Now, the BBC might not be everybody’s cup of tea, as it were. But last night I watched the six o’clock BBC News. Within 15 minutes I had been taken to all the major news spots around the globe. Compare that to the first 15 minutes of The National where we take a dull tour of Canadian “news” of no great import or account, including the always obligatory “native issues” or “transgender” item.
By the time the CBC gets to the substantive news, I’ve long ago changed the channel. Even good old Rex Murphy isn’t a big enough draw to get me through those first 15 minutes of dreariness.
