Christendom’s Greatest Cathedral to Become a Mosque;
The desire to turn Hagia Sophia into a mosque is not about Muslims wanting a place to pray — as of 2010, there were 3,000 active mosques in Istanbul alone. Rather, it’s about their reveling, and trying to revivify, the glory days of Islamic jihad and conquest: Reuters added that Muslims “staged the prayers ahead of celebrations next week marking the 559th anniversary of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet’s conquest of Byzantine Constantinople.” According to Salih Turhan, a spokesman quoted by Reuters, “As the grandchildren of Mehmet the Conqueror, seeking the re-opening Hagia Sophia as a mosque is our legitimate right.”

More than ever it looks as though the so-called “Arab Spring” was in fact the first stirrings of the Global Caliphate. This latest bit of news out of Turkey — a non-Arab, supposedly secular nation — confirms it.

In Granada one can visit the tombs of Ferdinand and Isabella, and see Ferdinand’s sword, very worn with scabbard held together by the mediaeval equivalent of duct tape; and Isabella’s crown, paper-thin as almost everything they had went to support their troops.
And then, suitably inspired, it will be time to begin the final Reconquest; the Middle East was once Jewish and Christian, and should be again. The first stop will be Gibraltar, to destroy the mosque which the degenerate modern English have allowed to be constructed at its southern tip.
David Warren, the great Canadian conservative essayist, said that he converted from Anglicanism to Roman Catholicism because the RC church has been most effective in combatting the scourge of Islam.

As for Turkey, Erdogan’s re-Ottomanization policy continues. His ambition is for Turkey to once again head the Calliphate of the Muslim world. Also, it being a member of NATO, more than the nose of the camel is already in the tent.

The last time it was a cathedral was, um, 1453? When the city was last known as Constantinople. The bloody end of the Byzantine Empire.

Surely you know that all Christian converts to Islam are reverts, being that they were all Muslims initially despite Mo’s appearance 600 years after Jesus.
As you can see Islam has a highly sophisticated, nuanced understanding of chronological time, one of their many indispensable contributions to science.
I remain unimpressed. The root of the problem is not the toothless hillbillies who compose the majority of the Middle East. They don’t have the physical, moral or technological resources to threaten the West in any way.

So what? Nobody objected to it being a museum. Do you recall any protests over that? No? So that isn’t the issue. By turning a museum/historical site/former church into a mosque, Islamists are making a POLITICAL statement. Get it now?

hmmm, me thinks you marginalize the size of the problem. There are well over a billion Muslims worldwide. Islamic extremism is practiced by governments and militias in the Middle East, Near East South East Asia, Africa and the west. They are composed of many professional’s, including doctors, lawyers, businessmen, and government officials.
Yes the toothless hillbillies are there in the hills of Pakistan or the jungles of Indonesia and the Philippines, but they are also well placed in the cities of Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, London, Paris, and New York to name but a few.
Islam is a global brotherhood, some are inert and others simply do the fundraising. But it is a giant of collective ideals fueled by hatred, well funded by its practitioners especially the Wahabi Kingdom of Saud, and protected by western governments.
Be careful to assume that it’s a just a few “toothless hillbillies” that threaten our standards of living.
There are a hell of a lot more of them motivated and united than our own current society, to be sure.
It is not like there is not a mosque in close proximity. The Blue Mosque is practically next door. You can easily walk from one to the other.

Evangelicals have reported on the numbers of Muslims who are converting to Christianity. Unlike Roman Catholics, they don’t say they are converting to a church but are becoming followers of Jesus Christ. It has to be done in secret because of the danger to them and their families, but we have to realize that it is the Holy Spirit who draws people to Jesus.

I had read something of the great defeat of the Christian empire in the East. I may be a bit wobbly on the actual facts however. I understand that Christianity had two great powers. One, the Roman Catholic Church in Rome and the other in Constantinople (now Istanbul). I believe it took it’s name from the Emperor Constantine.
One legend concerning the defeat of the Christian city under siege, is that some surviving Christians sought refuge in that great cathedral. Another legend is that a high religious figure, went out to meet the attackers. He tried to bless them in the name of God. They killed him.
Winston Churchill was quoted as saying that appeasers “feed the crocodile, hoping it will eat them last”.
Not so for the gallant citizens of Vienna though. The hordes of Islam were at the gates about 1683. We can all be grateful for those defenders who were determined to fight and die if need be.

I agree 100%, and meant to mention that in my first comment, but missed it. You’re absolutely correct that our most imminent societal danger is the so called “Liberal” left who enable any and all western enemies they can muster.
I was making a point though that beyond the Liberal left, there are very dangerous and well networked people living all over the world including our own backyards that have used the idiotic and mentally disturbed left as essentially biological weapons against us to great effect. They are not a minority and they are not all together backwater hicks.
We shouldn’t loose focus on these facts.
If only the left could understand that they will be the first to be disposed of if Islam would come to rule. By and large they stand for everything Muslims despise.
I was in Istanbul in 1996, I toured Hagia Sophia. It was already a mosque. There was one virgin mary mosiac not stuccoed over. It was in a stair well. Left I assume to show it was once a church. Everything else
was already done. Why is this news now?
