I see straw people

CNN commentator Sally Kohn manages to barf up every lie and every example of sophistry ever made by progressives in one single tweet:

Conservatives: Unarmed man shot by cops for broken tail light is criminal — but pizza shop owner breaking non-discrimination laws is hero?!

I hope she feels better now.

  1. Lies:
The “unarmed man” was not shot for a broken tail-light….suicide by cop or stupidity…you chose.
There was no “non-discrimination laws” broken…no one was refused service…some-one expressed an opinion….

  2. Judging by the replies she got to that tweet, even her followers called her out on the bullshit. She is one sick puppy.

  3. If it helps you understand the situation better, Sally Kohn, they were both victims of the government agents that you want to put in charge of every aspect of our lives and on which you want us all utterly dependent.

  4. Someone should point out to her that if the government can force a bakery to cater a gay wedding, then equal protection demands that the government must force a bakery to cater a “God Hates Fags” event by the Westboro Baptist Church.
Honestly, I really wish they’d do that now, just to watch the left – without a trace of irony – suddenly start reciting the same talking points they’ve been mocking for years.

  5. Angry dyke. But I repeat myself.
“Give me one example” is kryptonite to them. Works every time. You’ll get “the Crusades”zzz so you counter with Oxford prof on the truth of the Crusades.
Then you’ll get “LOL! You know how to cut and paste!!” which was their mic drop circa 10 years ago.
“It’s called providing evidence,” you counter. “You should try it. Again, please give me one example of X.”
Then they just start swearing and saying you should die, then refuse to engage further.

  6. Sally Kohn’s opinion piece starts out “Hey, Christian business owners”. Why is she singling out one specific group? Isn’t that discrimination? Why is there no issue with non-Christians refusing to print gay material or bake a gay cake?
This issue seems to be more about limiting religious freedom than protecting the rights of gay people.
And just for the record I’m not sure that a cake can be gay, but if it could, someone should be allowed to bake it.

  7. That cop is now fired and being charged with murder……the rhetorical question is “Are they really THAT stupid?”.

  8. When one government introduces a law that forces cake bakers to decorate cakes for gay people that leads another government to introduce a law protecting people from having to bake such cakes due to religious freedom … we have two governments that have completely lost their perspective on what really matters.

  9. Well, I will give the SJW twit one consession – I agree that the wrong people are being shot in the US – if daily public obfuscation of the proper concept of “justice” was treated like the crime it is, then many of the right people might be shot resisting arrest.

  10. In this woman’s mind, being a Conservative is a greater crime than shooting a man in the back.
That’s what you want to be remembering when you watch her talk on TV. There is no lie she won’t tell to make Conservatives look bad. She’s on a Holy Crusade, and all her transgressions for The Cause will be forgiven.
There’s a lot of these dorks around, too. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from the whole Sad Puppies/Hugo Awards thing, it’s that there’s a bunch of these Crusaders out there, and they are all CRAZY. Theyre nuts. Whacko. Bonkers. Two fries short of a Happy Meal. They make sh1t up because they think it’s the right thing to do.
Kathy Shaidle perfectly describes the “argumentation” process with one of them. You can’t have a reasoned discussion with a person who does not reason, and these Social Justice Warriors wear their unreason like a badge of honor. “I do not think, therefore I am Good.”
Only one thing you can do with that. Defeat it.

  11. In all likelihood the back shooting “cop” is a Liberal, a leftist Union thug.
The black victims lawyer should probe deep into Slagars political background and you will no doubt find a Nancy Pelosi supporter, a member of the Democrat K.K.K eugenics club.

  12. I was wondering how long it would take for NME666 to jump in and say something really stupid in the form of a rhetorical question.

