Target says its cash costs to shut down its Canadian operations will be $500 million to $600 million. The stores will remain open during a court-supervised liquidation period.
It also plans to sell its real estate.
I’ve always loathed shopping in Target stores. Who sold them on those irritating red interiors?

LOL! I live near a Target store in western WA state and it is fulllll of Canadians every day I have ever been in it.
Maybe they like the American version better.
Also, the red interior is cheery! Not like the miserable depressing blue of Walmart or Sears or whoever.
Target destroyed by direct hit from MOAB (mother of all bankruptcies). Collateral damage is severe. 17,000 jobs destroyed.
We have a Target store nearby, but I have never shopped there. (I don’t shop much)
Originally it was a Woodwards store. Then a Zellers, and finally a Target.
What will it be next?
