  8. Actually you would spend life in a Canadian prison for that offense, but not as a Canadian citizen. So no voting in federal elections for you. Just like you would loose permanent residency for a criminal conviction, you would still serve time in a Canadian jail for serious crimes before being deported.

    I promise to respect our country’s rights and freedoms, to uphold our democratic values, to faithfully observe our laws and fulfill my duties and obligations as a Canadian citizen.
    If a new Canadian citizen repudiates this oath by breaking laws specifically laws relating to national security how can any reasonable individual argue that it is incumbent upon Canada to continue our side of the contract?

  18. At first I was convinced this was a typical placebo answer to a leading question where the rubber spine attached to a hair-do thought he’d just tell a special interest audience what they wanted to hear. Typical rhetorical preaching to the converted.
    But then I noticed the inflection in the drama queen’s voice as he attempted to ridicule the common sense of pulling citizenship from convicted terrorists so they can be deported after they serve a life sentence. This rational solution could only be mocked if the speaker has an obviously better alternative.
    Of course no practical alternative to serve both the security of the nation or the security of the non-terrorist immigrant were offered – just more mindless soviet style sloganeering. But this does give a blaringly obvious Freudian insight into Trudeau’s mindset and perspective.
    First, I’m now convinced he is in total denial of the threat Islamist terrorism is to the free world – he is isolated from it so it doesn’t exist, and all his radical commie handlers have told him open borders is the trendy SJW cause to have if he wants to be a rock star on Campus. Damn the security of the nation I want the love and adoration of a pop icon – it’s all about my ego folks!
    Second, I think he really has no idea how immigration in Canada has been corrupted by a whole industry of false identity and immigration fraudsters -the threat of terror cells here is very real as we have seen demonstrated in Ottawa – but again, to this blank boy it is a surreal concept because he is isolated from the fallout.
    The other part of his candor that sent shivers through me was his resolute conviction that IF a law can be abused it WILL be abused. That no doubt came from personal experience learning at the feet of his daddy (Emperor PET the 1st) as Pop and Uncle Fidel enlightened him as to all the legal/legislative ambushes he can invoke to repress his political enemies. He is starkly aware of political/legislative methods of dissent persecution and intends to use them to oppress political/civil/social opposition. He has an entourage of the most dissolute globalist collaborators and political fixers available – all salivating for the levers of power to force their 5th columnist agendas on Canadians.
    I am now more convinced than ever that this man-child is too incompetent, mentally immature an morally conflicted to lead a boy scout troop let alone a nation.

    Two stylistic points on Mr. Trudeau, Jr.’s “talk”:
    1. He attempts to channel his father’s perambulatory “intellectualizing” about public policy matters, which worked well, for a time, for the father, but completely falls flat for the son (the son simply does not have the horse-power to pull it off); and
    2. He is more successful at channeling his father’s sneering condescension for us “others” — I couldn’t stand it from his father, and I feel the same about it from him.
    Aside from which, he can’t even get his syllogisms straight (a syllogism “is a kind of logical argument that applies deductive reasoning to arrive at a conclusion based on two or more propositions that are asserted or assumed to be true.” Source: wikipedia.org).
    In this regard, I find it very odd that he referenced Mackenzie King about the introduction of Canadian citizenship in 1947. I’m pretty certain that the concept of on-going “dual citizenship” was part and parcel of the creation of Canadian citizenship at that time, and might have had, you know, SOMETHING to do with the holus-bolus change of status of Canadians from British subjects to Canadian citizens.
    My late father often told me that he did not become a Canadian citizen until 1947, as he was a British subject for the first 21 years of his life. I’m pretty certain that he did not have a choice, as he was born in this country, but that Canadians born in the UK or other British possessions at the time were supposed to be sort of “grandfathered-in” (no pun intended, as it would be true in many cases; it certainly is in the case of my Dad’s family). As we all know, this sort of circumstance also applied to many folks (who had become British subjects in respect of Canada) from lands not held as British possessions or affiliated with Britain — so, to be fair, the same condition was applied to all.
    This distinction and rule has hung around ever since (and there are some good reasons why it has — take Ted Cruz, for instance), but it seems to me that it has been transmogrified by the tin-foil-hat “We are the world” mentality of the leftist crowd.
    Now, as it happens, Mr. Trudeau, Jr. apparently believes that it was perfectly okay for Parliament to make the distinction under a Liberal government in one set of international circumstances, but completely not okay for Parliament to limit (but in no way erase) that distinction under a Conservative government in a materially different set of international circumstances. In this regard, I note that Mr. Trudeau, Jr. consistently and stubbornly refuses to acknowledge (in an almost religious and “Jurassic Park” sort-of-way), that, um, times may have changed internationally, at least a bit (sarc on).
    A simple litmus test will suffice: “If you love Canada, why not renounce your other (foreign) citizenship?” The convicted terrorist’s choice in the CTV piece makes the answer to that one perfectly clear. What’s less clear, of course, is why Mr. Mulcair and Mr. Dion have not done the same.
    Mr. Trudeau, Jr., IMHO has opened up a can of worms on this one, which is very serious and which will bother a great many people, greatly to his detriment.

  37. The part of the audio clip that I find very interesting is the inflection in the way he says “The Liberal Party believes … because I do.”
    If he were saying that the Liberal Party believes something because he is their leader and they respect his beliefs implicitly, so that the party membership would agree with his beliefs, I think there would have been at least a slight emphasis on the “I” in “… because I do”.
    Instead, the total lack of inflection in that “I” to me indicates that he honestly thinks the Liberal party in totally incapable of independent thought and that he actually thinks for every member of the party, and so he doesn’t even need to ask if everyone in the party agrees with him.
    I certainly don’t think he asked if anyone agreed on this statement.
    Maybe I’m reading too much into his tone of voice, but a drama teacher should be aware of these things.

Harper was asked if he would consider accepting other cultures making laws’ This was within the context of Muslims bringing in Sharia law. Harpers ans. was “There will be one law for all citizens in Canada. The reporter asked the same Question of Trudeau. His ans. We are a Country built on multi- Culturism etc etc.and different Cultures require different Laws. The Reporter no doubt realizing He had asked a verboten question did not ask Him to clarify, but my conclusion was He Said YES to Sharia Law. He has conducted all recruiting of the Muslim vote in Mosques, no reporters allowed. He has beeHAMILLn very successful in cornering the Muslim Bloc vote.