  13. The odds are in your favor, Knight but remember one thing, it will be buried in the news cycle if you are right.
It will not be as “important” news as say, Rand Paul is mean to female journos or our own Canadian super duper scandal of all time since Confederation: The Mike Duffy trial.
Just pray that the cop wasn’t just a mentally ill/man with a moment of very bad judgment that happens to be Conservative, otherwise it will be because he was primarily Right wing that he did this in the first place.
Keep in mind that if The Boston Bombers had been white and “extreme” Right wing (The MSM’s best orgasms) instead of your usual Islamic nutcase, the US media would be 24/7 on it, trumps everything else news…They would use it agains’t Rand Paul and Scott Walker you see…The US MSM wants Jeb Bush for the GOP, nothing else so far.
In Canada (CBC) it would be Duffy first then that Conservative bastard Boston bomber.

  14. Well said and you sum it up well. Angry dyke is right. Too many of them with pens around these.

  15. CNN the Communists News Network no diffrent then the rest of the lie a day news scumballs like NBC’s lies about GM pick-up trucks eurpting into flame in a collision when it was later revealed NBC had rigged the whole thing and CNN is no better then the other leftists news agencies

  16. The police officer is being charged with murder because it appears there was no lawful cause for shooting the man he shot. That doesn’t mean he shot him for having a broken tail light. It also doesn’t mean Conservatives believe the police should shoot unarmed black people for having broken tail lights as Sally Kohn suggested in her tweet.

  17. I love her opening paragraph…
You may have heard that the government is forcing businesses not to discriminate. It isn’t. If you chose to run a business, you have to follow the laws. If you don’t, that’s a choice—and you choose to suffer the consequences.
As CC used to say (who’s a huge SDA fan, by the way), “The stupidity, it hurts.”
The idea that punishing someone is not forcing them to act in a certain way is staggeringly dumb.

  18. Black perp….white cop = charged with murder.
    It is a given…..
    I suspect there is a growing pattern now…..white cop…run away and don’t look back…

  19. “Don’t like following the laws that apply to businesses—including serving all customers equally? Then don’t start a business. That’s your choice.”
Seems to me CNN should be following their own advice.
Bigoted, underhanded deniers of fair play that they are.

  20. I’ve seen less spin out of the tub of my washing machine — or my dryer for that matter… 😛

  21. As far as outright fabrications go, this ranks right up there along with “burning crosses on front lawns in Prince George”.

  22. Gotta say, based on the video that cop has a really towering burden of proof to meet before that was righteous shoot. No different than the Toronto cop that gunned down the stupid punk in the streetcar, there’s virtually no set of circumstances that make this legit. The guy p1ssed the cop off and the cop shot him. A lot.
Just imagine what happens when you give that cop a full-auto rifle, major body armor an MRAP vehicle and air support. Holy freaking freak, Batman
In other news, the US gun industry is breaking sales records every month.

  23. I think the officer in the Toronto streetcar had some elements of justification for lethal force – not enough, but some. This latest one in the U.S. seems to have nothing, no sign that the guy running away was armed nor that he was trying to get anywhere in particular, just away from the police officer.

  24. One thing that puzzles me is the exceptional and repeated coverage on CBC et al. I viewed Lisa L. on the television and professional though she is, she seemed to be invigorated in her delivery. “A white policeman shoots a black man”. (or near enough)
Tragic as it is, with what does go on in our two countries, surely there are other more disturbing incidents. I would offer the opinion that our tax dollars are at work for race baiters. It could be that the MSM in Canada do not even think of themselves as such.
Something odd here, as regards the incessant playing of that video. Again and again. After all Canadian police not involved here. (Thank the Lord).

  25. The ‘overplaying’ is to re-inforce the O’s message the racism is a huge problem in the states.
    It might be.
But when I watch that vid I see a cop shooting a slow running man in the back. Disgusting. The cop should be charged with murder.
    See what I did there?
I really don’t need Laphlegm or CNN telling me what to think.

  26. Tooner: Thanks–and sorry–I haven’t been following this story closely. I did see the video!!
Conclusion: I’m glad I live in Canada. I used to holiday in the USA–I’ve now switched to Australia and New Zealand. A tad more expensive, but much safer!
Just one place I’ve been. When I visited Magnetic island, the water temp. was 29C. (Jan 22.)
