   I detest the America-hating Obama, and like Levin, haven’t much use for most of the Republicans lately,whose only concern seems to be their career, so? Which Yankee candidate should we cheer for up here in the globally warmed North?
   Levin could brush up on Canadian politics and make a very similar speech up here, except for the “Republic” bits.

7. I agree Don. That was a great speech and yes he could make the same speech up here.
   At the risk of offending some here, when we elected Mulroney, we elected a fiscal Liberal.
   When we supported Reform and then Alliance, we thought we were supporting and then electing a number of conservatives. When we supported the merger of the majority Alliance members and the minority Progressive Conservative members we thought we finally had a conservative party. Boy, were we wrong. Other than a roll back of the firearms registration aspect of Bill C-68, nothing else changed. We thought the continual degradation of Canada’s military was arrested, but other than a few new nich knick knacks and a name change, nothing else has changed.
   On the credit side, we do have some resistance to the Marxist plot to redistribute wealth through the massive AGW fraud; we also have, as compared to what the Liberals and NDP would have done, stood up to ISIS and to First Secretary Putin. We also have had some fairer business and personal tax policy.
   But, on the social policy side, not a *amm thing has changed, and in fact it has become worse. Our schools have been taken over by communists. The destruction of the family continues apace. Anybody, Christian or otherwise, that disagrees with any of this destruction is denigrated and told to shut up.
   In short, the progressives have taken over, and whatever illusions we had about a conservative party have vanished into the mist of time.
   That said, Bush and some other candidates are establishment snakes and will change nothing if ultimately elected. Walker, and a few other show some promise.

8. It’s at moments like this that I miss SUN the most. The last couple of years they covered CPAC in great deal and we ordinary people out in the northern boonies got to know that there were others who thought like us. Thank you Kate for bringing this speech, bring more.

    The whole federal bureaucracy is a child of the Liberal establishment. It fights against any Conservative policy, as does the also Liberal CBC (yes, I am aware it was founded by an idiot conservative thingy). And the whole legal structure.
    It will take a couple of decades to deal with these institutions, and all the while they will be resisting, betraying and variously putting the boot in whenever they can.
