1. I think Whittle’s is a big insight. We’re all familiar with Gramsci, Alinsky, Cloward-Piven, et al., and their strategies of destroying western civilization “from the inside”, so to speak. If you really want wreck western civilization, destroy its foundations: destroy thought itself, especially rationality. Gaslight ’em. The Frankfurt School Critical Theorists, and those in the business of wrecking language, are on to this.
   But notice that they have to use thought in their endeavours to wreck it!

2. Yep! I continue to be surprised by my many American friends on their lack of awareness with the background of the many political maneuvers by the Democratic Party to advance the agenda of centralized control.
   Possibly this example may show what I have experienced. A good friend, someone with significant experience in the news printing side of newspapers, now retired responded as follows.
   The discussion was around the inner city children level of education. Charter schools verses public education etc. I commented on the destruction of the Afro-American family by L.B.J. The immediate reaction from my friend was centered on the fact he and his first wife were on the front lines of the civil rights protests in the early 1960’s.
   He brought out the threats to his employment by the marketing/advertising divisions of his newspaper employers. It was only the support of his publisher which maintained his position. The response was so spontaneous and heartfelt my reaction was to commend his courage, which was very real. I moved the discussion to other, more comfortable, matters for the groups attention.
   Unfortunately there does not seem to be the same passion for what is correct in the general North American society now. Or I am just getting to be another old person. Cheers;

3. Gaslighting is alive and well in Ontario this election. When you try to mention the billions, yes billions of taxpayer’s dollars that went to buy election seats, fill e-health exec’s pockets, or a dozen other cons, you are treated like a crazy man by the sheeple here.

4. The moral of the story being that Progressive leaders are sociopaths. And hence any informed voter who votes for a sociopath needs his or her head examined.

6. MikeSr – Totally your choice, and much easier for the long-term friendship for you to react this way. What do you think your friend’s reaction to a question like “don’t you mind that they used you? Because of good people like you, they were able to tear down a bad system and make sure that nothing better replaced it. Do you want good results for those in the inner cities, or are you satisfied that ‘you made a difference’ without looking into the difference for for the greater good or the greater evil?” These are not questions that anyone of good intentions want to face, but we know what is paved with good intentions.
   On the feature video – bang on. From this view, the dissembling isn’t just an accidental and occasional occurance, it’s by design. It does explain a lot of how items are covered. I’m surprised that Mark Steyn (in his movie and music aficionado role) didn’t come up with this first.

7. Being in Ontari-owe, I thought people were now using gas lighting in their homes rather than electricity.

EKOS is gaslighting the Ontario electorate into thinking Wynne and the Ont Grits are “popular.” His outlier poll has skewed others that clearly show Ontario voters are set to finally reject the Grits. EKOS is of course the company of Frank Graves, a staunch Liberal who has produced many push polls in his day, including calling the 2015 federal election as much closer than the other polls and then predicting a “possible” Grit minority government. IOW he tried to gaslight voters into thinking they should vote for the “popular” Grits against their better judgement.
   Gaslighting is particularly evident in the anti-fracking movement, where somebody somewhere (aka the Council of Canadians “Academy”) conducts a “study” that states “maybe” or “possibly,” without foundation whatsoever, fracking releases carcinogens into water tables thus contaminating them. When confronted with the reality that there is not one single documented case of water contamination from fracking (I know it’s only been 70 years since fracking began), they state, of course, that view is well, “crazy.” Sound familiar? Too bad for them their obfuscation and mendacity is becoming clearer each day, along with the related subset of warmist/watermelons.
   At some point, when the victim is removed from the smothering all encompassing one side of the story, the compliant media is forced to ditch them, as they were in Harper’s first victory where the Grits argued, in their attack ads, that women would be forced to have an abortion in the back alley of an aircraft carrier, shot by a soldier in our streets with an unregistered handgun. From there Paul Martin went into the dustbin of history when his gaslighting no longer worked and the media were forced to abandon him because now they were under scrutiny for misleading the public and showing their intellectual laziness and bias.

    Are they all sociopaths or just plain evil or just stupid?
    I’m thinking they’re evil reprobates with no redeeming characteristics, people with seared consciences who fail at math and have no self control, just no ability to delay gratification and reason beyond how they feel at any given moment.
    Sometimes I wonder how they were ever potty trained, progs are such a bunch of shitbirds.
