures the essence of the issue here.

  35. The issues with the last Ontariowe election keep coming to my mind in this election. I hope we don’t drag the rest of the country down the sewer pipes tomorrow.

  36. Far be it for anyone to suggest that the Liberals ever govern differently than they have campaigned. After PE Trudeau campaigned against wage and price controls, he put them in place in 1974. His party defeated Clark in the Commons over a budget that provided for a 25 cent a gallon tax on gasoline to pay for Liberal government debts. After winning the election, they imposed the tax. Chretien ran against NAFTA and the GST and kept them both. He complained loudly about Mulroney/Campbell keeping the increase in health care transfer payments down to a dull roar, then slashed them when he became PM.
Liberals routinely campaign for one this and do another. It is so commonplace in Canadian history that it wouldn’t surprise anyone that many Liberal voters actually rely on it when voting.
Liberal governments also have a passion for hinky tax fiddles for their friends. Remember Scientific Research Tax Credits? Supposed to cost the treasury only a hundred million or so and really encourage scientific research. It cost 20-30 times as much before Michael Wilson shut it down in 1984 when the government changed. The prosecutions and tax investigations for fraudulent pseudo science and scams ran on for years.
Under Chretien the rich friends of the Liberal party managed to put offshore billions and the government winked at it all, while clipping off more and more money from middle class taxpayers here in Canada. Columnists like Diane Francis complained in print about it, but since it was a Liberal government, the rest of the media and elites couldn’t fathom that there was anything amiss.
One could go on (and on and on), but the media prefer not to remind people of things like this and the public have no particular memory of them on their own. It’s sad, but it is true that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
I hope we don’t have to do that and instead reelect the Conservatives. But if not, expect all the crony capitalism, broken promises, lies and corruption that have typified every Liberal government in history. It’s not just deficits that are in their genes.

  37. Conrad Black is a clever word smith and a pretty good historian. He voluntarily relinquished his Canadian citizenship in order to be ‘knighted’ as Lord Black of Cross Harbour in the British House of Lords. His very real and public fight was with chretien over this very issue. Chretien forced Black’s hand on his citizenship. Chretien would not allow a Canadian citizen to be knighted. He invoked some 125 year old obscure law to achieve his purpose. Those two hate each other.
Once Black was paroled in the U.S. he wanted to come back to Canada and Harper looked the other way and let him in – on a temporary basis at first. I’m not sure what his status is at present but I haven’t heard that he is once again a citizen.
As for Black’s business career I think a short inspection of his business dealings will reveal a pattern of chicanery. He was very good at destroying shareholder equity to his own benefit. Yes the U.S. justice system piled on but it’s not like he didn’t have it coming. Canadian law was simply incapable of pursuing him, much like they were with Allan Eagleson. Securities law in Canada is weak and it hurts our ability attract risk capital.
It took the Americans to get Black as well as Eagleson. Following Eagleson’s conviction the old warrior Bobby ‘Boomer’ Baun #21 said, “thank god for the United States of America.” Same might apply to Black.

  38. That is both an encouraging story and a sad story. Too many people judge Harper based on media spin and have no idea what he is actually like. They are angry at some sort of political boogyman, and it is based on sheer fantasy. Maybe Harper has done things that some people object to (eg wheat board or the census), but none if these things warrant the treatment he gets from media and HDS sufferers. It is truly irrational.

  39. Just watching CTV Robert Fife interviewing three party reps; for me it’s deja vu all over again: stomach acid, yelling at the TV… not sure why I even give a sh!t anymore.

  40. Uh Oh, now Craig (Birdman) Oliver is weighing-in. More stomach acid, more yelling at the TV.

  41. If you want change, vote for Mulcair or May.
It you want REAL CHANGE, that a generation or more will regret, vote Trudeau.
Justin sees the niqab as a fashion accessory.
Justin says that Canadians of convenience should not be deported back to their home country if convicted of terrorism or treason.
Justin’s BFF and top adviser, Omar Alghabra was the former director of the Canadian Arab Federation. It has been linked to Hamas and Hezbollah by the federal courts of Canada.
Justin will bring in 25,000 ‘refugees’ with-in 10 weeks of being elected. He will do this by allowing others to provide the security clearance.
What could possibly go wrong ???
    http://justinforpm.ca/

  42. Your best remedy for that is to volunteer in getting out the vote from sunrise to sunset tommorrow. Afterwards pour yourself a tall rum daquiri to celebrate your success!
Don’t let Mr Mem get you down, it’s just his sour puss from drinking spoiled goats milk.
    Cheers
    Hans Rupprecht, Commander in Chief
    1st Saint Nicolaas Army
    Army Group ‘True North’

  43. Fellow left coaster!
I remember well, it was my first vote, when Joe Cluck wanted to raise the gas tax 18c per gallon, PET rallied against it, and low and behold got elected and raised it 25cents per gallon. If people don’t understand Liberal politics, that’s a class lesson 101.
PET and his cronies had some interesting tax chicanery going on around that time. I lived in the Qualicum Beach area at the time, 83-84, and there was a mad rush on to build foundations by the end of the year, for huge tax windfalls. The foundations were supposed to be for MDUs (condos, etc).
Those foundations sat for over 10 years, before they were torn out, on one site. On others, they never got used. Trudeaupian economics.
There are too many examples of Liberal malfeasance and duplicity, from election campaigns to mention. You mention the more recent ones. These are clear and undeniable LIES of the Liberals, yet when presented to others, the HDS takes over, Harrrrrrrrrrrrpurrrrrrrrrrrrrr must go, blah blah blah.
Let’s hope the silent 5% show up, as per previous to prevent the Liberal tear down and loss of sovereignty of this fine country, to another corrupt, duplicitous organization, the UN.
