If this happens i think we need to work with the Indians to secure the land around the major cities we would need to re route the trans Canada around the new country and i would as a buffer put the jails all jails every single jail and half way house along the boarder …then i would make a solid 30-60km section from there our national dump, where every single piece of garbage from every single part of the country would be shipped and dumped along the boarder we would have a dump for at least 100 years. and no matter which way the wind blew the country of Quebec would smell how we feel about them!! I would also allow them to immigrate to Canada only after signing a declaration of agreeing to Canada being an English speaking nation only, also any uprising or over throw attempts or coup’s would be punishable by hanging in the public square, any observation of enforcing french indoctrination or propaganda would be considered treason and would be punishable by either instantly stripping the citizen of there citizenship,and all worldly possessions acquired in Canada (and donated to the poor)all the way up to and including death by hanging in the public square. You suggestion that bilingualism costs $8 – $50 billion a year is a broad estimate but I suggest the higher end is probably more accurate. What country has spent more money trying to appease a minority who do not want to be part of this country. In ways I can sympathize with French Quebeckers who were used by the Liebel Party of Canada for years as a means of ruling this country. It is entirely possible that young Turdeau will repeat his father’s act and do the same thing. It is very much in Ontario’s interests to keep Quebec in the country. Failure to do so would alter the political makeup of the nation to such an extent that they would never regain power.

Canadians will never, ever learn that there can be absolutely no accommodation with arseholes. If Montreal’s Anglos had turned the 2/20 and the 4/40 into parking lots when Bill 101 was just a talking point, none of this would have happened.
There was a suggestion within the comments that rather than have a referendum in Quebec whether separation should be pursued, a referendum to determine if the ROC wants to keep these spoiled brats in Confederation might be more appropriate.
