  1. I agree with Lewis MacKenzie. Why on earth would the Syrian gov’t — on the verge of defeating the “rebels” — suddenly decide to launch an attack that gives an excuse for intervention? It makes zero sense. False flag makes much more sense.

  2. Well I think it’s common knowledge now that Obama the great is arming terrorists to fight in Syria, so expect an intervention soon.

  3. Obama will choose to do the wrong thing. The right thing is not to interfere when America’s enemies are killing each other.
Further … Is it it not likely that the so-called rebels are responsible for killing these innocents to get Barry to help out his fellow Islamists? Inquiring minds need to know.

  4. During the ‘debt ceiling’ debate, POTUS said “don’t make me call my bluff”.
Today(so far), Obama has in fact “called his own bluff”, as America’s “red line” is little more than a big bet behind a pair of pocket 2s.

  5. The gas incident was a staged False flag attack – Bravo Sierra – stay out , let the foamers wipe each other out – but he’ll commit to divert attention from his scandals at home. Going in is the stupid thing to do, Bam Bam will go in and get Russians up his butt for his trouble.

  6. Remember when Clinton was taking impeachment heat and he decided to lob a few tomahawks into an aspirin factory in Libya just for a distraction?
This sabre rattling from Oblameya smells the same.
Only Oblameya and Shrillary screwed it all up with Benghazi and those arm shipments.
The “bad” guys optics have become very blurry, as has the US response to the Egypt/Syria “situation”.
I think that the chem attack is a false flag ops too.
But remember the mantra of never let a good crisis go to waste.

  7. Non of the stuff I have seen looks even close to the NBCW training films I was shown way back.
Military grade stuff doesn’t make your eyes water and gives you a cough. It is fast, deadly and final.
This looks much much like home made stuff, probably some vaporized agricultural pesticides.

  8. After what Kerry said today, there is no room. Either Obama acts or Kerry resigns. The purple language and left no moral wiggle room. The US bombs or Kerry just got thrown under the bus.
And none of the above analysis even looks at whether the attack was by Assad or not. This could be like Biden stating Obama’s gay rights evolution before he was ready. There is no option here, the U.S. does something by air or by sea.
Given Obama’s deft foreign policy hand, he will do something for show, but not finish the job and just succeed in stirring up a nest of hornets.
I agree the use of Chemical Weapons demands a swift and immeadiate repsonse. Problem is nobody trusts these guys anymore, and swift isnt in Obama’s vocabulary, takes time to know what Jarrets’s decision is.

  9. TrueNorthist and Occam are 100% correct. This was a total false flag attack perpetrated by the US backed ‘rebels’ to distract from the plethora of scandals surrounding the WH. There is even a new scandal brewing that the US was secretly sending the Muslim Brotherhood in egypt through the embassy using Obama’s brother, Malik Obama, as the money man:
    http://www.wnd.com/2013/08/now-egypt-looks-to-expose-obama/
Add to this the fact that Russia backing the Syrian government. Some are saying that this could be a WWIII scenario.

  10. Whoever told you that the rebels are on the verge of defeat is FOS. The rebels control large swathes of the country. Only the Syrian government has the capability to pull of this attack. Anyone who’s seriously talking about a ‘false flag’ should go share a room with the 9/11 truthers and birthers and people who think Obama is a secret Muslim.
We aren’t going to stop involvement in this stupid war with nutjobs yammering all over our case.

  11. Edward Luttwak writing in the NYT makes a compelling case for stalemate.
Might have been false flag or rogue units of Syrian military. Does it matter?
The real question is whether the US has a good reason to intervene gas or no gas? Is there a compelling strategic goal which could realistically be achieved by firing off a bunch of cruise missiles? Syria is a mess. It is probably going to get a lot worse. The real possibility of massacres on sectarian lines exists.
    This is a tar baby.

  12. LAS “go share a room with the 9/11 truthers and birthers and people who think Obama is a secret Muslim.”
Obama had 2 more Muslim fathers than I did and attended at least one more Muslim school than I did. Perhaps if Obama hadn’t told everyone his birthplace was Kenya, no-one would believe it.

  13. So, the US/NATO are going to war on behalf of muslims again, as they did in Bosnia and Kosovo. The Islamo-fascists must consider the West a bunch of suckers, and will easily be defeated.

  14. LAS may be an SDA celebrity, but as far as 911 thruthiness goes, Lewis Mackenzie is to Rosie O’Donnel as a structural engineer is to an Occupy thug.
If the question is that if General Mackenzie (Ret.) says it’s questionable vs. LAS who says it isn’t then guess where I’m putting my money every single time?
IOW’s LAS, you’re full of crap.
Call me when _you’ve_ commanded troops _within_ an active civil war before you decide to call out someones opinion on just that who has done just that.

  15. I just wonder how many generations, will suffer cancer and birth defects, after the US attacks with its stock piles of depleted uranium. Will the US make assurances that they will not use these things and create an environmental holocaust, for years to come.
Can they assure us that the rebels are not in anyway associated with religious fanatics and are inclusive with all of the religions in the area, are they peace loving and democratic.
    If not stay away.

  16. Yeah well, you bleeped outa turn there pilgrim.
Depleted uranium is just that…depleted…no more radioactive than a wrist watch with a luminous dial.
The most logical course to ensure that neither side wins is to nuke the lot of them and then blame it on Iran.
The same elements would believe/disbelieve the US/Iranian denials……….respectively…
Instead of sparking WW3…..calm and peace would prevail….object lessons do that…….

  17. Let’s never forget that USA used chemical weapons on a very large scale during the vietnam war just 40 years ago: agent orange.

