  1. I miss him of course, but only in a Dear-God-in-Heaven-the-guy-in-the-White-House-now-is-the-friggin-antichrist kind of way.

  2. Heck, compared to Obama I even “miss” Carter, in terms of damage done.

  3. Bush was honourable, clearly loved his country and did what he thought was right for the country.

  4. Bush didn’t blow up my business, my taxes, or my health insurance. He’s Jesus freakin Christ compared to Obama…

  5. Bush was better than Obama. That said, few people want to see another Bush in the White House.
Islam is not ‘the’ Religion of Peace or even a religion of peace.
Bush had a lot of bad policy:
    a) incandescent light bulb ban
    b) ethanol in the gasoline
    c) created Homeland Security Agency and put nearly all other Federal Agencies under it
    d) created the TSA
    e) created Patriot Act
    f) appointed John Roberts to the Supreme Court
    g) created Islamic Republics in Afghanistan and Iraq
    h) supported independence for Albanian majority Kosovo
    i) increased number of economic regulation governmental workers by 91,196
    j) in his 2006 State of the Union Address, Bush declared, “America is addicted to oil” and announced his Advanced Energy Initiative to increase energy development research
    k) in his 2007 State of the Union Address, Bush renewed his pledge to work toward diminished reliance on foreign oil by reducing fossil fuel consumption and increasing alternative fuel production
    l) in his 2008 State of the Union Address, Bush announced that the U.S. would commit $2 billion over the next three years to a new international fund to promote clean energy technologies and fight climate change, saying, “Along with contributions from other countries, this fund will increase and accelerate the deployment of all forms of cleaner, more efficient technologies in developing nations like India and China, and help leverage substantial private-sector capital by making clean energy projects more financially attractive
    m) Nearly 8 million immigrants came to the United States from 2000 to 2005, more than in any other previous five-year period in the nation’s history. Almost half entered illegally. In 2006, Bush urged Congress to allow more than 12 million illegal immigrants to work in the United States with the creation of a “temporary guest-worker program”.
    n) strongly supported the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007, which was written by a bipartisan group of Senators with the active participation of the Bush administration. The bill envisioned a legalization program for illegal immigrants, with an eventual path to citizenship
Bush’s presidency laid the groundwork for a lot of things that conservative bloggers complain about regularly and blame exclusively on Obama.
Bush was better than Obama. But I don’t no why this is an issue.

  6. Grok said, “Bush was honourable, clearly loved his country and did what he thought was right for the country.”
    Agree 100%.
And….you’ll never see it on CBC.

  7. No matter if Bush was a great President or not, the simple fact Liberal heads are exploding right now is good enough for me.
As a matter of fact it is a great feeling!

  8. Nice little list you got there Oz, but it does not change the fact Bush was a better President, and is a better, more decent human being than Obama.

  9. Yes, it’s a little list. It could have been much longer.
    Here let me quote myself.
First line: “Bush was better than Obama.”
Last line: “Bush was better than Obama.”
Bush would have supported the Keystone XL pipeline. No question about it.

  10. Security of the country was left to the wind under Clinton(who BTW stated publicly several times about Saddam processing WMD, videos can be found online). Something had to be done about National Security and Bush did what he had to after 91101. Obama expanded the surveillance, and even used it to monitor his political opponents.(Don’t think for a moment his team didn’t read ever text and email Romney received). BTW, don’t forget how he also used the IRS to control and restrict his political opponents. obama also developed the democrat slush fund by giving away 100’s of billions of dollars to friendly companies or unions, only to have them donate back a large share to the democrat party.(and likely an offshore account to his own person)
The national debt has increased from 9.6 trillion to currently 17.4 trillion, check out a youtube video to see what a trillion is, you will not only be astonished you will also be somber.
obama, instead of using his half blackness to motivate and help blacks and brown people, he agitated them for his own political gain, increased their free stuff, phones, food stamps, home mortgages, etc and made them as a group even more dependant on gov’t. he also agitated them against the police(with help from media) also created the Occupy movement as a means of agitation.
Bush didn’t lie, obama lies about everything, starting with(as presidential candidate how he was going to accept “public financing” during the 2008 federal election.

