We Don’t Need No Stinking French Fry Grease

Via Karenstan;

Government data has shown that over 50,000 orangutans have already died as a result of deforestation due to palm oil in the last two decades. Experts say that if this pattern of destruction and exploitation continues, these intelligent acrobats of the jungle will be extinct in the wild within 3 to 12 years (as early as 2015). It is also thought that their jungle habitat will be completely gone within 20 years (approximately 2033).

  1. Sure glad none of that kind of habitat destruction is happening in Ontario for corn-sourced ethanol….

  2. “will be extinct in the wild within 3 to 12 years (as early as 2015).”
Thanks to Suzuki, Gore and other climate charlatans, I no longer believe ANY claims by the eco-alarmists. They’ve turned Science into Science Fiction.

  3. Thanks World Wildlife Fund, you’re doing a great job. At least the World Wrestling Federation was entertaining, maybe you should give them back their acronym.

  4. You will notice in the comments of the attached link to this post, that the greenies are appalled this is happening, but yet do not acknowledge that it is their own biofuel policies they supported that is the cause. Without the subsidized biofuel mandates that Western governments have imposed on us, the market would collapse and the orangutan habitat destruction would stop.

  5. It is totally worth it so long as one oilfield worker loses his or her job due to a decrease in O&G demand caused by biofuel. Besides, orangutan farts increase CO2. OGW.

  6. What? Another unexpected consequence of hare-brained green policies? What a shocker. Hey, doesn’t Neil Young use biodiesel in his tour bus? What’s that lyric, “old man, take a look at your life, you’re a lot like Al Gore”. I’ll miss the orangs. Very sad.

  7. And it’s also odd that commenters like dick Henrik who want humans to stop “breeding” and all dead don’t ever lead by example.

  8. So Neil Young is personally killing the rangatangs by using bio-diesel.. I never perceived him as so heartless. You just never know.

  9. Well at least it’s not white people destroying the ecosystem and killing off all the orangatangs.
I’d have been seriously upset if it was.

  10. Out: How did our oil get under their sand?
In: How did our biodiesel get under their habitat?

  11. Remember when the Brazilian Rain forest wast being decimated at the rate of “the area of France” every year? That was in the 70’s and, gosh, there are still a few trees left there. Oh, and the 50 species a year that were going extinct, even though no greenies could name even one? If ever there is an impending disaster, how will we know, given the credibility the envirohysteria movement?

  12. The figures quoted in that article seem to me to be as suspicious as some of the crap posted by the warm-mongers. I don’t doubt that the palm-oil plantations are impacting the natural habitat of orangutans, but I question whether it’s happening as fast as stated.
And yeah, some of the comments below are clueless, too.

  13. I was quite pissed off when the World Wildlife Fund bullied Vince McMahon out of the “WWF” name brand.
Vince’s dad started the WWF in 1952,and they essentially had their name stolen by the wildlife fund in 2002. At the time,McMahon said it wasn’t worth getting into a long Court battle with the bottomless pocketed WWF,so he just changed the name to WWE, and saved himself a lot of money.
There have been SO many vicious, bullying, lying tactics by so many of these activist groups, I usually tune them out.I believe many people do these days, which is unfortunate because on occasion they do have a worthy cause.
I’m considering buying a diesel 4 X 4 this Summer, now I have to decide between a corn-powered or palm oil powered vehicle.
Hm, guess I’ll have to decide who I like less, Mexicans or orangutans. Maybe PETA can give me some guidance.

Why would you limit your choices to those? I use neither in my diesel 4×4. Perhaps a bit more education on the subject is in order. Start with learning about canola. Google is your friend.