  18. well now L-ass almost have a point, the Syrian gov’t ,bombed the shit out of the area and destroyed any evidence, plus they refused access for 4 days, why???If they had let the UN in rite away it would have been easy to identify the chemical used and it’s probable source, or non-source.
Lance…yah Mackenzie is reeeeeal reliable, so is my dead dog!!!

  19. Oh wow Lance you sure did pwn me with your appear to authority non-argument.
Meanwhile, at the adult’s table: re depleted uranium: doesn’t uranium break down into even more radioactive elements?

  20. “Depleted uranium is just that…depleted…no more radioactive than a wrist watch with a luminous dial.”
    too funny
Did you know that in WW2 the women who painted on the luminous dial, died of cancer.
Depleted uranium is 40% less radioactive than natural uranium.
The most hazardous route of exposure is inhalation, followed by ingestion and external exposure.Chemical toxicity of depleted uranium presents a greater risk than the radiological toxicity.

  21. “no more radioactive then a wrist watch with a luminous dial”
    Depends on the watch.
I used to repair level switches that were activated by gamma rays. We had an official radioactive source that came in a lead cylinder with a lead lid. The source itself was a spec of Cesium embedded in a clear yellow plastic disk a bit bigger than an Alka Seltzer tablet. You could test the switch by taking the source out of the cylinder and touching the Geiger Mueller tube. You had to hold the source just so or it wouldn’t activate the switch. You almost had to beat the tube with the source at times.
Or…. you could go down the hall and borrow the Technical Assistant’s boyhood watch from his desk drawer and wave it about six inches away from the G-M tube and the switch would work every time. That’s about 150 to 250 more radioactive than the source that took all sorts of paperwork to buy.

  22. G,
The aspirin was in Sudan, but I’m not being picky; I agree its waging the same old dog. Its just another one of the messiah’s lose-lose fiascos and an attempt to give the MSM something to run with 24/7 to take everyone’s eye off of the ‘phony’ scandals.

  23. LAS
The Uranium does break down into daughter elements. However, depending on whether its natural decay, or fission, will determine the toxicity of the daughters elements. Also, the isotope has most of how the element breaksdown.
U235 is the most common, and not fissionable. U238 is used for fission.
Needless to say, the fission breakdown yields terribly radioactive, long-half-life elements. The natural breakdown, much less so. Reason is, the extra neutrons in fission yield “unnatural” elements that turn out to be more toxic, with longer half-lives, and in much greater quantities.
    Google it.

  24. It has probably been said before but how ironic if it could be proven said chemical weapons came from Iraq. I know the improbabilites of such; probably an expiration date on some of this and the like. Just saying.

  25. Angel w a s,,, I screwed up and thanks for the correction.
It’s hard to keep up with these clowns sometimes.
    From a commenter at HotAir;
So, when will Operation Desert Clown kick off?

  26. LASsie said: “Meanwhile, at the adult’s table: re depleted uranium: doesn’t uranium break down into even more radioactive elements?”
Dude, have you been skipping physics class? U238 has a half life of over FOUR BILLION YEARS. It just sits there, inert, doing nothing.
That’s why they use it for ammunition. Because its -inert-. Genius.
Oh, and its about as poisonous as plain old lead, Peter. Not well absorbed, y’unnerstand. Uranium oxides not being water soluble, and all.
Didn’t you people go to school?

  27. False Flag!
The CBC now ask’s if it’s time that the US gets involved. Yea right as if Obamba hasn’t been involved from the beginning, that’s why it’s a mess across NA/ ME today.
Now the Syrian “rebels” are putting Gaddafi’s looted armouries to “good use” just as SDA troll LAS hoped they would as he posted 2012. Your getting your wish L-ass.

  28. If it’s radioactive, it’s not inert. DU is weakly radioactive and is still a poisonous heavy metal. Don’t overstate your case.
Now the Syrian “rebels” are putting Gaddafi’s looted armouries to “good use” just as SDA troll LAS hoped they would as he posted 2012. Your getting your wish L-ass.
I’ve been getting that wish granted since day one of the Syrian uprising.

  29. Obama will always support the rebels, the underdogs. Part of the social justice agenda.
He’s the Hopey Changey guy after all and he’s going after oppressors everywhere, especially beating whitey at his own game.

  30. Many of you have likely watched the video (can be found on Blazing Cat’s blog) of the Syrian ‘rebels’ stopping a series of transport trucks and questioning the drivers as to their religious affiliation. The ‘rebels’ are Sunni’s while the poor truck drivers (like many Syrians) were (notice the past tense) Alawites or Shia Muslims.
The Syrian ‘Freedom Fighters’ take the drivers into the median of the highway and summarily execute them without any vestige of emotion. These cold blooded killers wouldn’t hesitate to use gas or anything else on innocent civilians. The death of others seems to satisfy them as they shout ‘Allahu Akbar’ as they unloaded their weapons into the backs and heads of the truck drivers.
And these people – affiliated with Al Qaeda, Wahabis and Salafists are the people that Obama wants to defend and support. The very same people who would kill any of us without a moments hesitation and apparently, immense religious fervor and satisfaction.
John Baird is crazy to think Canada should sign on to an alliance with Obama in the M.E.

  31. The response from PMSH should be an announcement on changes to our immigration policy as we clearly do not share common values and deport any trouble makers already in Canada.

  32. Didn’t the Israeli government report that it had high-level intercepts showing the chemical weapon attack orders coming from the Syrian government?
Hardly matters in this case. This is one of those “pray for an asteroid” things. Assad is vile scum. So are the rebels, who are mostly Islamist thugs itching to become martyrs to Allah. If two groups of your enemies are hell-bent on killing each other, the last thing you want to do is get in the way.
