Keystone XL must not create a net increase in plant food.
Thanks, America.

I do find it absolutely remarkable that supposedly intelligent people are still merrily swallowing the global warming hoax. It is a sorry reflection on mankind and it suggests an almost total inability of many people to think for themselves.
My apologies, Canada. Our usurper in the Presidential office is an idiot. Along with 50-somthing+ percent of my alleged fellow-citizens. America, and the world, will be better once this idiot is dead. Not just out of office. Dead. He and his power-grabbing philosophy and tribal alliances.
It’s never been about the Earth. It’s always been about power. Limit the resources, decree that limited resources must be government controlled – power.
As I have stated here more than once, it is my firm belief that BO has had as a goal during his time as POTUS to prevent any new pipelines delivering new volumes of imported oil as well as to prevent any new oil leases being awarded on federal land and to prevent any new offshore exploratory wells being permitted and completed.
So far he is batting a thousand. This is a vital part of his legacy for him as he wants to trumpet his green record to the pied’etre set and the Hollywood greens as he speaks to them for 35 mins using a TelePrompTer and receiving high 6 or even seven figures for the “work”.
Actually I think in retirement he will be quite the dud compared to Clinton – he won’t get near as many invites nor in the long run paid as much. That’s because Clinton is not vacuous – BO is. And naturally we will all be called racist as a result.
I wish that I had the ability to completely suspend all sales of petro-fuels to the U.S. Just shut off the taps one day, and say that I’ve made the decision to help you help the environment, because Obama said so.
Glenn, you are probably on an NSA list now. Oh shoot, who am I kidding, you were probably there before. Somebody probably saw you standing during the national anthem or saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
As each day goes forward, the plan of Soros and his ilk is becoming realized:
> The catastrophic increase in debt
> Unfettered illegal immigration
> The greater dependence on foreign, unfriendly sources of energy
> The gutting of American industrial capacity
> The complete ignorance of the Constitution
> The general destruction of the American Economy and American ideals
etc., etc., ad nauseum, ad infinitum
It is clear that we as Canadians may have to get away from the Titanic lest we be sucked in as she goes down. We must find new markets for our goods.
With the demise of the Pax Americana, the world will become an increasingly dangerous place as the world’s despots shake off the restraint that the United States Military has provided. It is clear we must unite with our fellow Dominions in order to provide for our common defense.
No net increase in CO2.
Yup….unlike bird/bat choppers and solar which are TOTALLY 100% CO2 free, produce no emmissions during manufacture, construction, and usage, and are self supporting, requiring no taxpayer or funny money subsidies. Oh yeah. And like electric cars that get their electricity from pixie dust and unicorn farts.
No problem to prove there will not be an increase in overall emissions. The oil that will move down Keystone will simply replace oil from Venezuela which has a larger carbon footprint that oilsands oil. It will also move Bakken oil in a pipeline as opposed to inefficient rail. Done deal.
Push back on misinformation. Speak up for the facts.
So what is the “Carbon footprint” of loading, shipping, and reloading Saudi Oil to be refined and pumped down pipelines across the US?
What is Obamba’s personal vacation footprint?
How much carbon does it take to overthrow a Middle Eastern/ North African country?
Screw america. No more oil for them. send all our oil to china. Let the muslim whitehouse buy its oil from their muslim brotherhood friends.
Obama will NEVER let the Keystone Pipeline go through while he is in office. This is a bone to throw to shore up his sagging ratings. If there was ever energy independence in the US, he would not be doing his job as an empty-suit and class A d-bag.
It alright.
Build the pipeline to the coast.
Build a refinery on the coast.
Sell the oil to the world.
Our southern neighbour is pretty much bankrupt.
I feel terrible for our Southern friends who haven’t gone to the dark side. Perhaps they can still pull it back from the precipice.
As mentioned, lets get back to the Dominion and protect ourselves from the world’s communists.
Canada, Australia, India, Britain and Canada can certainly stand on their own.
Canada isn’t Iran, we could have nukes by tomorrow night to discourage aggression.
The 21st century may very well belong to Canada.
This is just one example to illustrate the necessity of adjusting to the new reality of a Marxist USA.
The issue is CO2. CO2 is 72% oxygen. It is more correct (though equally wrong) to call it oxygen pollution as it is to call it carbon pollution. Please feel free to correct all of your friends, etc. in this regard. If someone talks about “carbon” pollution, let them know it is more correct to call it “oxygen” pollution. The math is as follows. Molecular weight of carbon is 12. Oxygen’s is 16 there are two oxygen and one carbon in CO2. Total molecular weight of CO2 is 12 + (2 X 16) = 44 of which 32 is oxygen, so 32/44=72% (well 72.7 but math is hard).
“Build the pipeline to the coast.
Build a refinery on the coast.
Sell the oil to the world.”
Doowleb, you are aware I trust of the boneheads who run things in BC? I would very much like to agree with you, but the Left Coast has rather different views. And the Right has dullards of its own. Namely the dear souls above who think that Canada can stop selling oil to the US and that the US will be significantly discommoded by this.
