Britain will go no faster than other countries in cutting greenhouse gas emissions, the government has signalled.
In a speech setting out the government’s position on climate change, Amber Rudd, the energy secretary, said that the need to cut emissions had to be balanced against the requirement to protect the economy and keep down energy bills.
The Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has announced that the government will no longer fund the Green Deal scheme, which provided loans designed to help homeowners improve the energy efficiency of their property.
The department said that the latest target in its cull of green policies was aimed at protecting taxpayers, and was the result of low take-up of the scheme and concerns about industry standards.
But the government has yet to announce how it will fill the gap in its energy efficiency policies left by the Green Deal.
It comes on the heels of an announcement that subsidies for small scale solar and biomass projects would be scaled back.
Now if we could get some of that common sense into the Green crazed Liberal government of Ontario before we freeze in the dark because we cannot afford the outrageous cost of all that falls under the blanket of green energy.

The EU is hooped with the BS energy alternative nonsense. The Iran Oil deal (resulting in lower world wide price)is a saving grace because it will help them transission back to reality without anybody noticing the wasted crap. Oil will be so cheap that they can sell the change without admitting that AGW Alternative Sources would never make the desired impact without serious economic & reduced manufacturing capability….
Yep, it will be real fun keeping warm in Ontario as we are experiencing colder weather due to a phase of solar minimum which scientists (The real credible ones) are now worried we might be entering a mini ice age like a few hundred years ago if the sun does not go back to more normal sun spot activity soon.

We will most likely suffer through a series of increasingly intense mini ice ages over the next 2000 to 4000 years before we slide into the next big ice age. The rest of the world is going to be pumping out CO2 for a long time to come. There is no getting around this fact.
We can only hope for the best.
I’m taking an optimistic view. If higher CO2 helps plants grow faster in hotter and dried conditions and if another mini ice age approaches, will a slightly warmer planet thwart its advance?

Means no cities north of there even if we built giant burners and aimed them to the fronts
So – is setting targets at the same time as scaling back programs admission that ice ages, drought and the rising of temperatures are independent of human activity? I will buy that but let’s do away with the targets too.
