Look, I actually strongly agree with the idea that “if you can play you can play”, regardless of your orientation.
Michael Sam can’t play.
Back when I was a colt I had a friend who played for the Al’s. Said training camp was fun because the local girls made themselves very available to the out of towners. In other words ya got to pick out one two? that suited you.
I’m sure this practice hasn’t changed much and maybe it spooked Michael……he had to get ‘special permission’ to leave camp on the eve of the season.
Any other theories out there?
He really isn’t that good and He knows it,,,,and that’s WHY he played the Gay Card. I’m sure he thought with the “change” in society, he’d be on a team for sure, someone would have to take him(otherwise, all the teams and the NFL would be viewed as bigoted, and they wouldn’t want that publicity). And don’t forget the endorsement money as well, companies wouldn’t want to be viewed as bigoted either. cha ching, cha ching!!!
Maybe he’s gay, I don’t know, I’ve only seen this “friend” of his from draft day, and that could have easily been a paid actor. The fee would have been small, compared to the financial reward.
Maybe in ten years, we’ll find out it was all a ruse and he really will have his girlfriend pregnant.

The picking in Quebec are slim.. The French gays are all butt ugly feminist types looking for hockey players…He may have found to much competition..

Back in the mid 70’s the Dallas Cowboys had a linebacker named Hollywood Henderson. He was an over-the-top self promoter who fell afoul of the drug scene. He was interviewed by Playboy and asked if there were any homosexuals in the NFL. Henderson replied in the affirmative. When asked how he knew he said he could tell because they were the guys with an erection in the shower after a loss……..

This is funny. Everybody said Ricky Williams was going to love the CFL because of BC. Michael Sam never even got to get to the Beaches of Toronto and he had to leave.

I think its just a convenient way for the team to cut him with the least amount of media circus.
It would be odd that they would do that before mandatory cuts, unless that’s just more PR work.
