On Oct. 16, I broke an exclusive story in the Vancouver Courier, “Vision Vancouver wins union campaign funding.”
It’s no surprise that left-wing parties are the preferred target of political donations from organized labour. But the party that rules City of Vancouver was, just 10 short months ago, very public and aggressive in its push for the prohibition of both union and corporate donations.
Well….
A citizen leaked audio to me from the Oct. 14 CUPE Local 1004 membership meeting, where members of Vision Vancouver made their case for the union’s support in this audio clip. Late in the meeting, members of the union’s political action committee had their say and revealed the strategy in this audio clip: to block the NPA from a return to power, displace Carr from city council, re-elect a Vision majority, and offer token assistance to COPE and upstart OneCity (whose organizing committee includes CUPE Local 1004 political action committee member Kyla Epstein).
Awkward.
I am a union member, I have to be in order to work in my chosen field, in addition to my basic yearly dues of 288 dollars there is an additional paycheck percentage deducted that can take my yearly dues to over 2000 dollars. My union supports many Marxist/glbtq ideals that I hate as do most of my work mates yet we have absolutely no chance of fighting the misuse of our union funds, as any democratic vote can ,and will be vetoed and over ruled by the executive board. sort of a politbureau with total control of all aspects of the unions business. as union members we all desperately need the transparency act to get the basic information ,now denied us ,to fight this ongoing misappropriation of our money. this election in Vancouver is just one more example of left-wing politicians sucking up, not to the membership, but to the unions extremely corrupt despotic leadership. there will be a change in leadership in Vancouver this Saturday, but for us forced union members the picture is very bleak indeed.

Vancouver has the worst traffic in North America and the progs there say that it’s the model for the world in terms of how to plan transportation in a city… Build no freeways, tear down causeways and replace them with parks, build bike lanes instead of road ways, spend billions on a train system with constant problems. When the province of BC built a new bridge to the suburbs of the Fraser Valley they put a toll on it. Now the progs are agitating for a toll on every bridge in the city… to fund more prog traffic terrorism. I live in Victoria and every time I spend a weekend in Vancouver visiting friends I come back and kiss the ground.

Listening to Gregor Robertson’s eely redirection/non-response to being outed on this “deal” is enough to make you puke.
Mayor Spendshi wants to create a caliphate of sorts here in Calgary.
Bike lanes are cleared of ice and snow even before priority thoroughfares.
Ideology trumps minus 20 Celsius temps – Cyclists are conspicuous by their absence.

Agree. When I belonged to a UAW office union in the early 1970s it was that way then. If the office voted not to strike the union leade3rship found some way to say the vote was improper and then had a secret vote with a select few on a Sunday morning after posting a small notice in an obscure location.
EBD, Gregor Robertson’s redirection is no surprise. No doubt you know about all the lies and redirection being pushed south of the border now that it was discovered that the Democrats lied about Obamacare, all the while telling each other that American were stupid. As usual MSM is covering for him and the party.

The immorality of public sector unions and how that immorality then leads to corrupting the whole system is clear. Ontario Liberals anyone? Leftists/Marxists/Progressives or whatever disguise is convenient these days embrace this inherent immorality for their personal benefit… immorality, lying, cheating, thieving are all key planks in the progressive cause. A compliant corrupt media make sure this inherent immorality and corruption continues without restriction. Gregorie the mad monk Mayor of BC politics is a mendacious ideologically warped animal and a poster child for everything that is wrong within the sphere of modern politics… hope he and his foreign funded comrades are obliterated in the election, unfortunately, the process is so corrupted I don’t see that happening.
