I think it’s important to strive to be intellectually consistent. For instance, when there is a mass shooting the progressives immediately attack the “gun culture” of conservatives. Conservatives correctly argue that it’s about individuals who are criminal or insane.
There is enough real evidence to debate (and defeat) anti-fracking propaganda so why discredit good arguments this way. Remember the “no pressure” ads by 10:10 eco-activists. To them blowing people up seemed funny and convincing but to regular people outside the bubble it was offensive. Anti-frackers are wrong but they’re not advocating for child molesting. Does the most repulsive SDA regular commenter represent the rest of you?

I think anyone who wants to maintain their credibility would not want a person like that representing their organization. Why do rational people lump together issues shouldn’t rationally be lumped together? Each issue should be discussed on its own merit. There is absolutely no reason for conservatives to assume because a person is in favor of gun rights, he or she should be in favor of mountain-top removal or against abortion.
A well versed citizen needs to think about each issue as it stands alone. There may be overlap, of course, but it disturbs me when conservatives are expected to “toe the line” in all issues.
