NYC Police Commission Bill Bratton is going to participate in the upcoming St. Patrick’s day parade!
Why is this news? Because by doing so he’ll be hurting other people’s feelings:
“To have someone who is in charge of the safety of this city march in a parade that is breathing hate…is an extremely giant step in the wrong direction,” said Eunic Ortiz, president of Stonewall Democrats.
In what conceivable sense, you might wonder, is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade “breathing hate”?
The parade does not allow groups bearing signs or banners identifying them as gay or lesbian to march.
Maybe that’s because it’s not the “St. Patrick’s Day Gay Pride Parade.” New York City already has an annual Gay Pride Parade, one that runs down the same street — Fifth Avenue — as the St. Paddy’s parade, and draws millions of spectators.
The NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which has been staged annually for a remarkable 253 years, is not a venue for promoting a dog’s breakfast of activist causes. When the parade organizers — all of them volunteers — are signing up participants, should they be forced to allow placard-and-banner-waving anti-Keystone pipeline activists? How about anti-gay groups? Bike lane proponents? The The NAACP? Shariah law proponents? Anti-G8 protesters? Scottish separatists? PETA?
Come as you are, gay or straight, black, Asian, or white, and celebrate St. Patrick’s day.
Nota bene: Boston’s mayor is joining NY mayor Bill de Blasio in boycotting his city’s upcoming parade “unless it agrees to stop excluding gay and lesbian groups from it’s procession” — even though the parade organizer has made clear that gays and lesbians are obviously not excluded from the procession.
So if no one is barred from joining in the fun because of their sexual orientation, what, exactly, is the problem? That’s a question that can only be answered by the new “gay bashers“.
It is time to stop letting special interest groups from hijacking every time honored event that comes along.
It’s really time to tell the Gay/Lesbian folks that they are in a MINORITY population-wise. Maybe the rest of normal society should finally get off it’s nether region and tell these folks the truth.

Last time I checked St Patrick was one of those Catholic Christian type saints; who took the teachings of the Church somewhat seriously.

I wouldn’t put it past these perverts forcing schools into debauched education. To have a law complying that kids be forced to experience a gay “intimate” experiance, as part of the “learning’ experience. Kinda like mentally deficient Fathers used to take their sons to brothels.

The police commissioner is afraid of what others might say about him. It has nothing to do about offense or bigotry. And keep in mind that offense must be taken. It cannot be given.
Both Boston and NYC mayors are set to boycott this year’s SPD parade according to the article. Isn’t that somewhat like Mayor Ford’s position on Toronto’s Gay Pride parade? Seems he is under a lot of flack for doing what the other two choose to do.
Fearless forecast > next thing they’ll demand is a group of gay elves (dwarfs; midgets; little people, or whatever they’re calling themselves this month) marching with a large rainbow banner in the annual Santa Claus parade.
Gay demands have quickly morphed from ‘equal rights’ and ‘respect’ to “LOVE US, DAMN YOU, LOVE US!… OR ELSE!!!”

One would think that boycotting Saint Paddy would have negative ramifications for politicians in NY and Boston. More queers than Irish? I guess.
