Reminds me of the Rolling Hills AB Marathon course run back in the 80’s. There was only one corner and one hill, both in the 1st half mile- a 45 degree corner to cross the level railroad crossing, which was the hill. Then a stand of trees at a farmstead, 19 miles distant. Depending on the wind direction on race day, it was either a personal best or personal worst. The highlight was the home cooked meal provided by the women of the town after you finished. And always trophies for the first 20 finishers. From Stanley Cup size for 1st to 6 inches high for 20th. Truly a remarkable community event from all perspectives.
One thing about it, the socialists kept it from becoming too crowded.
out here we can see the real horizon. we don’t hide it like in the east!! no trees, buildings, piles of rock, etc., to get in the way!!
the sunrises outside my front window are fabulous and somewhat make up for the god aweful cold weather.
we only use electricity to run our car lights and radio. what is an electric car but a city dweller sop to globull warming. besides, my drives are all outside the endurance of an electric car in minus 35 degree ambient temp.
bagadonitz dealt with Princess Diana’s death AND the flatness of Saskatchewan all in the same week no less.

Geez, that’s central and southern Saskatchewan for you. God’s country. Want hills & trees, go north to Waskasiu, or south to the Cypress Hills. You can have the Coast Mountains….most times you can’t see the damned things for clouds and rain…or condos, if you live on the ground floor.
And yeah, the sunsets/sunrises are fantastic. Northern Lights in winter and a night time vista that can’t be beat in summer. Wide angle lenses only need apply.
The only change of scenery in the south is when you drop into a valley. Keep your eyes peeled cause they can sneak up on you unawares.

Most people comment on the LAND, but it’s the SKY, or the combination of land and sky, that makes the prairies what they are, at least to me (born and raised in Calgary, now retired just south of Owen Sound, ON which is another amazingly beautiful part of this country).
I agree with that. When I first visited Saskatchewan I thought it would be pretty boring scenery — not so. You are always watching the sky. Beautiful photo.
Well, there you have it. It is unanimous, almost that Saskatchewan is a beautiful province, especially when the socialists are not in power.
You haven’t been to the part of Kansas I have – ruler level as far as the eye could see in all four directions.
