Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I inherited a Woods winter bag that was made in the 1950s.
It weighed over 40 pounds and had a down inner bag that slipped between the layers of the waxed canvas outer bag. The inside surface of the canvas was covered with wool blanket (very scratchy).
The whole thing was 7ft long when put together and the downside was the weight. Used properly it would protect you at any temperature.
Woods rated the bag at -60 f
Best cold-weather sleeping bag I’ve ever seen is the Canadian military’s arctic bag.
This may be useful advice for the guy living in a teepee on the outskirts of Calgary in -20C temperatures.
Calgary blizzard and brazen mice put teepee life to the test
I agree.
They work until you have to crawl out in the middle of the night to do sentry duty and then try and get back into them an hour later in a 10 man arctic tent in the dark.
tee-hee tee-pee dweller. youth is wasted on the ..oh nevermind.
Enjoyed winter camping while a scout, years ago, yes.
Taught me a very important lesson: the only thing holding most of us back is listening to other people whining….
Rant off.
After reading that article again I get the whole thing about male versus female ratings.
Wondering if the research included the apparent need to get up and pee 3 or four times a night, or menstrual cycles or menopause.
