Environmentalists The World Over Finally Admit They’ve Made It All Up

Nahhh, not really. Happy April Fools Day!
James Delingpole reports on the never-ending PR campaign where facts don’t matter – here, here, & here.

Green ideologues working for the British government helped “sex up” the latest Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC) report in order to make its conclusions sound more scary than the evidence warrants, it emerged today.

The draft version of the report’s Summary For Policymakers made the startling admission that the economic damage caused by “climate change” would be between 0.2 and 2 percent of global GDP – significantly less than the doomsday predictions made in the 2006 Stern report (which estimated the damage at between 5 and 20 percent of global GDP).

Just in time for April Fools’ Day, the MSM was doing a full court propaganda campaign yesterday. Here’s a sampling full of mistruths and outright fiction. Dr. Tim Ball is trying to fight back against the propagandists.

  1. Saying there will be war, pestilence, plague and famine isn’t a very difficult prediction; it’s been going on a long time.

  2. “trigger “hotspots of hunger” among the world’s poorest people”
No hamburger helper for the horribly hapless.
Is there nothing that alliteration can’t do?

  3. From my personal experience just these past two weeks, the MMGW propaganda machine has been in overdrive. Not only that but the useful idiots we call the media now seem to see ad hominem attacks against all us IPCC atheists as fair game….maybe even their new duty.
As much as I respect Bill Nye the science dude, I would like to ask him one very simple question. Exactly when did the scientific community decide that a show of hands(consensus)was good enough to replace proper scientific method? Cripes, I would doubt the Theory of Evolution too if it was based on a group of scientists standing next to a crystal ball saying “it’s true because we all agree it is”. Also, I am still flabbergasted ANY scientist would call fortune-telling by a human designed computer program(fallible by it’s very definition) irrefutable evidence of anything.
Yet, I am attacked as some devious toady for big oil for simply exercising the most basic responsibility of EVERY scientist……healthy skepticism.
We have a loooong road ahead of us yet. Hang in there, Dr. Ball.

  4. “As much as I respect Bill Nye the science dude”
I respectfully and seriously suggest you re-evaluate your idols, or read up on the scientific method. Bill Nye is to science what Jesse Jackson is to good race relations.
And Robert….shouldn’t that be happy April Canadian tax-payer Day?

  5. We should keep re-posting the climate alarmism of the scientists of the early 1970’s,because their message today is the same as it was then.
When even the most credulous person sees their predictions back then were totally wrong, such as mass starvation by the 80’s,maybe a light will go on upstairs.
Donna Friesen on Global last night was so adamant in her report on this IPCC report, she looked like a caricature of a real News reader.

  6. Look, when the AGW apocalypse didn’t come in 2011 and 2012 as Al Gore and many others predicted; the boat pretty much at that point had sailed on convincing the public that AGW is important issue.
That said, we do run the real risk of having new taxes and treaties rammed down our throats by politicians against the will of the folks.
I’m curious to see, if in the near future, some European governments change their tune on AGW considering recent issues with the cost and reliability of power generation. We’ve recently seen some countries join Canada in exposing this farce.

  7. Fill the names and dates from any period in history, the details change but the message is always the same: To avert the end of the world as we know it, all power and wealth must be concentrated in their hands and we must obey them.

  8. I’ve got no time to worry about AGW.
I’m all consumed with worrying about the Ozone Layer. We’re all going to die of cancer! Send money now!

  9. If ‘Environmentalists The World Over Finally Admit They’ve Made It All Up’ the Legacy Media would embargo the story and the Great Unwashed LIVs who’ve staked their existence on environmental kowtowing would keep on keeping on.

  10. “Cripes, I would doubt the Theory of Evolution too if it was based on a group of scientists standing next to a crystal ball saying “it’s true because we all agree it is”.
First of all I’m glad you’re still aware that it’s a THEORY.
What if the Origin-of-life experiment was rendered meaningless, a Tree of Life had been uprooted by the Cambrian Explosion, embryo drawings were doctored, and a fossil record stubbornly refused to yield the transitional forms crucial to evolutionary theory? Would you not then have at least a few doubts? This is the same thing as what’s going on with the IPCC.

  11. As I was dozing off in my armchair last night, this was the opening salvo on CBC News: a veritable jeremiad of climate disasters. I thought Mansbridge and his “news team” had completely lost their minds!
I did the only thing I could do: I quickly changed channels.
More fool me for watching CBC News. I should have known better.

  12. Justhinkin, I respect Bill Nye because of his dogged fight to keep creationism retardation from infecting American public schools.
River Rat, if clear proof were provided that Darwin was wrong, why would any clear thinking individual not accept it? The problem is, that doesn’t exist, but there is overwhelming quality evidence that Darwin was right, so why would clear thinking people not accept that? Religious agendas, the ONLY reason. That is why I have learned to not waste my time dealing with people who deny mounds of ever increasing irrefutable evidence in favor of 2,000 year old superstitions.
The anti-MMGW fight is difficult enough to wage without the fairy tale rantings of creationists making us all look like nothing more than a bunch of denying, anti-science wackos.

  13. Oh yes – higher temperatures will lead to reduced food production … I’d like to see one or two of these morons
try to raise wheat in Alberta or Saskatchewan, or pinot noir grapes in Prince Edward County of Ontario, as
the winemaker Norman Hardie does (I heard Hardie give a talk last year on how he grows his grapes – the secret
is to hill the grapes – not easy).

  14. …if clear proof were provided that Darwin was wrong, why would any clear thinking individual not accept it?
The clear proof is right in front of you. Evolution stopped, therefore it never existed in the first place.
If that were not true there would be an unbroken living line all the way to the higher lifeforms continuously climbing out of the ooze.

  15. The orchestrated panic sounds, rise to a crescendo.
    Enjoy.
Embrace the propaganda, is there anything Glowball warming does not cause?
Look it even improves your brains if you’re a fool.
I am loving the shrill desperation of these fools and bandits.
They staked their reputations on this scam, it did not sell.
I love the internet that never forgets.
Fool or rogue, it matters not.
Remember these people desire to strip you of your assets and freedom, in response to a fear only they can imagine.
I now believe that the fear of CO2 can best be cured by insisting the concerned hold their breath, for an hour each day.

  16. First off, you didn’t answer my question. Secondly, doesn’t a theory have to be proven not disproven? Thirdly, I didn’t say anything about religion or creation.
If there was “overwhelming quality evidence that Darwin was right”, why do evolutionary scientists falsify fossils (Java man, archaeorapter etc.)? Doesn’t that smack of fraud to you? Kinda like the “hockey stick graph”, where so called scientists fudge their data to conform to a preconceived idea.

  17. Motives for scientific fraud are legion…
The “Java Man” hoax is most likely rent/fame-seeking. Looking for grant money for more “research”….
“The Hockey Stick” is politically/rent seeking motivated.
Back in the day the “Piltdown Man” was perhaps more virtuous…just an obscure clergyman seeking fame not fortune.
It appears modern scientific fraud is largely money motivated. Usually the defence against skepticism is projection…(in the pay of BIG OIL or the Koch brothers)….

  18. Yes, the LSM has been in overdrive mode for the last week, no doubt co-ordinated, but by whom?
Their overacting is pathetic, beyond reproach. In fact tonight, Ted Chernecki was bloviating over global warming, and in the next sebtence, excitedly exclaimed the worry over the extreme winter North America just had……
Do they proofread or understand what they read, write or say, or is it done by extortion?
    LSM….all BS, all the time!
