  1. That should read “progressive conservative talk show host” rather than “conservative”. Although right of centre, Gormley is not that conservative, nor all that right wing. I could point out examples nearly every single day, but I guess if you have any radio host on air in Saskatchewan, who is positioned right of centre, you take it.
He’ll never live down, nor will I ever forget his multi week attempt at getting a bridge named after a devout global warming activist, enviromentalist wacko, left wing zealot, who not only hates Saskatoon but this whole great province. That piece of infrastructure would have been in our face, and those of our children for several decades, possibly longer that a century.
To hear him talk about shmoosing with left wing liberals who come to town, and his attempts to suck up to them, made me sick and turn the channel. Every week day at 10:00am a true consevative comes on the radio, and I’m so greatful for living as close to the 49th that I can pick up the broadcast clearly.

    Link please.

    Who was that?

  4. I used to listen to Rush religiously at one time. I’d take him out to the garden to pull weeds, I’d try to hear him over the drone of the tractor while cultivating, I’d fight with hubby on trips over what station to listen to. He’s really good a analyzing politics but he obviously knows nothing about picking women. He should take up with the mothers of his brides, they might be more compatible.

  5. I think that you’d find that that “campaign” was done with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek. The point being that the bridge stood for everything that Joni is against. Like progress, intellect, growth etc. He was never serious. I don’t recall John having any sympathy for her and if you know John at all, his views on AGW are very well known i.e. he thinks it’s bunk.

  6. Oh, lighten up. He’s got his nannystate side, but he’s as conservative as is permitted on the Rawlco airwaves.

  7. I quit listening to him shortly after he named Ralph Goodale a ‘hero’ on heros and zeros…

  8. The book is truly a different book than Left Out. The thing that surprised me is the positive good natured words of wisdom; how an improved attitude can lead to a easier life. Right, left, westener, eastener, anyone could use the advice offered here.

  9. We listen to Gormley most days. Engaging, intellectual, very informative, excellent interviews. Not at all like the Leader Post!

  10. I love it when Gormley engages in debate on air with lefties. He comes armed with facts, figures and common sense. The lefties bring along their usual arsenal of innuendo, exaggeration, heresay, bluster and drivel. After being administered a prolonged and severe verbal slapdown, the lefties always counter with a volley of insults and name-calling before beating a hasty retreat.
    Great entertainment.
