After the state House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 310 in May, Gov. John Kasich signature was all that was missing to ensure Ohio’s clean-energy fall from grace. The standards–first passed in 2008 and reauthorized two years ago–previously required the state’s utilities to sell more solar and wind energy each year and charged them with finding efficiency solutions for their customers. Kasich’s signing means the standards are put on hold until 2017, when a committee formed by the bill’s passage could agree to permanently freeze them.
Kasich signed the bill Friday without any comment to the media…
Do consider dropping a few words in their comments.

Ecowatch is upset because their own supporters money (Big Green) will have to be used to fuel their unicorn green utopia. By their own logic, if alternative energy solutions are so economically viable then why does funding it need to be forced out of the pockets of taxpayers. Surely, some free thinking enterprising individual or business will take advantage of this so called cheaper alternative energy to undercut fossil fuel competitors and dominate market share, no?
One cannot counter irrational beliefs by using rational statements/arguments. The ‘irrational’ people in this world will believe something because they want! to believe it. Nothing else matters. Mathematics, track record, science or rationalization, as far as they are concerned, does not even exist. In their mind they simply stamp it with a big NA (not applicable).
Ever heard someone say ‘Well, yes, I see what you mean but that would be against my religion’. (NA)
So how to defend one’s livelihood and well being from the Climate Alarmist hordes?? By mocking them. My making fun of them. By pointing out how gullible they are. That is exactly what they did to the church goers. Then they dreamed up a new kind of religion that is a hundred times more burdensome and irrational.
Am I wrong?
Ron,
You’re not wrong.
Kasich did the right thing, and deserves some support for this, as Republicans typically immediately cave to anyone playing the race or environment cards.
Something I have to remind too many of my conservative friends of too often: you can’t reason someone out of a position they weren’t reasoned into to begin with.
I’d rather the bill eliminates the standards entirely but this is still pretty good. There is a large clutch of rather good GOP governors.
My Gawd. What a racist,anti-business,white prievelged a%%hole. How dare he tell the eco-nazis to shove it! May hordes of Gorebulls,Fruit Flies,Moores,Manns, etc invade his state. Oh wait. He doesn’t want Ohio to turn into Californicated? Well, the war of Northern Aggression did start around there.
What’s with enviromorons?? Wind and solar need pretty close to 100 % backup, mostly from carbon spewing sources. Building power capacity at 200 % of need can not be good for the environment.
Good for the governor. There is still some sanity around. I left a little note saying so.
Me too, but reading some of those comments It’s hard to believe how brainwashed and uneducated the green fanatics can be. Under Darwin’s law many of them should not even exist. If it took brains to crap, they should have died of constipation by now.
