Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I’m “The Luxury Essentialist”. Somewhat accurate I guess. I work for my hobbies and plan for the time to do my hobbies. I have always said that my work could never define me, unless of course I am working doing the things I love. Otherwise I am trying to make the most money in the shortest amount of time, only to have the most time to do my hobbies and that includes my family.
Apparently I’m “The Purposeful Disrupter”. I don’t just expect the unexpected,I exalt in it!
Is it OK that I gagged a little reading each question’s options?
It’s not o.k. if you didn’t.
From that poll you can learn everything there is to know about what HSBC thinks readers of the New Yorker magazine might fall for.
Not a single question or answer had any relevence to my life whatsoever. They should have just had one of those household income questions first and if you were under 250,000 they just shunt you to the final page.
The rich do live differently from us peons. What can you expect by pampered sheep that bleat all day about anyone else owning what they do.
questions for us would be : Is your view from the concentration camp healthy?
How about…
Now that we (banks and politicians) stole all your retirement money, how do you see your future.
a) picking cans
b) eating grass and road kill
c) wishing you were smart like us
d) doing us all a favor and jumping off a bridge
Paris is so yesterday. How about a sidewalk cafe in Hanoi or Jinghong?
I took the poll and it wAs a stupid HSBC AD
Christ. What’s a guy supposed to do when there aren’t any “none of the above”?
What on Earth is an ‘adult child’? For all of my life I thought is one or the other.
They say of purposeful disrupter.
Aren’t most free thinkers such?
A poll by both the New Yorker and HSBC? Are people really the effing stupid?
An ”adult child” is a person such as our future Prime Minister.
And I do not refer to Harper.
Purposeful disrupter? Last week on facebook I was ruby.
I am the same way as you, we think exactly alike. I quit my engineering job in aviation at 35/hr to move into oil&gas where my hourly wage is lower but I am away for longer times but I’m paid every minute I am on site. Allowing for much more earning potential (130-250k/year) and a lot more time off in greater amounts instead of sat sun off every week I get 2-4 months off during break up ,plus vacation, plus paid time off in between rig moves so I can come home (if it makes economic sense) time off vs fuel consumption vs driving time.ect Ect.
I think we’re all purposeful disrupters here.
True Dat!
That’s my boat too!
The one appropriate answer for me, for all of the questions, which they didn’t include, would have been:
“Getting hammered out in the garage“.
Also, that would have been the correct quiz result.
Mine came up INTJ. I mean, purposeful disruptor.
My sentiments exactly. There was no “none of the above” for the first question, so I said to myself, “f*** it”.
