Reader Tips

In tonight’s entertainment en route to the tips Israeli musician and video artist Kutiman uses sampled snippets of video clips of musicians he’d asked to interpret the city of Tel Aviv and mashes them up into a mesmerizing and remarkable work: Here’s Thru Tel Aviv.
The comments are open, as always, for your Reader Tips.

  1. continuing on a theme, what happens in the wake of an unfettered unregulated banking system, a.k.a. Reaganomics?
you know the republican that fired all those rude air traffic controllers who were well versed in the regulations governing the passenger aircraft business, and did likewise with the junk bond market in his day.

(p.s. end result is the wall street mandarins have it embedded in law that taxpayers will ALWAYS bail them out. how’s THAT for ‘free market’?)

  2. Well, I copied the link from Facebook and the sneering part was the headline, paraphrased ‘he also said g w bush was a good president’

  3. Desperate people call for desperate measures:
“The science on global warming is settled, so settled that 20 climate scientists are asking President Barack Obama to prosecute people who disagree with them on the science behind man-made global warming.
Scientists from several universities and research centers even asked Obama to use the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) to prosecute groups that ‘have knowingly deceived the American people about the risks of climate change, as a means to forestall America’s response to climate change.’
RICO was a law designed to take down organized crime syndicates, but scientists now want it to be used against scientists, activists and organizations that voice their disagreement with the so-called “consensus” on global warming. The scientists repeated claims made by environmentalists that groups, especially those with ties to fossil fuels, have engaged in a misinformation campaign to confuse the public on global warming.”

  4. “prosecute groups that ‘have knowingly deceived the American people about the risks of climate change,”
I hope their wish comes true.

  5. The tolerant Left
    ——————————-
Someone had posted “White Only” and “Black Only” signs near several bathrooms and water fountains in Clemens Hall.
And then, Ashley Powell, a black graduate student, stood up in the meeting to admit she had hung the signs, claiming it was part of an “art project,” The Buffalo News reports.

  6. I think it is the new editor. I have always thought the Post was pretty balanced — often presenting two views on an issue and some great columnists. They have definitely taken a turn to the left. So now we get pieces from Margaret Atwood and Tabitha Southey along with side swipes at Conservatives in the headlines. A once great product is being ruined step by step.

  7. It would be nice, but I don’t think they mean what your hopes are. Their wishes more follow along the lines of Lysenkoism.
Bluetech, great song and so true.
bobd06, exactly. Most of the main political columnists are in various degrees on the left and in the front section. You have to look for Peter Foster, Corcoran and a few others further to the back. Rex Murphy and Conrad Black still write columns.

    By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez
I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz.
We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, and talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.”

  9. Bingo! Same time and reason ‘The Vancouver Sun’ became a flaming liberal publication. I went from being their avid, daily reader to avoiding that fishwrap.

  10. Agree with the above comments. The National Post has changed significantly in its editorial stance. It is no longer a conservative leaning newspaper.
I was a subscriber, then an avid online reader, but I’ve been done with that paper for a few months.

  11. Yup, its getting tiresome quickly. One would think the Mop and Pail and the Red Star would be enough for the HDS Toronto mindset to read.
But, when you have the likes of Den Tandt joined by Ivison, Tabs Southy and Maggie Atwood, you know the paper has jumped the shark.
One good thing, they dropped Disqus for Facebook posting, and, the deranged lefty sock puppets have all but disappeared, making things somewhat better.
But yeah, the NP is really testing my patience now, although I can fake my way past the paywall rather easily.

  13. A long time ago. I was a day one subscriber to the National Post, when it was created out of the ashes of the Financial Post. I gave up my subscription a couple of years ago for this exact reason. There are a few writers from it I miss, but the overall tone of the paper changed. Probably around the time that they lost Mark Steyn.
