  1. Pretty sure I discovered this website from a SDA link but I don’t remember seeing this amazing example of human behavior on the making of the Planet of the Apes.
“an instinctive segregation on the set. Not only would the apes eat together, but the chimpanzees ate with the chimpanzees, the gorillas ate with the gorillas, the orangutans ate with the orangutans, and the humans would eat off by themselves. It was quite spooky.”

Maybe everyone knew this trivia. I didn’t.

  2. In reading the Old Testament, one is left with the impression that God, as described therein, is an evil being and/or a piss poor judge of character.

  3. Six-page New York Times series on Benghazi-gate, claims al-Qaeda not involved but the infamous anti-Muslim film was to blame:
    http://www.nytimes.com/projects/2013/benghazi/
The NYT fingers Ahmed Abu Khattala and his rogue militia for the attack.
NYT: “In several hours of interviews, including ones conducted in the days before he became a prime suspect in the assault, Mr. Abu Khattala said he had no connections to Al Qaeda. But he never hid his admiration for its vision.” (page 2)
That’s a distinction with barely a difference. And you’re taking his word for it?
Abu Khattala is also described as “a loner and a contrarian, even among fellow Islamists”, but “very disciplined” by one Islamist fighter. (2)
NYT: “Unlike other Libyans, Mr. Abu Khattala expressed no gratitude for the American role in the NATO air campaign that toppled Colonel Qaddafi … but another jihadi commander said about him, ‘If all the Libyan people said, “We don’t want the Americans,” Abu Khattala will say, “Bring back the Americans!”‘ ” (2)
In other words a loose cannon. Such persons are not generally known for being “very disciplined”.
NYT: “… on Sept. 8, a popular Islamist preacher lit the fuse by screening a clip of the video on the ultraconservative Egyptian satellite channel El Nas” (4)
Wissam bin Hamid is described as “a militia commander who warned the Americans of Benghazi’s growing dangers two days before the attack”. (4)
That’s an awfully quick timeline for the “growing dangers”.
NYT: “[I]n his personal diary on Sept. 6 in Tripoli, in one of the few pages recovered from the Benghazi compound, [Ambassador Stevens notes a ‘security vacuum’]” (5)
NYT: “‘Militias are power on the ground,’ he wrote. ‘Dicey conditions, including car bombs, attacks on consulate,’ he continued. ‘Islamist “hit list” in Benghazi. Me targeted on a prominent website (no more off compound jogging).’ A map of his Tripoli jogging route had appeared on the Internet, seemingly inviting attacks, diplomats said.” (5)
All this before the Sept.8 screening of the film, yet it had absolutely no influence on the embassy attack, it was the film that was responsible.
NYT: “After the attack, Mr. Obama vowed retribution. ‘We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act,’ he said in a televised address from Washington on the morning of Sept. 12. ‘And make no mistake, justice will be done.'” (6)
    So how’s that coming along?
I wonder if the Times put in as much investigative effort as did CBS’s 60 Minutes, which broadcast a false account of the attack for which it later had to apologize, and couldn’t come up with a reason for the lack of support for the diplomats and staff at the Benghazi compound, even though the probable reason had been suspected for months: President Obama had a golf game the next day and went to bed early, and couldn’t be bothered to do what needed to be done to send in the military.
If this Times story turns out to be wrong, maybe it will put the last nail in the rag’s coffin once and for all?
Give it a read; maybe there’s a glaring contradiction that needs exposure.

  4. Stuff like this drives me nuts.
If someone thinks that they can market and sell a doll for fatties than why bug Mattel to put the capital investment and risk to damaging the Barbie brand to do it?
Its not Mattel’s job to soothe every hurt feeling.

  5. Trash the H2Omelons! Those sob warmers have blasted us/robbed us for over 2 decades with AGW/climate change agitprop/taxation.

“At his Saturday Summary (12/28 here) veteran meteorologist Joe Bastardi comments on how humiliated global warming alarmist scientists are trying to save face by claiming that all the new polar sea ice proves global warming.
Antarctic sea ice has been approaching record highs and embarrassed alarmist scientists are scrambling to explain why.
After presenting his weather information, at the 7:10 mark Joe gets to the nitty-gritty on climate.”

“Germany’s economics minister Gabriel seeks reform for renewable energy transition”
“The new German Minister of Economics and Energy, Sigmar Gabriel, says that Germany’s changeover to renewable energy sources needs revamping. He especially wants to rein in electricity costs.”
“You can’t abandon nuclear power and coal at the same time. The Greens would probably like to dispense with gas as well,” he said.
Gabriel voiced his intention to act quickly to curb rising electricity prices, saying he would soon “present the cornerstones for a reform of the Renewable Energy Act.”

  6. I looked up Dekkers lyrics. Considering I had been singing CCR’s “There’s a bathroom on the right” in my car for 40 years, I thank you for letting me know I am truly an idiot.
“Get up in the morning, slaving for bread, sir
So that every mouth can be fed
    Poor me Israelites Aah”

  7. I wouldn’t have believed it unless I actually saw the picture. It”s probably a nature produced thing to get you to pet it so that it can stun you and cart you off to feed it’s young.

  8. A May 14, 1971, article in the Los Angeles Times described the testimony of one of the women:
“Deborah Jones, who once was given the Swahili title of an African queen, said she and Gail Davis were whipped with an electrical cord and beaten with a karate baton after being ordered to remove their clothes. She testified that a hot soldering iron was placed in Miss Davis’ mouth and placed against Miss Davis’ face and that one of her own big toes was tightened in a vise. Karenga, head of US, also put detergent and running hoses in their mouths, she said. They also were hit on the heads with toasters.”

    – THE MOST UNDER REPORTED NEWS STORY OF 2013 –

  10. Coincidentally, this week I tuned in to two specials on BBC 6, one hosted by John Lydon (aka Rotten) and the other by the surviving members of The Clash.
The playlists on both shows included Israelites.
Independently of each other, both Lydon and the others fondly recalled hearing Israelites on the tinny sound systems of their neighborhood “youth clubs” and Locarno dance halls as kids, and how enchanted they were (and are) by the song.
Then Mick Jones opined that that’s why the net on the ping pong table in the youth club always made him think of the Red Sea, and that’s why you should never ever smoke weed.
