The Hamilton Police seem to have been following the example of their OPP cousins, making their policing decisions based on a person’s political stripes. Then a local fellow named Gary McHale reminded them of their professional responsibilities.

If there is one thing McHale has done for this nation it is that he has made public the process, validity and utility of the private prosecution – a handy citizen’s tool in these days of two tiered policing and rogue police actions.
As for the question of the day about oil flow – western oil flowing east has been an environmental problem ever since KC Irving started funding union/anarchist agitators.
The great Obama, in his infinite wisdom, is telling his peanut gallery Middle East oil is better and much cleaner than that coming from what he repeatedly refers to a the “Tar” Sands of Western Canada.
Obama appears to be channeling Fat Al,hoping to cash in on a Nobel prize. One thing we can be sure of, being full of bombast and hot air he has much in common with Fat Al so he’s off to a good start for big bucks in speaking tours when his term of Office is over.
Interestingly, I have grown up with pipelines and lived around them all my life. Many people do. The problem isn’t the pipeline. It merely gives the protesting professionals something to latch onto.
As to why West vs. East is a battle, who knows? They are protesting professionals not people with any reasonable IQs. Tell them to nail two boards together- no problem. Give them dimensions and a drawing and now you have a problem. ” Low information” voters are not without a reason for being “low” – at any rate, the case is there if we confuse them with direction. They likely have no clue which direction is which.
Basic obstruction. If it makes economic sense to reverse then they oppose because their goal is for less oil consumption and so more inconvenience, poorer economics is a means to their ends.
People always like to “freak out” about Canada becoming a “police state”,and that is usually in reference to anything Stephen Harper does, like toughen up the Young Offender’s Act.
But the fact IS, we ARE living in a police state when the police refuse to enforce the law without prejudice. This has been going on in Canada since the early 90’s,as far as I can remember.
It’s time we started putting pressure on our politicians to force the police to either do their job,or resign.
The politicians and the police have to grow some gonads and quit pandering to every radical Left-wing activist in the Country.Funny how the cops always protect and serve the leftie radicals but when an honest taxpaying,working citizen protests, he’s immediately arrested.
The Hamilton police department is as bad as the OPP,refusing to enforce the law for a week. I suppose they are taking orders from the Ontario Att’y-General, but it would be nice if for once they actually did their job as they’re supposed to.

Today’s major societal challenge is that there are too many police sitting in offices and too little crime.
Don’t know why, but when I hear stories like this about Police Chiefs and OPP Commissioners ducking their duties, I can’t help but think about a few of the conduct offences listed in Section 30 of Ont. Reg. 268/10 made under the Police Services.
DISCREDITABLE CONDUCT:
fails to treat or protect persons equally without discrimination with respect to police services because of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed,….
acts in a manner prejudicial to discipline or likely to bring discredit upon the reputation of the police force of which the officer is a member;

without lawful excuse, disobeys, omits or neglects to carry out any lawful order;
NEGLECT OF DUTY:
without lawful excuse, neglects or omits promptly and diligently to perform a duty

Without lawful excuse, always obeys, never omits, or never neglects to carry out any unlawful order in hopes of being promoted and becoming the favoured, well paid, lapdog of his totally corrupt political masters.
If we started reducing salaries or according salaries to seen results, would the police and police chiefs start doing their jobs then?