  11. Obama is a great teacher, but the American public is very stupid and ignorant. After another 18 months of Obama’s teaching, more will have an improved understanding of the world.

  12. “Something had to be done about National Security and Bush did what he had to after 91101.”
    Search Operation ‘Able Danger’.
The CIA had the intelligence-gathering-abroad mandate, and the FBI had the counter intelligence/counter terrorism mandate within the USA.
Carter erected a ‘wall of separation’ between the CIA and the FBI that prevented the CIA from giving the Able Danger intelligence to the FBI and BJ Clinton strengthen that wall.
All Bush had to do was tear down that wall.
Instead he created the Homeland Security monster, the TSA, and the Patriot Act.
He grossly overreacted at home and underreacted with the response against Islam, all the while letting huge numbers of Muslims come to the US.
    “Bush didn’t lie,”
“Islam is the Religion of Peace.”
~ George W. Bush President of the United States of America
The really big ones just go over some people’s heads.

  13. Obama is a great teacher of what? how to hate the USA, capitalism and white man’s civilization? How to lose wars to Islamic terrorists and how to love Islam? How to cheat and How to behave like a dictator?

  14. It’s about Bush vs. obama!
It’s true Bush started some of those agencies, but under obama’s administration, obama expanded their powers and made them more intrusive upon the citizens of the U.S.A. and others around the world. obama used those agencies against his political opponents and also used “social media” companies as data collectors to also spy on private citizens and political opponents.
The Iraq war was won, until obama decided to signal publically the date he was going to remove all the American troops, he did so for political reasons. He doesn’t care what happens, just like Gitmo, he’s going to empty the prison for political reasons not because that’s what is best.
Islam may very well be a religion of peace, but if only 0.5% are radicalized, that leaves the world to deal with over 10 million terrorists!

  15. John Lewis’s comment was satire. Wasn’t it? Wasn’t it!!? Dear God, please tell me it WAS!

  16. Amazing how classy george W has been in retirement, unlike the Zero’s Blame Bush for 6years and counting.
Obama Bin Lying is a very good teacher.. after all a good education is expensive and stays in your mind..
Well the cost of Obama is yet to be tallied and the ongoing poverty and loss of opportunity will linger for years.

  17. GW’s sweat sock has more integrity that the entire whitehouse and that includes the golfer-in-chief. Spent several years living in Texas post-911 and saw first hand a person who cared for his country. A far cry from his “I did not have sexual relations” predecessor, the present sock puppet or unfortunately, the soon to be coordinated “What difference does it make” biatch.

  18. now that’s some funny sh*t rite there. But it defines a pathological narcissist to a “T”

