  1. The air quality in Beijing has even been compared to a nuclear winter. But how does that compare to where you live?
Website Air Pollution in Asia tracks China’s Air Quality Index in real time—as well as in other locations around the world. Thus, it’s possible to compare, say, where you live to China—and, in turn, really put into context just how big of a problem pollution is for the country.

  2. The Rig Workers’ Alphabet is pretty good. Nice photos of mainly grounded icebergs, good views of St. John’s,
and some formidable waves. I know two or three people who have worked on those rigs.
Rig work is easier in the Gulf of Mexico because unless there is a hurricane the sea state is not formidable.

  4. Re: N of 60 Air Pollution article.
Thanks–good article. I`m glad I live in a windy part of the prairies.
I did see air quality similar to Beijing’s when I was in Australia during a bush fire.
    Very sickening!

  5. Yes, the maps show what happened when America’s quest for the cheapest products drove manufacturing to China. But it doesn’t tell the whole story.
Once in the atmosphere, this toxic heavy metal can move thousands of kilometers from its source. The latest report from the United Nations Environment Programme indicates that half the mercury falling on
North America comes from outside the continent.
Increased energy use in the Asian region pumps over 1,000 tonnes of mercury into the atmosphere each year, compared to 210 tonnes in North America

Nice weather right now, (end of summer out here), but as we are just preparing to run 9-5/8” casing guess it will turn to custard any time soon.

“When I complained about it, my brother and sister tried to make me touch electrical sockets with wet hands, to electrocute me, and make it look like an accident,” the woman said.
According to the Halo Project, there are approximately 12 reported honour killings per year in the United Kingdom. This does not take into account the many people who are taken abroad and whose whereabouts are unknown.

  9. Love the fear-mongering hyberbole…”The air quality in Beijing has even been compared to a nuclear winter” Whoopie. Has anybody actually experienced a nuclear winter to compare to?? Didn’t think so. They take a true,real-life problem(caused by leftards and computor models themselves)and then throw in scare tactics to get the LIVs and LIPs running around in usefull idjit circles, again. What happened to real science? (otherwise, good article)

  10. Yeah, fear-mongering hyperbole is the only thing the leftards have going for them anymore. The MSM uses it all the time to get the sheeple’s attention.
Nonetheless, toxic pollution is the biggest problem humans cause. That’s the unintended consequence of buying cheap disposable crap from MalWart.

  15. It’s not CAGW/IPCC. It’s ’bout the throwing of the faux science of economics and its bastard sister, statistics, under the bus.

“The Bank of Canada is rethinking how it analyzing the economy, in part by putting less faith in computer models and more on anecdotal information and conversations with Canadians.
In a message from governor Stephen Poloz, the central bank said its confidence in its models was shaken somewhat last year by the economy’s underperformance and its inability to foresee events.
The message was contained in the bank’s annual report, released Friday.
“We are working hard to refine those models, but this experience is also leading us to put increased emphasis on anecdotal evidence — real conversations with real Canadians making real economic decisions,” Poloz says in a foreward.”

  18. Question….
Does anyone know anything about Quadcopter/Drones? I am doing some research for a work related project and so far the biggest issue is limited flight time duration.
The Quad we need would require roughly the specs of the one you see here by DJI.
Seriously 3K USD up to maybe 4K for a really great solution.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
