It’s not common to see a leftist still carrying the torch for the Viet Cong and the NVA, but it’s a useful reminder of the rage that beats within some leftist hearts, a rage that can even take a symbol meant to honor and remind Americans of the undeniable fact that there are — in fact — men who are missing in Vietnam, men we can’t account for an may never be found, and turn it into a symbol of — you guessed it — racism.
They’re only men and mostly white so it’s not like they matter…

In war – particularly long drawn-out large scale campaigns – personnel go missing. This is the 100th anniversary of the Great War, a war in which the numbers of missing reached epic proportions.
Even Vietnam itself calculates there were hundreds of thousands of NVA and Viet Cong who went missing and have no known graves.
Leave that US POW/MIA flag alone and leave American families and comrades-in-arms (heck, Vietnamese ones too) to remember those who were lost and unaccounted for in that conflict, regardless of our views of the rights and wrongs of it.
I am moved to point out that during the Paris “Peace Talks” that the North Vietnamese finally released some French POWs from Dien Bien Phu…..which the commies had held just because they could.
It is doubtful any MIAs still survive having succumbed to disease, murder, or simply old age…..but I am convinced many were held in remote jungle prisons. Because that’s what those people do.
It is pretty much understood that North Vietnam retained a few hundred? American prisoners to ensure the US complied with all the terms of the treaty while North Vietnam complied with nothing. The suspicion was that the administration was fully aware of this but was unwilling to return to war to resolve the problem and did their best to conceal it.
It was to be expected as Russia kept tens of thousands of POWs for 10 or a lot more years. A lot of the people known to be prisoners of the Chinese in Korea were also missing.
