Behind President Barack Obama’s gripe to Bill O’Reilly that Fox News is always unfair to him stood a deeper resentment that has poisoned the soul of progressives for some time: Hollywood and academia might still be firmly in the grip of the orthodox left, but part of the media has managed to wriggle free. Liberals still can’t get over this fact, and their rearguard actions to regain control come in different forms: some, like our President’s objections, are innocuously transparent and amusing; others, like a recent research report on the future of media by the Brookings Institution, are more circuitous and perhaps more worrying.
In the joint paper by two of its heavy hitters, the well-known and influential Washington think tank lays out a plan that would reverse some key media trends of the past few years, such as the growth of partisan commentary, citizen journalism and Americans’ new-found ability to readily find opinions they like. The paper was authored by the Vice President for Governance and founding director of the Center for Technology Innovation, Darrel West, and Web Content and Digital Media Coordinator, Beth Stone. They write in the most academic and detached of tones and if you weren’t careful, you wouldn’t notice how some of their recommendations would silence the new diversity of views.
Pretty soon we can all have the “Obama-Nation(tm)” north batch plant coming to a riding near you!
Yeah, they are all for intellectual diversity until it opposes their views.

The dreaded NAU has finally come full circle.
Members of the same team that got Senator Barack Obama elected and left the mighty USA in a gutter of despair are running Canada’s Liberal contender for prime minister—poised to win the 2015 federal election.
Obama’s former economic czar Larry Summers, media described as “now the intellectual guiding light for Mr. Trudeau and his key advisors” was the top speaker at Thursday’s opening night at the Canadian Liberal convention.
“The Liberal camp appears to have bought into Mr. Summers views on “secular stagnation”—the idea that Japanese style economic torpor is the new normal in North America.” (National Post, Feb. 21, 2014)
Trudeau was already a Summers puppet before delivering his well-touted, email to -”Friend “important message for all Canadians” at the convention parroting the fallacy that the $250-billion Canadian budget would “take care of itself”.
Floundering America bought hook, line and sinker into Summers’ economic policies pushed by Obama. A former chief economist to the ever-encroaching World Bank, Summers is an ex-Secretary of the Treasury and has been an economic advisor to two Democratic presidents, Clinton and Obama.
The Summers’ grass did not just grow on the get-me-elected-at-any-price Justin Trudeau. It grew on failed Summers-groomed Liberal Prime Minister candidate Michael Ignatieff back in 2012.
Ignatieff got to know Summers—who was president of Harvard during his stint at the university’s Carr Center.
Liberals in both Canada and the U.S. both train together and hang together.
Ignatieff has even stronger ties to Samantha Power, a senior adviser to Obama during his presidential campaign, a member of his transition team and now US Ambassador to the UN. Power is wife of Cass Sunstein, who currently serves as Obama’s regulatory czar, and because of his ‘nudge’ for Common Core in the public school system, is considered by many as “the most dangerous man in America”.
Summers and his Canadian protégé Justin Trudeau are trying to convince voters that “deficit” and “debt” are no longer dirty words. They can be fully expected to expand it to Obama’s contention that “job” is the dirtiest word in North American lexicon.

The LPC has just signed up Obama ‘s “digital guru”, the guy who can get the internet generation off their asses and out to the polls.
It’s time to quit taking these guys lightly. Justin may be nothing more than a pretty face, but the people who want him in the PM’s Office are the backbone of the Canadian establishment. Like that States today. Some differences, it is true(the scapegoats are the evil rich rather than Jews, the military is not really much in on the government/finance/favored industry gravy train, and the foreign crises are of a different variety) but the similarities are astounding. And the media is the biggest cheerleader. The accompanying picture has Adolf “basking in the adoration of a crowd”. Whodathink that Time magazine would accidentally call the obvious comparison to mind??

Its really divide and concur, neither party has any interest in ending the fed, bringing back the gold standard, or fixing any of the ilk that destroyed the middle class. The parallels with the modern USA are astounding. I do not buy Time, and there are a few variations on some of Hitler’s techniques (the scapegoats are the evil rich rather than a particular ethnic group, although some ethnic elements are there; the military is not in the beneficial alliance with the Administration the way the finance sector and certain favored industries are; the foreign incidents are not full blown wars). However, the similarities are chilling. And many people are marching to this tune quite willingly, generally because the media has told them to. Who would have thought that Time magazine could accidentally have called to mind the obvious comparisons?

Yes, it’s time for the Conservatives to go into “desperation mode”, but at the MP level,they don’t seem to realise the forces arrayed against them. The “youth and inexperience” card has been overplayed,and doesn’t resonate with voters any more.
We had better have a list of accomplishments to present to the voters when we door knock or it will all be a waste of time.It would help greatly if the CPC government would address some of the conservative issues they were elected on,and I don’t mean abortion and gay marriage.
“The economy” isn’t what they calla “sexy” issue,so there has to be more than that. The government should get rid of the Marketing Boards,expunge Bill C-68,enshrine property rights in law if not the Constitution,and a few other conservative issues that will appeal to the Conservative base. It might not hurt to retire Fantino,either.
If they continue to waste their time trying to appeal to the Left, they are going down to defeat.
The LPC is back with a new shiny face,and there’s nothing a disgruntled public like more than to take their frustrations out on the guys in power by turfing them.
We face not only the LPC and handsome young Justin, but also a Media Party that is determined to get their guys back into power.
History abounds with examples of defeated people who underestimated the enemy,and I can see it happening again. The LPC is assembling a powerful machine, and if it worked for Obama, we have to realise it can work for Trudeau as well.
We CPC members will fight the battle, but the Government and the Party has to issue us some powerful ammunition.
Uh….no blacks but women. 50% of our population are sympathetic to Justin.
Last summer at my best friend’s summer BBQ with all his neighbors proved this sympathy of women.
Couples from up and down the street attended. Most of the men left early as they were tradesmen with jobs to do early, shift workers and even an musician who had a gig. My friend and I were the only men left late night in a sea of women.
Of course the chat turned to a very female vein and I tired of it as it persisted too long. So I decided to inject a social experiment into the chat and stir the pot.
I interrupted the ongoing multiple convo’s and said out loud “hey everyone, who here is going to vote for Justin Trudeau”.
I got their attention, and with the exception of my wife and my Conservative buddy it was a universal swooning of “Justin’s so cute” or “Dreamy” and “I’ll vote for him, he’s seems like such a likeable nice young guy”. My buddy hearing this took them all on with a raging river of facts, gaffs, dumb statements all on the record from Justin and was met with anger, derision, confusion, hurt and emotion.
I later apologized to my buddy that it was a calculated experiment to test the Cult of Personality in politics today in Canada afflicting women. My suspicion was correct – most women fall for his act/appearance and the propaganda.
My buddy did an outstanding job of explaining the facts at a rapid and very articulate rate and demoralized them. He has always been a “ladies man” and to them easy on the eyes – so they capitulated, all of them.
My friend said it would be his mission in the next couple of years to start such experiments himself and do it all over again and again.
So don’t underestimate the shallowness of certain “groups”. Educate your women men.