Ah me, time for a few folks here to grow up a bit.
I agree with the previous commenter. It is time to increase our refining capacity.
As the US heads into a decline we need to look after our own interests. Refining capacity looms large as does the capability of our armed forces.
We need to back to being strong, north and free.
We have to get our resources to the sea and then onto the world market so that we are not dependent on the goodwill of whoever is in the Whitehouse. Since the US economy will tank within a few years and insurrection or civil war are possible we should seek other customers such as Japan, India and Australia and have a trade route that is not dependent on crossing what could become a war zone.
If the US population comes to its senses and elects a pro-energy president that may not clear the way for Keystone XL. What would gain the most votes in the US, a plan to buy Canadian oil employing tens of thousands of workers while the pipeline is built or a plan to open up Federal lands to drilling and fracking which will permanently employ hundreds of thousands and keeping American dollars in the country? If you ‘buy American’ you won’t be buying Canadian.
You are a kook
So Obama, in dire need of a diversion from his up to his ears scandals messes, comes out and says “coal is bad, carbon is pollution”
Is he re-cycling Dulton’s speeches from five years ago?
The outcome will be the same. Huge amounts of taxpayer money will get flushed down the Great Green Gaia Crapper, the Eco Cronies wil get rich off the various taxpayer subsidized schemes and scams and all while the planet cools and the divergence between the climate models and the actual climate data gets ever greater.
We live in strange times.
Maybe Obama can trade Bo for Kyoto. Would Steffawn go for it?
The U.N. “green” lobby is a multi – BILLION (1 x 10 to the ninth) $ Industry, every year.
And no, “big oil” has never paid me a dime to say so.
Pity, and I wont cry when Al Gore is starving in the dark.
Not that I have no soul, I just have limited empathy, these days towards parasites.

Alberta & Texas will find a way. Have no doubts.
The North is panting for a pipeline, as is the East.
BC will just have passed on a big bank account.
Like California they can’t help but shoot themselves. Its in their DNA.
The Chinese taking over completely will change that.
Screw selling it to China, let’s sell it to terrorists or Russia or something.
Predicting what the laterday student of the Frankfurt School will do visa vis XL is not black magic.
OBOZO has no need for re-election….he has zero chance of repealing the 2 term limit. His primary interest is his legacy………. and personal survival.
Rational thinking, and this perfect storm of scandals, recognizes his legacy is pooched. The 2 aircraft carriers currently parked off Ireland, are empirical evidence he (and his handlers) are paranoid….justifiably.
Just relax for a momment and grok the big picture….there is a big disturbance in the force……
May the force be with you….it ain’t with OBOZO.
Unfortunately he is Half-wit in Chief.
Yup gotta limit that trace gas that’s essential to human life…and since when has mankind ever been able to have any affect on the climate. Not the weather, the climate. The climate changes over time. It’s a natually occuring phenomenon. Get over it.
I suggest that we get US politicians to be the first ones to reduce CO2 “pollution”. That means we start with putting Obozo and other vocal proponents of CAGW into an airtight box where their CO2 “pollution” will be contained for thousands of years. No politician who preaches the CAGW religion should ever again be allowed to set foot on an airplane or in an automobile. Time to bring back the horse drawn buggy for long distance travel; if it was good enough for George Washington, it’s too good for the current crop of Washington hypocrites.
As far as selling Canadian oil to the US, time to get the pipeline built across BC and start selling oil to the Chicoms. Once the second US revolution has taken place, and the central committee of the USSA is history, we can start doing business with those to the south of us. 30 years ago I would naver have imagined that the Russians and Chicoms would be the primary groups supporting capitalism and freedom of expression at this time.
In memory of his foulness, I suggest that we create a new measure of stupidity which will be known as the Obama (or BO for short). An exceedingly stupid person might be allocated a score of 0.01 BO units, someone like Michael Mann would weigh in at 0.1 BO’s and the UN’s CAGW propaganda department would get up to 0.6 BO’s. The BO score will be a complex function of the degree of stupidity exhibited by a person and their ability to screw up the world around them. For intelligent people, their BO coefficient would be negative and it’s no wonder that there’s disagreement between Canada and the USSA when PMSH weighs in at about -0.8 BO’s in comparison to the USSA’s TOTUS score of +1 BO. (The Teleprompter itself comes in at 0 BO’s — considerably more intelligent than Obozo)
well after a great trip from Europe it looks like Obama is getting ready to show everyone that the latest shot in his foot was just a one time thing, but a repeatable event.
Environmentalism is merely the subterfuge. The real opposition is motivated by the desire to inflict long term strategic economic damage to the USA. Someone could figure out how to do cold fusion in a paper cup and he would find a reason to sic his army of bureaucrats on the innovator. It’s entirely about seeing America laid low. When he spoke in that language of transformation, he meant transforming America into a weak, impoverished country. He sees that as righteous payback. He and his fellow travelers believe America and the West obtained their position entirely by ill gotten gain.
