  5. Alberta Town Would Shutdown Without Foreign Workers. The question needs to be asked, why should taxpayers subsidize foreign workers for any business? The annual cost to the taxpayer of Immigration and Refugees is 23B more than we pay to keep Quebec happy, more than we hand over to the Natives and still enough left to operate our military.   6. Josh I loved Jonathan Winters. Can you imagine serving two years in the Marines with him. I remember is weekly TV show in the ’60’s. Way past my bedtime but I would sneak out to watch. My mother would take pity on me and let me watch. Many good belly laughs as young as I was. RIP

  15. This is odd,but not unexpected.
    I joined up as a Liberal ‘supporter’. It took me about 20 minutes to register because the 34 character registration code had 4 capital “O”‘s or zeroes. But I did complete the registration by using trial and error.
    My PIN number did not arrive . I could not vote without it. I waited patiently, with bait on my breath,for the hard-working postie to arrive with my PIN every day this week. Alas ,I was disappointed,only bills and a letter from my friend William.
    Today,I called the Liberal hot-line. It appears that I did not register successfully. But,I did. I put up a comment about this earlier. I first spoke to Rhonda and expressed my concern. She took my info,and after about 15 seconds, transferred me. The next fellow that I spoke to at Lib HQ (Ajay),nice enough fellow,said that I had not registered. I said ” no.you are wrong,I have registered and explained my angst about the zeroes and capital “O'”‘s. He told me that the capital “O’ s were a bit wider and “yeah,they had a few problems with that”. Fair enough. BUT,I did register and recieved confirmation that I had successfully registered.
    However.it got really interesting after that. I was told because I wasn’t registered I could not vote.I said,”but I am”. Then he asked me if I lived at 401-1X ave,XX ,Calgary.
    I used to live there,but moved 5 years ago. They had me pegged at that address,as well as my current address.
    THAT is DISTURBING.
    I did sign up to all the major parties to get their info(even Lizzies) some time ago,but I only signed up to the Conservative party as a member,paid the fee and all that. That was in 2005,as an Alliance member.
    I realize that my opinions are too radical(honest)to be associated with the party I support.
    I questioned Ajay about my concerns. He would not say how or why my previous address is on file. He assured me that I wasn’t inelgible because I was from Alberta or because of my earlier association with the Canadian Alliance. I must have been mistaken about completing the registration. BS,I did complete the registration.
    I let it go at that. I did tell him that Joyce lost a vote,and he seemed to be confused. I clarified it for him ” Joyce Murray,the one who wants to convince the NDP to help the Liberals”. A light went off,he had heard about her.
    Anyways,I cannot vote for Joyce because the Liberals haven’t changed their spots,and I am not Canadian enough or smart enough to vote for the Liberal party.
