11 Replies to “Things White People Liked But Got Canceled”

  1. I’ve caught that wretched “Latino USA” show a few times – usually I can’t last a minute past the opening music. Nothing but white people bashing and open borders promotion.
By far the single worst NPR show is “On the Media” which bills itself as some non-partisan objective weekly look at the media. Of course its anything but. The intro music is some garbage jazz thing which is probably the most pretentious thing you will ever hear in your life.

  2. The dependence on tribalism/tokenism in these media ventures is appalling. As a white and relatively successful person (i.e. currently employed) that doesn’t belong to one of the progressive favored class/race/whatevers, it turns my stomach when they play these shell games to have “enough” employees of a certain stripe.
I used to be one of them, but reality began slapping me in the face.
Now that “Car Talk” is off the air, the only show that I can tolerate in doses for NPR is “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me”. They skewer people they don’t like by the score, but there is an occasional token “conservative”, and the actual comedians do a better job of reading the news than the journalists. Even that show is a bitter pill to swallow most times.

  3. NPR is an organ of the Vast Left-wing Conspiracy, and its primary audience (as shown) is white, middle class, liberal university grads on the left and right coasts. Black people are not listening to NPR. They are listening to gangsta rap 24/7 on their local RapFM station.
As such any money and effort NPR may spend deluding themselves about race, ethnicity and other such twaddle is music to my ears.
Not that I’d ever hear it, mind you. I’d sooner listen to the droning of a diesel engine for hours on the highway than subject myself to NPR. At least the diesel noise won’t make me dumber and less informed. NPR is known to do that.
NPR is one of the reasons Sirius/XM and iPods are so popular. There’s nothing on the radio.
Myself, for my contribution to Diverrrrrrsity I listen to Dutch and German DJs announcing the next EDM tunes in their funny accents on Sirius. Its so fringy and off the mainstream that there’s hardly any propaganda, and so my blood pressure stays within normal limits.

  4. Anything that purports to talk about race and gender usually entails attacking white men and blaming them for all the world’s problems. The disappearance of such a program is a blessing to one’s ears. Its intellectual trappings aside, why would anyone listen and/or get anything out of such a program? If the average black American is a Democrat voter, he doesn’t need a program to vilify the very person feeding him.

  5. Even a show like this has the right of free speech. Let them fall or rise by how good they are not edicts.

  6. Meh – even the lefty elites on the NPR exec know better than to offer race baiters, guilt mongers and vacant suburban trendoids a public mud hole in which to wallow with their neurosis.
The place for identity crisis is the therapist’s couch, wallowing in self pity and self loathing has little entertainment value outside encounter group therapy – sick frigging freaks – the only creatures that will gravitate to such morbid self abasement as race obsessing.

  7. sooooo…serious question, but why does it seem – I am open to being wrong – like white people are in the majority when it comes to caring about ‘diversity’, ‘tolerance,’ blah blah blah. Do the minorities they say they speak for have bigger things to worry about? Like, I dunno, jobs, raising families etc….

  8. Same as the CBC open mouth programs on any given day. All victims of white based greed or bias. A feeding frenzy for socialist grievances.

  9. Interesting that the staffing vs. audience chart doesn’t list Jewish personnel. I’ll bet close to half of NPR’s on air personalities are Jewish, vs. less than 2% of the US population.
A lot of tribe members would have to be let go if NPR wants to move forward to its progressive utopia.
