(Trivia note: Lani Hall, the brunette singer whose repeatedly overdubbed vocals gave the group it’s distinct sound, was from Chicago; since she didn’t speak Portuguese, she learned the songs phonetically.)

  9. Good for him…and for her. Herb Alpert is one of those people nobody has anything bad to say about. Apparently he’s just a super-duper-nice fellow.

    I think he’s right, and that it would explain a lot of things: Tolerance (blitheness, a complete lack of antipathy towards people’s sexual orientation or skin colour) must be provoked — we see this constantly, on a daily basis — in an attempt to prove/resurrect their putative “intolerance”.

    Their goal is not a tolerant society. It’s not a multiracial society or a post-racial society. It is a society perpetually at war over identity politics. That conflict is what gives them power.

    I am one of millions of Canadians who is fed up of seeing negative publicity against Canada, mostly on CBC and CTV. How hard would it be get an organized boycott going? Rules are simple. You bash my country, I don’t buy what’s advertised on your network. I believe we could make history!

    COnsidering Baldwin’s follies, and how quickly he got turfed, how did it ever take this long……..quiet approval from the masters behind the scenes at MessDNC?
    Good luck to him, I hear North Korea has openings for new propaganda mouthpieces, Bashir should fit right in!

    Why do you still watch broadcast TV? Addicted to the ads?

  17. I AM, Joe Molnar, I am in my 82nd year of life on this plane, I live in Woodstock, Ontario Canada with my wife Anna, our 60th wedding anniversary celebrated on May of this year, 2013.
    I am a Prostate cancer survivor, since 1997 and I consider “Small Dead Animals” blog a”Miracle” in our time on this plane of consciousness, but this is not about me, or SDA, but an IDEA that I have and wish to share with my fellow Canadian Citizens.
    Canadians do not enjoy the protection of individual “PROPERTY RIGHTS” IN THE “CHARTER OF RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS in our Canadian Constitution.
    I, Joe Molnar, intend on changing that with the help of millions of other “like minded” Canadians by petitioning the current Governemnt of Canada with the following petition…………….

    My intention is to take the Petition shown above across this land , while on foot, bicycle, or even DONKEY if need be to collect signatures to be presented to the HOUSE OF COMMONS to amend our Canadian Constitution and enshrine those “Property Rights’ before the MULCAIR led NDP communists gain power in Canadian Government.
    Can I be successful?
    YES I CAN, but I need a LIKE MINDED SPONSOR (NON-GOVRNMENTAL ) to provide a very modest mobile home, ( on a loaned basis) which my wife can drive as we seek signatures on the doorstep (sidewalk) of as many TIM HORTONS franchisees as is possible in a cross Canada trek.
    Will a sponsor step up?
    I do not know IF ANY SPONSOR WILL STEP UP, , but as I indicated earlier, I consider “SMALL DEAD ANIMALS” BLOG A “MIRACLE” SO WHY NOT SEEK MY OWN MIRACLE sponsor on a “miracle” site, eh?
    No folks I AM not nuts, but I do hope to have ‘PROPERTY RIGHTS” ENSHRINED, is that such NUTTY IDEA?

    now before you pass this off as useless, it’s a good primer on mathematical modeling and explains many of the concepts involved. Which in turn, gives us the layman, the tools to ask the right questions about ANY mathematical model.

    North, portrayed by Smartass as a Christian Taliban (thankfully without the K), is a devout Christian who self published a 20+ volume treatise on money and the Bible, but is also a scholar of the first rank; a Austrian economist; very long experienced, highly erudite and learned, unlike Smartass.
    In this piece he explains what is MONEY and what is Bitcoin, believed by people like Smartass to be a currency of the future. Not!
    For my refusal to jettison my self taught amateur knowledge of Austrian economics and matters monetary I was labelled a Luddite. We need a word for excessive faith in technology with which to tag our favourite Smartass. LASSitute?
