Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Netanyahu suggested the Presbyterians visit and tour Israel and then go tour Libya, Syria, Iraq. If the Presbyterians do it in that order, when the Arabs see the new Israeli visitation stamps on their passports, they’ll be thrown in prison so fast it’ll make their heads spin.
LOL
The is same group that voted for same-sex marriage, resolved that children who survive abortions should NOT be helped medically. “Apostate” is an old word that needs to be reclaimed by the church.
And if they make it through the border they’ll be raped and then murdered most likely. But remember everyone, Israelis are oppressing the palestinians by demanding they stop attacking them. What a bunch of meanies.
Presbyterian: Old Aramaic word, “Jackal brave when far from wolf”
The Presbyterians went the way of the United church long ago. They gave up on standing for morality ad faith in place of pandering to the feminists and screeching demands for political correctness.
BTW it was not much better in the 60s when many old Presbyterians felt free to slander Judaism. Many but not all.
However they now feel free to take up any immoral cause to follow the dogma of the left.
Its always these blasted Israelis, setting fire to perfectly good straw men and confusing the issue with facts. Don’t they know how hard it is for a commie to hide under a churchman’s collar these days?
Darn that Netanyahu guy with his dad-blasted truthiness!
Scratch A Presbeyterian Ear:
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers,
having itching ears;
You and Kate both misspelled PRESBYTERIAN.
And yes, Presbyterians are as#holes.
Bibi is on point as usual…
Oh and what happened to that other piece of advice from someone the Presbyterians ostensibly follow?
“Love your neighbor as yourself.”
So I gather a new spiritual advice is being proffered:
“Kauft nicht bei Juden!” – Don’t buy from Jews.
Evidently, black farce isn’t the Presbyterians strong suit…
So they are starting up the the Meshugenah Investment Fund For the Eschatologically Deranged – MIFFED

“Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile!” John 1:47
You have to give Netanyahu credit. He just tells it like it is.
Presbyterians in the U.S. should be truly ashamed of the position that their church took on Israel.
The Scots who brought their Calvinist ways and the Presbyterian Church to the New World are surely spinning in their graves.
“The Presbyterians went the way of the United church long ago. They gave up on standing for morality ad faith in place of pandering to the feminists and screeching demands for political correctness.”
It won’t help them any more than it has workedfor the United Church.
Another doomed Protestant denomination.
Yes, that high-pitched whine is indeed the sound of their Scottish Calvinist forefathers spinning like tops in their graves.
“The Presbyterians went the way of the United church long ago. They gave up on standing for morality ad faith in place of pandering to the feminists and screeching demands for political correctness.”
Ha. Sounds just like the Catholics to me! And you can also add hypocrites to the Catholic columm in the table.
Anyway, good for Netanyahu.
Presbyterians: leftists against God’s chosen people.
There’s a song out with the line:
Its hard to find a Presbyterian down on his knees
He’s too busy dotting ‘I’s and crossing his tees.
A couple of young men who were raised in the Anabaptist tradition went to a Presbyterian church where it was assumed that from their vast knowledge of the Bible and theology that they had seminary training. They both laughed and said “no we just went to Sunday School every week”. They didn’t stay in that church very long because they found it to be a theological and spiritual wasteland. I guess at one meeting they quoted John Calvin and were then set upon and asked to leave.
Whew— good for BBN for having the nads to speak his mind. This action by the PCA is an embarrassment to the body of Christ. Honestly, will you divest yourself of Coca-Cola b/c they sell their products in Israel? surely there are no Caterpillar products used in Palestine.
I can only echo the sentiments of Calvinist ancestors spinning in their graves. There are certainly still many, many members of the PCA who maintain proper dogma— this has got to be the work of the fringe elite in the PCA?
“many members of the PCA who maintain proper dogma”
The term is doctrine.
Doctrine is a codification of beliefs or a body of teachings or instructions, taught principles or positions, as the body of teachings in a branch of knowledge or belief system.
Dogma is a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority, such as the pope, as incontrovertibly true.
Protestants don’t have popes and they don’t have dogma, they have doctrine.
The protestant movement began with the rejection of the pope’s dogma.
Oz nailed it…what Oz said.
Isn’t Presbyterian the American word for Anglican?
Sounds about the same up here, too.
It’s PC(USA). Not the PCA!
I wouldn’t pay too much attention to hair-splitting distinctions between dogma and doctrine coming from someone who thinks that the *PCA* is the mainline-lefty flavor of Presbyterian.
“The Presbyterians went the way of the United church long ago.”
and
“And yes, Presbyterians are as#holes.”
Now hold on there a minute fellows. First of all, Bibi’s invitation was directed to the Moderators and Executive of the US Presbyterian Church. They’re the ones who decided to piss on Israel – not the adherents, and not the Presbyterian Church of Canada…at least not yet.
The good news is that individual Presbyterian churches in Canada (and maybe in the US) are pretty well run by the congregations. So, if a Minister gets too political in his preachings, the Elders can sit down and have a little talk with him. And if he’s not willing to listen, he goes looking for another parish. I’d be hard pressed to come up with another Christian church that confers this kind of independence on its parishes.
