55 Replies to “Harper Derangement Syndrome”

  1. Delicious irony in Syd Ryan dissing Harper for looking like a tin pot dictator.

  2. If he had worn a suit the papers would have screamed how out of touch he was with the suffering masses. Can’t win.

  3. Bloody Hell, I saw the photo the other day and didn’t even notice he was wearing a “flight jacket”. (of course that Australian PM communist standing next to him for a photo op was a little distracting)
    These people are friggen racist!
Had that been a photo of Chairman Mao, or Mugabe or Obamba they’d have worshiped the photo in a little bedroom shrine.

  4. I no longer read Canadian online papers, their comment sections are infested with hateful liberals espousing nothing more than bile and venom.

  5. PM Chretien put a military helmet on backwards which as a former military officer (reserve) I took as insulting to the military members. PM Harper wears a flight jacket given to him by serving military members to honour military members who are once again called to aid in a civilian crisis. Can anyone else see a difference?

  6. Harper Derangement Syndrome, eh? Must be time for another Conservative majority, I guess (which, by the way, is the consensus in my neck of the woods): he’s the only game in town.

  7. I hope Harper doesn’t have a Blackhawks’ sweater: Sid will accuse him of trying to steal the Stanley Cup.

  8. “If he had worn a suit the papers would have screamed how out of touch he was with the suffering masses. Can’t win.”
How true it is. PMSH has long been labelled a control freak by the media and other assorted brainless leftists. However, when certain senators abuse their privileges, Harper is criticized for not having control of the situation.
    You’re right. “Can’t win”.

  9. Some great comments in this thread. I routinely slap down my otherwise intelligent father (retired high-school teacher) and step mother (retired school counsellor) for their irrational Harper hatred. It’s to the point now that they don’t dare even try much any more because they take such a battering, but many still think it is an effective strategy. We should encourage them to keep it up. Does wonders in the polls.

  10. My friend in Calgary voted for Nenshi and is now face palming herself. Her taxes went up and services went down. The city no longer plows her street in the winter! And on top of that the city is making cuts to police services despite a $52 million surplus from her high taxes.

  11. Dear Knight;
Good post, you forgot Che. And doesn’t she look and act like Gillard?
I’ve given up on TV but online columns keep me in touch with what the enemy is up to. I want to know when they are coming for me.
They diss our military while BroncO runs the best freedom protection machine in the world into the mire. Look’s like we’re going to have to protect ourselves. Think SHPM is up to the job — I hope so!

  12. Hey TNist;
    I hear you.
By any chance are your parents CBC Retirees? Got a much older sibling who is a re-tired mandarin and he spends his retirement life absorbing the CBC — hook, line and sinker. I wish I could get just one channel by cable then I’d cancel his CBC inclusive package and buy only SUN News only for him on a day when he’s out at the organic community garden.
A little dose of Ezra would jar him out of his programming.

  13. “By any chance are your parents CBC Retirees?”
No, just retired teachers, which I am convinced should be a medical condition. BCTF diehards both, but I am making some progress. The force is strong in those two. 😉

  14. Any bets that Syd tweeted this tripe in his underwear.
    Picture that fashion statement.

  15. Exactly right jpeter.
No choice of clothing would have worked for him. He can’t win.
It is not an exaggeration to say that our polities are being destroyed by anti-social media.
This is clearly evidenced by the disgusting exploitation by the warm-mongers, by the breathtakingly cruel comments, even by some people here, blaming the victims for locating in a “flood plain”.

  16. “So just who does Turdo la Doo think he is?”
Wasn’t he wearing that for one of his obscure attempts at being an actor? If he were to try wearing any of our current military gear around someone like me he would be told to take it off or get thumped in the head.

  17. even by some people here, blaming the victims for locating in a “flood plain”.
Insurance companies do not insure against floods because 95 % of houses will never flood and 5 % are guaranteed to flood. I don’t know that it is being cruel to criticize someone who builds a house that is destined to flood and expects taxpayers to pick up the tab when it does.

  18. Onou Rown >
Yup, Their test-tube babies (soul sisters) hatched and raised in the Liberal Socialist machine!
I stopped watching “TV” several years ago, cancelling all but internet subscriptions. Saved a bundle and doubled the “Hi-speed”.
The west is in a mess, not that it’s unusual to have tyrannical governments and elite powers grapple for control over the “little people”. The difference is that the technical abilities for tyrants has never been so dangerously absolute.
Their current success in luring and lulling the western sheeple into domesticated subservience is beyond belief.

  19. BTW –
Where is the Liberal controversy with these photo’s?
copy & Paste in Google search – “Obamba in flight jacket”
    Open images.

  20. Actually, (as much as I disliked Trudeau), I believe he wore a WWI German helmet with a spike, (unfortunately pointing upwards rather than downwards).

  21. Knight 99, you also forgot Fidel.
Hmmm, that makes me wonder how crazy the Harperphobes would get if he smoked a cigar …

  22. Afterthought, before reading Forest’s comment but echoing it:
Matt Gurney should not have written about this as he is merely giving a relatively small sickly group wider exposure. Let the anti-social media vomit out its poisonous, toxic rhetoric.
Scar, sorta like telling the stricken relatives that the departed should have given up smoking, no?
True, but a stupid, boorish, untimely remark. And besides, they’d know it already wouldn’t they?
Nah, before anti-social media and blogs people weren’t that cruel to their stricken fellow citizens.

  23. Am I the only one who has noticed that the MOST RADICAL of the Far Left mouthpieces in Canada often have a British accent? Sid Ryan is one. Libby Davies is another. There are many others. I’ve often wondered if they were pushed out – voluntary or otherwise – by the presence of Margaret Thatcher and decided to come here to Canada to stir up trouble here.

