  1. 48% yes!
    46% no!
What, was this a poll of masochists? there are people out there who LIKE taxes?!!
    Color me shocked.

  2. The zombies who vote for a carbon tax are self destructive enough to support any fascist population control method – sorry you green zombies can commit mass suicide if you want but you aren’t taking me with you – just as we have people in authority who have neither the moral or intellectual requirements for public office we now have people without the civil or intellectual capacity to hold a voting franchise.

  3. The booger eatin’ morons who voted in favour of it think that it will help them sit on their @$$es and smoke dope while the rest of us are forced to financially support them.
Last time an idiot asked me if I wanted a free copy of the grope and fail I told him I wouldn’t even use it to wipe my @$$.

  4. For most greenies, a carbon tax is a guilt-trip tax that makes them feel less guilty about squandering energy and resources with their consumptive hipster lifestyles. It’s like the greenwashed idiots who jet around the world, but think it’s not creating pollution because they buy ‘carbon offsets’.
Carbon Taxes used to be called Papal Indulgences; basically bribes to keep sinning with impunity.

  5. Pray tell,
Who are those that say yes?
Is the world really populated with self-depreciating idiots?
The communists had a really good way to railroad you into their way of thinking, they called it self criticism.
We had to do it about grade 6 @ late 50’s, early 60’s of the past century.
Great results if you can lie.

  6. Just tells something about the general readership of the G&M.
Imagine if this poll were on CBC’s website, or the Toronto Star’s.
Also, one can safely assume that the majority of those who voted yes do not for a moment seriously think that they, themselves, personally, out of their own pockets, would have to pay it.
    Just their parents.
    …if you get my drift.

  7. I see there are an absurd number of envious idiots who still think this is actually coming out of the “rich oil companies'” pockets.

  8. I find it interesting that the MSM has virtually not noticed that Australia cancelled their carbon tax because it was just raising prices on everything to go up while completely failing in its attempt to reduce GHG emissions . Bury it deep enough and you can try to pretend that it will still work without destroying the economy.

  9. I’m well aware of who the Globe & Mail caters to, but the closeness of this poll is ridiculous.
Have the electrical bills in Ontario fallen so much that they’ve got money to throw at this?

  10. Does anyone know how much we have to pay in taxes to make the weather nice? I can’t get an answer from either an environmentalist or a politician.

  11. Does anyone know how much we have to pay in taxes to make the weather nice? I can’t get an answer from either an environmentalist or a politician.
Simple. How far you willing to bend over? Oh….and every penny you got.

  12. every level of government could raise all our taxes by 50% and every Canadian would just bow down and pay. Canadians have never seen a tax they would not pay let alone rebel over.

  13. “Who are those that say yes”? Why the ones who believe that everyone else but them will have to pay….that’s who. The imbeciles.

  14. It’s a Globe & Mail poll, forget it. I’m in favour of Trudeau of Dope running on it, he’ll have as much success with it as Dion.

  15. Let us be clear about exactly what this is.
The carbon tax would only be applied out west specifically to the oil industry. quebec would be exempt (because they’re fwench, of course) as would Ontario because they are a bunch of corrupt socialist bastids and/or morons.

  16. So ‘No’ is in the lead with a G&M poll.
That would be thanks to the SDA push…and no surprise that 45% of G&M readers are Trudeau toadies.

  17. Those voting yes don’t really want more taxes. They think that a vote yes is a vote for Justies ‘Dope and Change’ act.

  18. Those that vote “yes” obviously believe someone else will pay the tax, not them. A referendum should be held with names attached so those in favor would be the only ones paying. Idiots.

  19. The LIVs don’t comprehend that every single thing they buy, notably FOOD, is increased in price due to the carbon tax, and their heat, their rent, etc.
    But here is the rub!
My daughter recently received a cheque, courtesy of the BC gov, for the “Climate Change Supplement” in the amount of $131 and change. She gets three of these for the year. This is for “low income earners”. She’s a post-sec student. Now, good for her, but….can anybody see the ridiculous nature of this?
    Pure redistributionism.
I’ve always said the Carbon Tax is just a shell game, moving dollars around, but not solving or changing ANYTHING.
One would expect this kind of shenanigans from the NDP playbook.

  20. This is a hate letter to the West who actually supports Quebec & Ontario. They just don’t get the fact communism does not work.

  21. Pure redistributionism. … the Carbon Tax is just a shell game, moving dollars around, but not solving or changing ANYTHING.
    Exactly —
That’s what they mean by “revenue neutral”. It creates an illusion of economic stability by moving ‘money’ around. Socialists argue that money spent on “low income earners” quickly circulates in their community not lost overseas as foreign aid or expensive disposible military toys & explosives.

  22. “One would expect this kind of shenanigans from the NDP playbook.”
It IS from the NDP playbook, it’s just that the NDP has infiltrated the BC Liberal party.
In Alberta, the NDP have infiltrated the Alberta PCs.

  23. Thanks for that info Dan… I had no idea they were ‘rewarding’ voters with a re-distribution check in the guise of saving the environment.
It all makes sense now…the Dippers, occupiers, and FN tend to love the handouts, Libs love to buy votes.
    (nothing personal against your daughter.)

  24. The Carbon Tax is a user tax, much better than income tax. I am very right wing yet I like carbon taxes.
