In Britain, consultant gynaecologist Professor Geeta Nargund has written a letter to Education Secretary Nicky Morgan that some deem to be controversial. Why? Because she dared to state the truth, namely that the reproductive abilities of women over the age of 30 tends to diminish.
“I have witnessed all too often the shock and agony on the faces of women who realise they have left it too late to start a family.
“For so many, this news comes as a genuine surprise and the sense of devastation and regret can be overwhelming.”
She added: “Information is power and the best way to empower people to take control of their fertility is through education.
“Ideally, if a woman is ready for a child, she should start trying by the time she is 30. She should consider having a child early because as a woman gets older, her fertility declines sharply.”
If Nargund had been a man, particularly a white male, do you think he’d still have a job today?!

I wonder how long before some of the progressives start suggesting that men should have more babies?
Fifty years of social engineering vs six million years of evolutionary pressure — I’ll put my money on the DNA.
Sounds like common sense to me. A woman has all of her eggs in her ova at birth. They get old and stale and musty.
Fertility drops (especially with all the endocrine disruptors in our big pharma drugs) and delivery of a baby is more difficult in older women (esp. professional women who sit around at a desk all day and have no muscle tone) *gasp!* I said it.

This doctor, of course will be burnt at the stake.
OOps. I meant ‘ova in her ovaries’.
I agree.
Pat Buchanan suggests in his book, “The Death of the West”, that people in western societies are too comfortable in their prosperity and do not want their lifestyle disrupted by having children. I would add that this is particularly so during their younger years. Added to that the years it takes for the modern rush to get an education, then to get a job and get established and, voila, age 30 has arrived.
I have a daughter, who is our oldest child, that went through exactly that, and has a husband who is an avid mountain biker and has very poor egg breaker count. They had only one child through invitro and adopted another from off-shore. Our other three children have had families of 3, 3, and 4.
Conservative religious families in our neck of the woods often have larger families of around 4-6 children.
My reproductive(male) capacity dropped with age too.
My spawn tired me out
Anyone calculated the big savings from tampon tax. I’m figuring about 5 $ a year per
Money that won’t go to the cbc, by their own calculation
They’re Progs – nature and realty don’t apply to them, they live in the delusion their dogmatism creates – no internal clock on Prog females will affect their indoctrinating – it’s why we don’t have to worry about fighting these SJWs for the soul of a free society – they are self correcting – self depopulating.
Decades of socialism, decades of “progressivisim”, decades of feminism, have all wrought incalculable damage on the family.
I am going to try to teach my son that if he wants a family, he needs to start it as a younger man than I. More energy to spend with your kids, more time to have more kids if desired, living to see them grow older, living to see your (hopeful!) grandchildren grow older, etc.
Time waits for no man. Nor woman. An inconvenient fact of life that progressives, particularly women, loathe to admit.
30 years of public school sex education at work!
Yea they’re “independent” all right – Single moms with 2 or 3 fatherless “youth” to help subsidise the welfare payments with meth sales.
Enjoy it, you’ve earned it.
Perhaps the 21st century in the West will be looked back on as a bottleneck, evolutionary-wise. Women and men who are not interested in raising a family are genetic dead-enders. Those who for whatever reason, nature or nurture, want and are physically able to have children will quickly become the majority. Those that also possess the temperament and skills to get and stay married will give their children a natural advantage. Where conservatives see doom and progressives see increased inequality I see Darwin and natural selection. Statistically, I’d assume this holds true for all groups -native, settler and immigrant populations. Especially in countries like Canada where immigration favors immigrants have in-demand skills.
Trying to coerce the women to have more babies ??? What is going on here ?? Why the 180 degree about face ?? For decades it was the opposite – the Elites told us families are too big, worldwide !! Now some counties will even pay women to have babies, tax credits, ect.
What is going on ?? There are many reasons why the elite ‘Ruling Class’ types are in a panic over impending human population decline.
– The idea that gov’ts can run perpetually growing deficits (money printing) because a growing population will easily pay for it (aka pass the debt onto the kids) becomes unsustainable.
– The thought that unfunded pension liabilities are ok because there will be more kids to pay for the oldies pension gap becomes a cruel joke if the kids are not forthcoming.
– The hope that it will be easy to stoke inflation in order to help nullify gov’t debt because a growing population will put upward pressure on prices is lost.
– A huge part of the Ruling Class climate alarmism agenda has been the human population explosion thing overwhelming the earth. aka David Jacuzzi calling us humans ‘maggots’ and Peak oil blah blah.
So when the Ruling Class elites see an impending decline in population undercutting most of their crazy ideas no wonder they are in a panic.
What else can explain their about face on family size. Their greedy desire to rule the masses trumps everything else.
Please point out where I may be wrong in all this.
I.M. – you touch upon an important aspect with respect to kids. In my own (limited) experience, young adults give little to no thought about grandchildren and being grandparents. Far too often it is all about “me–now”. Long term planning falls is perhaps for five years away.
Granted, some do have an idea when they would “ideally” want to have kids. But when was the last time you ever heard them say when they wanted to have grandkids? To me, that has always been a much more sobering thought. For the sake of argument, let’s assume that your kids start having kids at the same age that you did. In this scenario, if you are 40 when you start having kids, you would become a grandparent at 80, and be 90 (and likely dead) when that first grandchild reaches the age of 10. Repeat this for various ages. The older that you start, the less time you will have to get to know them, help them, and shape them.
The modern D.I.N.K. family tends towards their dog/cat as their child, dressing them, feeding them organic poochie food, giving them a middle and last name, expensive doggy day care (with daily reports of course), and best of all , willing the estate to them.
Can you say demented? Pets are just that, they are not people, they cant get the mail, start a bank account, or order from Tim’s.
Yet today, we see all too many childless couples taking on this bizarre, silly lifestyle choice
Very true, Sparky. I myself was 30 before I even realized I was slowly letting my life slip away from me; I kind of suddenly realized I was on a dead-end path. I didn’t meet my wife until I was 35 and we just had our first child. I honestly don’t know if we’ll have the time to have another one, and it is pretty sobering to realize we very likely won’t see our son turn 50, and I’m not even sure about 40. I often look at him and wish I’d had him 10 years younger, but at the same time I am so thankful to have him now.
Youth is wasted on the young. I came to realize a lot of mine sure was. I hope my son can learn from my mistakes.
That is sad. They will be alone someday after their spouse passes away, and maybe a sibling to look in on them. Later they will have only a health care worker looking after them…one who mostly does not give a rat’s …
That BMW and vacations in Aruba won’t look so good then.
My mother-in-law has three of her children close by who see her usually once a week and phone in between times. Some grandkids that drop in and sometimes take her to a restaurant, to church or for a drive. Her other two kids live further away a come a couple of times a year and phone weekly. She is not alone.
I also believe this is why there are more “autistic” (and other issues) kids being born now than before – older eggs and older sperm. We are designed to procreate in our prime but now we’re working against evolution and going backwards due to social norms.
Some wise advice already mentioned on this thread but those same comments had me repeatedly thinking of an old but oh so true saying … “Life is what happens when you are making other plans.”
I no longer waste my time looking back and fretting old decisions. There is never any guarantee that the “other” choice would have ended well anyways.
You can only move forward if you are looking forward.
Where libertarians see lofty proclamations I see evidence that Darwin and natural selection are on vacation.
Yeah, if we knew then……
…..We woulda done it a lot different….probably not better but different.
There wuz an episode of Star Trek Next Gen….where Picard messes with his time-line in one instance, and finds his life unravel…
Chance and fate are funny (queer not haha) things….
Points to ponder……