  24. First of all, these sorts of garments are ALWAYS issued on both sides of the border whenever there is a natural disaster. It’s a reason to enter public life if nothing else.
But seriously, Harper could have swam into the raging flood waters to rescue a basketful of puppies and the likes of Sid Ryan would STILL call him a dictator. Do dictators allow you to get away with slanderous crap like that, Sid? Try being in Egypt or Turkey.
One wonders where Justin Trudeau was in all of this. Being a rafting instructor, his skills might have been put to good use. He could then hand the “math stuff” to the bigger kids in the government.

  25. Osumashi….Turdoh Jr. was probably giving a “free” speech somewhere to a bunch of wet panties. Or trying to find his real dad.

  26. Ya I noticed that long past. My folks came from that slimmey rock….and the balance of my blood relatives that hailed from that place are best described as “working class brits” ( about 3 layers lower than whale $hit IMHO).
I recall some of them calling me a mercenary for joining the US military….then I swated their constant complaint that the US rebuilt Germany and “didn’t do a thing for us”. They really smarted when I pointed out that 52% of the Marshall Plan was spent in the UK…..because the UK was the highest risk of going communist.
I guess ya could say I am not fond of Brits…..their accents make them sound ignorant…not classy.

  27. In the seventies PJO’Rourke’s foreigners issue described the English as:
Cold-blooded queers with nasty complexions and terrible teeth who once conquered half the world but still haven’t figured out central heating. They warm their beers and chill their baths and boil all their food, including bread. An intensely snobbish group, but who exactly they’re snubbing is an international mystery. Lately they’ve been getting their comeuppance world power-wise, as their shabby, antiquated, and bankrupt little back alley of a country slowly winds down like the ill-crafted clockwork playthings of which their undersized children are so fond. In fact, last year their entire government had to kiss the ass of the fat aboriginal nig-nog who runs Uganda to retrieve a single flit hack writer from the clutches of that august nation. They all have large collections of something useless like lamp finials or toad eggs, and they would have lost both world wars if it were not for us. They like to be spanked with canes and that’s just what they deserve.

  28. Back in the early 1960s, when I lived in Australia, an Aussie MP, in parliament, addressed the problem of British trade unionists ‘infiltrating’ Australia, and I experienced it myself while working on a dam in northern Western Australia – the steelworkers were all quite satisfied with their lot – then two Brit union reps showed up and within a couple days they were out on strike.

  29. My concern is Sid Ryan, who swans around in a cashmere coat when on picket lines with baseball-jacket wearing union members.
What a jackass. A slimey Limey if ever there was one.

  30. Sadly, there are only four Brits worth more than a plugged nickel.
William from Normandy (1066), Sir Winston, Dame Maggie, and Lord Monckton of Brenchley. Sadly,3 of them are dead.

  31. Weirdly this story must have hit a nerve – well over 800 comments thus far.

  32. That burnt toast scent is the smell of Trudeau being SCORCHED!
Well, he’s not a real leader so what would he do in Alberta, anyway?
Just for the info, Sid Ryan is Irish, though not very good at it.

  33. Irish still makes him British!
I do think, though, that we get a double whammy with the Irish, who’ve got a huge chip on their shoulder when it comes to England. I think they like to take their angst out on us colonials.

  34. Deb …that is excellent tweet material @SidRyan.
I don’t tweet. Can someone pass that on to Ryan?
Gurney had to write this aricle…Ryan needs to be exposed.

  35. I’m just guessing Harper didn’t charge the military 30 grand to speak whilst being gifted a jacket??

  36. No, being Irish does not make you British or English.
Being born in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, means you are IRISH.

  37. ‘Didn’t know he was born in Dublin! Not British.
But a rotter just the same. Check out his cashmere coat in the photo at Wiki.

  38. I like Harper. I just think he’s given in to the red Tories. He could accomplish much more. I have my reservations on some of his policies & setbacks. Not his International policies though.
His back dooring all these third World Islamic immigrants is a real worry though.
One rule we should all follow though. Never trust the Media. Its like drinking Hemlock.
I have some problems with allowing the RCMP to rule on Guns & such. But he’s no tyrant Like Cretin . Nor a money hungry carpet bagger. As far as the Senate goes. Does it really Matter. I mean we all know tier mostly time wasting plutocrat hoarders.Have been forever. Maybe Harper can change that now that even the MSM to blacken him have opened up this vile can of covertness.
You can never be totally for any Politicians policies. Its the nature of Democracy. My worry is Islamic insurgency, along with the Bureaucratic, Academic, Leftist, Union, welfare Corporations. Elites war against Canadian citizens. Through the Culture, Media, Schools.

  39. “If Harper actually WAS a tin-pot dictator’…….the left would be disappeared!
This is how demented and dysfunctional the left is, full of hysteria, but severely lacking in any kind of factual truth.
Sid Ryan shows himself to truly be a complete POS.

  40. I expected he would be from Belfast so Dublin was a real shock to me.
Not sure why people bring their problems to Canada when they have the opportunity to have a new life.
And how has he brainwashed so many people? Certainly not his charm.
Looking into his eyes reveals a real piece of work.

  41. There is a reason why Cretin was not stopped before going on camera with his helmet on backwards, you reap what you sow. Same reason why Harper now has a RCAF jacket to wear.

  42. I didn’t just read that first sentence… unless the Internet existed in 1916. Which it didn’t. And you can’t even say that in certain circles in Northern Ireland.
That being said, I don’t blame the Irish for being raw but they should get over it.
As for Sid Ryan, he’s just a union d-bag. I wouldn’t lump in other Irish people with him. That would be cruel.
