    Now if the rest of Europe would catch on to reversing the demographic death spiral.
    They might be able to keep Europe from becoming Eurabia.
    The contraceptive industry might go into recession but everything other part of the economy would boom along with a baby boom.

    Good observation. Taxes are part of it too and go hand-in-hand with more layers of government/regulation. In short, if your quality of life and hopes for the future aren’t better than those of your parents, then procreating is not as important. Stress affects sperm count and so does diet. Government has been messing with our diet for quite a few decades now.

  10. In this story, ‘Denmark’ could be replaced by any number of European nations who are facing a very inconvenient truth. Islam. Pure and simple. The numbers don’t lie. The trend is firmly established. The Islamist reproduction rate is hugely greater than the native rate. You can try to stop the inevitable by throwing all the Muslims out of the country or try to overcome their birth rate. One is as futile as the other. Read the Arabic handwriting on the wall. “Screwed” be thy name.

  12. IMHO, the biggest reason (at least in North America) is selfishness. People are so preoccupied with maximizing their personal pleasure with the most luxurious house, fanciest vehicle, most exotic vacations, surrounding themselves with the latest and most expensive cutting-edge technological toys (everything from smart phones to home theatre – I recently saw an article in an audiophile website where the author expressed an attitude that $100,000 was a good starting price in shopping for a pair of nice speakers). Plus virtually any hobby or sport that you can name has an “extreme” variation which requires astronomically priced equipment and expensive locations.
    There is no room in these self-absorbed lives for a spouse, never mind children!
    Sad, but I see it all around.

    My wife is of Danish descent. Her dad came straight from Danmark. OTOH, my Granddad and Grandma also came straight from Danmark. You should see my kids :-0

Oh boy , think if i was 20 agaian i would be the father of probably 80 kids….however it would ultimately lead to there destruction as a female influence plus the self loathing indoctrination of the gov and i would not be around to correct the crap teachers so ultimately leading to my own demise as i would be fighting the very kids i created.
    I will stick with my old hag of a wife and just keep having kids with her.
    Socialists are discusting lazy selfish greedy people.

  17. It’s the feminist, politically correct mindset by our government agencies that are to blame. They’ve been telling girls for decades now that they don’t have to be a housewife and mother, that it’s an undesirable life and they can be anything else that they choose. My granddaughters get taught in the lower grades that having babies is a terrible fate that they can avoid by marrying a woman.
    And now they wonder why western countries are in demographic collapse? Government promotion can’t trump that ingrained mindset with a few ads. Too little, too late.

  18. It is time that resolves the dearth of births in Denmark’s native population as well as in many other European countries and time is not on their side. That country will evolve into a Muslim nation and the birth rate will continue to explode – with Muslims. This is NOT a discussion about how a Welfare state is wanting more Danish kids. It is very much a conversation about how that country, and many others in Europe, are being overtaken by Muslims and are scrambling for solutions as to what to do about it. At this point, what does it matter if their government is socialist, capitalist, communist or whatever…… In the long run – they are still screwed.

  20. The biggest reason for declining birthrates is likely that most people don’t want to have too many kids when the economic situation around them is so uncertain. That uncertainty, of course, is entirely caused by government policies that intervene in the free market, but the governments were elected in (reasonably) free and fair elections.
    As long as people are suckered into believing that socialism is their friend while capitalism is their enemy, the trend will likely continue.

    The greatest expense a typical person pays for over their lifetime is not their home, but neither is it their children. It’s their government.

  22. There’s a grain of truth in that but I don’t think it’s the major reason. Plus I would never criticize someone for “selfishness”. If they want to enjoy their lifestyle and perhaps don’t feel up to the task of raising children, it would be morally wrong to throw it all away to try to raise children just to please someone else’s notion of morality.
    To criticize “personal pleasure” as you put it is too close to attacking the high wealth production of capitalism. The socialists know very well that their system will bring in widespread deprivation, but they don’t care because they want power. Don’t help them do their dirty work.

    Another broad who can’t see past her own forehead. Want to destroy families? Destroy patriarchy. Allow women to fulfill their basic urges which, as you well know, have absolutely nothing to do with commitment. Allow “love” – code for “whoever gives me tingles today” – to rule mate selection. And, of course, be sure to legislate legislate legislate men into the ground: she’s un haaaaaaappy? You pay. She wants the kids? They’re gone. She says you’re “scaring her”? You go to prison.
    Even indoctrinated men eventually respond to incentives. Which is why Hugh Hefner exists in the first place, you dummy.

  28. Simple they just need to keep letting the Muslims in.
    Between gang rapes and Muslim birth rates they will hopefully be Saudi Arabia of the North (without the oil) in another decade or two.
    Way to go Dane’s, 5000 years of cultural evolution to end up back in the Dark Ages within a generation.