BTW, I’m a member of the Presbyterian Church of Canada. I can be (and have been its harshest critic. When the day comes that the dickheads at the helm of the PCC spout this kind of political drivel, I’ll be leaving.
PCUSA, CPUSA. A distinction without a difference.
Episcopalian are the Yank Anglicans (that’s a mouthful)
And yeah, much the same as the Prebys and the Uniteds.
Apostate churches, nuff said.
Someone should remind them who that Jesus guy was, and where he was from…..after all, they claim to be a “Christian” church?
Says it all:

To the Church of Laodicea
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
Not hard to look good when being compared to savages…always get a kick out of the ‘only democracy in the ME’ statement.
As though two wolves and a lamb deciding dinner is a good thing. Jesus found out how that works…
I thought the leftists, to whom PM. Netanyahu is speaking when he is being interviewed on “Meet the Depressed” loved the notion of democracy. So of course he’s saying this to look good to those two wolves deciding which lamb to have for dinner..
So another church has left Christ and joined the church of Satan. This has been foretold.
Episcopalian is the US counterpart to Anglican.
Now I am starting to realize why the princples of spirituality: Honesty,Open-mindedness,Willingness,Integrity,Dignity,Respect,Trust,Faith,and Unconditional Love, are going out of style so fast. I figure within 50 years the world will be back to what it was in regards to religion and/or spirituality 5000 years ago.
We are so fubared!
The UCC was formed by the uniting of the Presbyterians and the Methodists along with a few other minor denominations. Some of the Presbyterians decided not to join in the UCC and so in Canada their remains a PCC. Interestingly there is a strong ethnic face to the PCC with several congregations holding services in their native language. A dear friend of mine attends the Korean speaking Presbyterian church.
The problem with the UCC/PCC/PCA etc is that they failed to control their seminaries which are, all too often, turning out ministers that are not Christian. The graduates may not be Christian but they are socialist and they do have a socialist agenda. The laity is largely ignorant of Christianity and its teaching or foundations so the non-Christian clergy co-opt the laity into blithely venturing forth on socialist crusades.
Yes, I misspelled Presbyterian. In my defense, I spotted it without being told.
I posted a transcript of Netanyahu’s remarks and added your pointed comment.
Presbyterian , a watered down drink, watered down morals
You are slagging a lot of very good people who do many good works around the world. I am Presbyterian and am a supporter of Netanyahu and Israel.
Earl you are aware of Mark 10:18? One of the greatest evils in the world is people thinking they are doing good. The progressives we love to loath think they are doing good as they take away one freedom after another.
II Corinthians 6
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
17 “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord.
When you decide it is time to go, and that time will come, remember that it was the Councils of the Roman Catholic Church which decided which texts go into the Bible. The Catholic Church is where you can receive the Sacraments, and at Mass eat the true Body and Blood of Christ. Y’know, that whole John 6 stuff. Come and see the goodness of the Lord. In the United States RCIA, Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults usually starts in September and runs through the Easter Vigil. They don’t mess around with converts they make sure you know what you are signing up for. Give it a try, you will be glad you did.
When you decide it is time to go, and that time will come, remember that it was the Councils of the Roman Catholic Church which decided which texts go into the Bible.
A nice belief, but not true.
“Thousands of infidels to-day believe and teach that the Council of Nice, held in A.D. 325, separated the “spurious” scriptures from the genuine ones, by some vote, or trick, when the sacred books were placed under a communion table, and, after prayer, the inspired books jumped upon the table, while the false books remained beneath.
This story originated with one “John Pappus”, and infidels make a great mistake in identifying him with “Papias”, or “Pappius”, one of the earliest Fathers, called by Eusebius (iii. 36) a “Bishop” of Hierapolis, who wrote about A.D. 115. The Encycl. Brit ., 11th (Camb.) ed., vol. xx, p. 737, suggests about A.D. 60-135 as the period of his life.
But John Pappus, who gave currency to the above story, was a German theologian born in 1549. In 1601 he published the text of an Anonymous Greek MS. This MS. cannot be older than A.D. 870, because it mentions events occurring in 869. Now the Council of Nice was held 544 years before, and all its members had been dead and buried for some five centuries. The Council of Nice was not called to decide the Canon. Nothing relating to the Canon of Scripture can be found in any of its canons or acts. And, even if it were otherwise, the votes of Councils could no more settle the Canon of the New Testament than a Town Council could settle the laws of a nation.”
–E.W. Bullinger
“…remember that it was the Councils of the Roman Catholic Church which decided which texts go into the Bible…Give it a try, you will be glad you did.”
Thanks, but no thanks. Too much bell-ringin’ and bowin’ for this old cowboy.
Be *very* careful in condemning *all* Presbyterians. There are multiple denominations that are Presbyterian, some Biblically conservative and some Biblically and politically leftist. This was an action taken by the so called main-line Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a.k.a. PC(USA). This was not the Presbyterian Church in America, a.k.a. PCA. They are very different organizations in terms of just about everything except the structure of their governance.
