Trouble is, her comment went into the homes (and minds) of an entire audience, while the rebuttal and so-called disciplinary actions all fly under the radar, and the audience remains unaware that they have been pushed in a certain direction. It is so easy. Say what you want in public, and retract it in private. The damage is done; the message still gets out there….mission accomplished.

Consider the network’s assertion:
“CBC is a language model for its audiences. Good usage and accuracy are essential to high quality journalism. Our language should be simple, clear and concrete.”
I want to know the “simple, clear and concrete” definition of “militant”. The CBC tosses this term around with regularity. I first encountered the term as a description of more fractious factions within trade unions and, later, in political parties, such as the British Labour Party and the NDP in Canada. Today, the term covers people who murder large numbers of people in restaurants, museums, and shopping malls. Can the CBC, which, it assures us, is a “language model for its audiences” (by which it means, of course, all civilized and rational Canadians) tell us the meaning of the term “militant”.

You have to know how lefties think. When confronted with clear statements of fact such that the Israeli PM presented, lefties only see diatribe or bullying. Harper says that the full body bag should have no place when swearing an oath to Canada and for stating the obvious he’s called a bully.

The CBC and it’s msm clones have done much to push the “middle” well to the left in Canada. Generations of Liberal governments enacting NDP policy only to be maintained by Conservatives has left the political landscape barren to any hint of rolling back the state. A conservative of a couple of decades back is considered an extremist and libertarians are not even part of the language.

I turned on the CBC Newsworld this morning and within a minute found an example that shows otherwise.
The Boko Haram killed about 70 people and left their bodies under a bridge.
The CBC refers to this site as a ‘mass grave’. That gives the impression that the bodies were buried affording them a bit of dignity.
But no, it was a dumping ground for their kills or the actual slaughter site. The CBC once again downplays the atrocities committed by the ‘religion of peace’.
In yesterday’s story about the convictions of the Islamic terrorists, you will not find the word ‘Islam’.
Their reporting is simply and clearly slanted to the left.

I would expect that Ms Hiscox would be reassigned to duties more suited to her knowledge base, say covering the preschooler morning show, but no.

I recall a journalist on the CBC nightly news reporting Jim Flaherty’s upcoming retirement and ending with (I’m paraphrasing) “and now that Flaherty is leaving government, he will no doubt join Bay Street and make millions”. This was around the time that Peter Mansbridge was under fire for paid speeches while under the employ of CBC. Flaherty would pass away a short time later.

Me too. When we were doing the peaceful Landowner protests, the MSM (CBC included) would regularly describe us a “militant” property right organization, or “militant” farmers – even though there was never the slightest bit of violence or even a hint of force.
Yet these same news organizations couldn’t bring themselves to use that adjective when masked Indians with rifles were blockading rail lines.