  19. “Islam may very well be a religion of peace”
It isn’t. Islam wasn’t spread with a butter knife, it was spread by the sword. It’s inventor, Muhammad, raped pillaged and murdered.(among other evils)
    “The Iraq war was won”
No, it wasn’t. The fighting never ended and Bush created an Islamic Republic(based on Sharia Law) where before there was only a fascist secular state. Bush had already signed an agreement with the Iraqi government(lead by his handpicked Iraqi President) to withdraw before Obama was even elected POTUS.
“It’s true Bush started some of those agencies, but under obama’s administration, obama expanded their powers and made them more intrusive upon the citizens of the U.S.A.”
Just like Adolph Hitler did with many agencies and initiatives started by the Weimar Republic which predated his dictatorship.
What Bush did was excessive, for mere political purpose. He does not deserve a pass for expanding the power of the Federal state and suspending the liberties of ALL to preserve the ability for a small handful of Muslims who follow a death cult created by this EVIL man Muhammad.
Collective punishment and reducing the rights of the many are properly attributed to the action of fascist/communist governments, not what a conservative representative of the Right would do.
The TSA that Bush created were not to profile the exact people(Muslim males) who were most likely to be terrorists.
Now I know that you will attempt to accuse me of collective punishment for the adherents of Islam, but Islam is EVIL and any adherents who practice it with dedication will necessarily practice it like their prophet Muhammad dictated and did himself do.
Islam needs to be stamped out. There is no other way to practice it as it was properly done by Muhammad(who Muslims claim to be the perfect Muslim man) than to do what ISIL is currently doing.
It was inevitable that a Caliphate(such as ISIL) would evolve in the area of Iraq after Bush made Iraq an Islamic Republic.
Iraq(Baghdad) was the seat of the last true Caliphate.
In fact Saladin(although a Kurd) was born in Tikrit, the same Iraqi(Levant) city that Saddam Hussein was born and raised in.
Saladin was a thousand years ago. But history is very important to the Muslims and times/places(the new Caliph is named Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi) mean more to Muslims than they do to many of us.(myself excepted)
Bottom line, Bush didn’t let the crisis of 911 go to waste as Obama himself wouldn’t. Bush used it to expand Statism at the expense of the Liberty of individual Americans and the blood and treasure of America and all it’s NATO Allies for what looks to be nothing except just that expansion of State Power.
We are not any safer. Muslim immigrants and visitors are POURING into our nation and into America and the whole western world.
You can go back to 2007-2008(when Bush was still Pres), heck ask CJunk who used to be a co-blogger here at SDA and she’ll tell you that I said over half a decade ago that within six months of us leaving Afghanistan and Iraq that it will be as if we were never there.
And We won’t be any Safer or Freer because Our governments let THEM come HERE.

  20. Oz, you seem a little obsessed with Bush.
To follow along with the theme of this thread, you don’t comment at all, about whether obama has made things better or worse.
Your postings are just so like the “I B’s F” crowd.
obama didn’t have to pull all the troops out, his generals were asking him not to for fear of collapse, this makes obama better? He did so, only for his political legacy, not for the concerns of Iraqis.
Just like so many other things, obama didn’t have to follow Bush and make matters worse.
It’s like the tip of a knife being stabbed into someone’s chest. obama, could have changed directions on many issues, obama could have pulled the knife out, but instead, he just shoved it in deeper.
obama likes voting “Present”, by continuing the directions in which Bush started meant obama didn’t need to make any decisions of his own, thus It’s all Bush’s Fault!
One thing obama did start on his own was healthcare reform, which has been proven to be a complete disaster right from the launch and especially if the federal subsidies are ruled illegal.
    Oz,,,were you Grubered!
Did you really believe that if you liked your doctor, you could keep your doctor??? !

  21. “Oz, you seem a little obsessed with Bush.”
Not at all. I never think about Bush unless it’s a thread like this one. I am not nostalgic.
    I loathe Obama.
What point is there in comparing these 2 people?
Bush was a mediocre President who was reactive, he expanded the Police State and set a bad narrative view with regard to environmentalism and the threat we face from Islam.
Obama is proactive(a Communist) and the worst President in history.
Obama built upon Bush’s mistakes with the Police State expansion, stoked radical environmentalism, and massively expanded the Welfare State while plunging the U.S. into a position of debt that it can never recover from.
So what? What point is there in comparing the 2 just because a mere 52% of people reached in a telephone survey happen to like Bush better in the rear view mirror?
Posterity almost always looks back with nostalgia and rose colored glasses.
What is the popularity contest even about?
George W. Bush can never run for office of the President again and neither can Barak H. Obama.
Will it help us in the future to pretend that Bush was a better President than Bush really was?
    I don’t think so.

  22. “Oz,,,were you Grubered!

Look Dumbass, this is a Canadian blog and I am a Canadian living in Alberta Canada.
Small Dead Animals won the Best Canadian Weblog award in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 just like it says at the top right of the screen below the logo.
We have had a national healthcare system here in Canada for decades.
Nothing Obama has said to the American public about healthcare has much application to me or most anyone else who frequents this blog.