On the one hand, I sort of understand his frustration and testiness. I mean, he didn’t really try to disguise any of this. For instance, he was on record as saying the price of electricity would necessarily skyrocket under his policies. He was on record as saying a company would go bankrupt trying to operate a coal power plant.
Yet you have West Virginia, a state whose name is synonymous with coal, consistently electing Democrats to the Senate. Moral of the story: you can’t fix stupid.
Fasten seatbelts and assume crash position.
I think you are on the wrong site. This one is for grown ups.
I think your comment is self-evidently true. Accordingly, I don’t think you’re a kook, as a troll, in typical fashion, grunted earlier (with bad punctuation).
What’s even more bewildering, though, than the tendencies you identified in your comment is Obama’s behaviour on this thing. If he wanted to kill the thing, why not just have killed it back in November, and let the chips fall where they may with respect to a Congressional approval attempt over the head of the administration? The longer he delays, the stronger the forces in favour of the project become relative to its opponents and the more emboldened Congressional forces become — all of which we are seeing, including polling showing preponderant and increasing public support. Besides which, why posit an argument that his own state department under different secretaries has already countermanded twice? Barring any last-minute unforeseen moonbeam coming out of the public comment process (which, apparently, has been mostly favourable to the project), it seems likely to me that the department will do so again.
If he intends to approve the thing, why not show some leadership and just get on with it? I think he could use the distraction from a whole bunch of bad things which are truly killing him (even among his supporters), but he seems more interested in raising “leading from behind” to an art form than in doing anything concrete (or tubular, according to taste). A problem with the late election was that Romney was no Reagan, and Obama was no Carter (or so it seemed in the case of the latter comparison): on the other hand, this episode is becoming sorrier by the day, and is smelling more and more like Carter’s “leadership from every home in America” moment on energy policy.
One final point: if there is going to be a schismatic day of reckoning in America, the route of Keystone XL (quite apart from its purposes) takes it through those parts of the country which are likely to be better off, IMO, in the wake of such trama. So, I’m not really inclined to cut my nose off in spite of my face over the prospect of American declinism.
Regardless, the whole thing seems very weirdly to me. Reagan, both Bushes, both Clintons, and all Canadian prime ministers since 1980 (except for Trudeau — maybe even him, too) would have had this thing approved, bought and paid for by now.
cgh;
Actually Obama is doing Canada a big favor. Maybe a little reality discussion is needed in Canada about what pays the bills. Northern Gateway has to be built for economic reasons but also for national security reasons. AT some point Canadians have to grow up and chart their own course and not blindly follow the Americans.
Americans are our cousins. My family came from the USA 2 generations ago. That does not mean best friends cannot have different priorities. Northern Gateway will be built because it is not BC’s call it is a Federal decision. Opposition in BC will fall like a house of cards when the backroom talks begin.
The economic imperative surrounding oil sand development resides to a large extent on how quickly and how cheaply alternate sources are developed. Shale oil and gas and eventually methane hydrate could undermine investment in Ft. Mac. Canada has to develop this asset as quickly as possible to capture the investment and then lower the production cost.
Yes cgh, I’m fully aware of BC’s opposition to any pipeline to the sea. I’m sure you are aware that the pipeline doesn’t need to traverse BC.
You are also probably aware that the Federal Gov’t could force the issue if they choose to.
If McGuinty can circumvent any and all environmental laws and municipal opposition for his socialist bird blenders, Harper can change or enact laws to override BC jurisdiction. If Canada’s economic survival is deemed at peril, extraordinary measures can and will be done.
If Canada was at war, could BC deny access to the coastal ports? I don’t think so.
What I find most disturbing is that the leader of the free world has had 5 years to do a little research. To discover that a one third of one percent trace gas , essential for life is not a pollutant and the overwhelming evidence that it does not cause global warming. That he’s willing to destroy what’s left of the economy in the name of Voodoo science and Hollywood court jesters. Instead of endless vacations and golf games perhaps he could have sat down and pondered the endless articles questioning this scam. With so much at stake,…….at least look at both sides of the debate. Just question articles like this and hundreds more: http://co2insanity.com/2011/12/15/eight-questions-to-kill-the-kyoto-climate-protocol-in-2012/
I guess golf and vacation is more important to a narcissist who cannot be wrong.
I do find it absolutely remarkable that supposedly intelligent people are still merrily swallowing the global warming hoax. It is a sorry reflection on mankind and it suggests an almost total inability of many people to think for themselves.

Note the photo from this usually not seen angle including the Capitol Power Plant:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/06/25/obama-will-reportedly-introduce-new-carbon-emissions-rules-in-climate-change/
Here is some introductory info on this power plant, it includes the co2 output from the plant supplying the Capitol buildings with heating and cooling water. Not that I care if they produce co2 / plant fertilizer in abundance, I just want to point out that the hypocrisy of the idiot in chief for demanding others improve. Enjoy your $100 million trip to Africa B. Hussien.
