The ‘supervoid’, which is 1.8 billion light-years across, is the largest known structure ever discovered in the universe but scientists are baffled about what it is and why it is so barren.
It sits in a region of space which is much colder than other parts of the universe and although it is not a vacuum, it seems to have around 20 per cent less matter than other regions.
Although the Big Bang theory allows for areas that are cooler and hotter, the size of the void does not fit with predicted models. Simply put, it is too big to exist.

I have a (plausible) theory as to what the big void is –
it is the universal vessel of all bad ideas and meritless thinking – it is the vast nothingness from which leftists and sundry SJWs pull their “inspiration” – from the vast void where reason, logic and empathy do not exist to the minds of nothing worshippers on their quest for enthropy.

Yeah, I don’t see this as remarkable, either. The Big bang was a chaotic event, an explosion that scattered star-stuff randomly in all directions. Scattered randomly, not “distributed evenly”. Uniformity is the last thing we should expect.
The article I read a scientist declared the structure was an object missing 10,000 galaxies and wasn’t a void it was simply “Under-Dense” I thought….he just made that up.

Their itty bitty scientists work around the clock to counter the threats we present and on certain diseases they are 97% certain that the solution is a corpuscle tax to reverse pending damage.Their little telescopes see a infinite universe of ever moving blood and tissue. All we know for certain is that we don’t know anything. We have adapted to surrounding conditions but have no idea what those conditions are comprised of. We consider space infinite when in reality it could be less than a inch on another scale. Our greatest scientists work with mathematical equations that could be less than kinder garden math to whomever does the laundry. Our entire lifespan could be equivalent to a few minutes of our overlords. The very theory that space is infinite, without beginning or end, is still well beyond our comprehension and our minds will not accept that. It does not compute. If we ever progress to where it does makes sense it will probably be laundry day and the survivors will have to start all over again. That’s why the science can never be settled. Infinite belongs to the realm of our overlords and laundry day is coming. Movie to follow shortly.

justthinkin, I was justwondering why there should be anything in that or any other area of space. unless someone laid out a plan and said, hey, I want 42 billion planets here and 42 billion planets there, well, of course there will be empty spaces. for all those who believe in the big bang theory, kaboom, random distribution of all matter in the universe. maybe we could start analysing the captcha code and come up with a theory that proves everything.
