Click on all four of the English-language links at the site — but then, I’m sure you’ve already seen the numerous reports on CBC/CTV/CNN, and heard the outraged statements of noisy white western feminists like Maude Barlow, Naomi Klein, Laurie Penny, etc., etc., etc.

  3. Re: Bing Crosby “You’re a Sweet Little Headache”
Thanks EBD. What a voice. And not a pop or a scratch on the recording! Wow!!

  4. For the PETA file:

“People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is actively shopping for a drone that would “stalk hunters,” the organization said Monday

  5. What a set of pipes on that man. An absotulely pure, flawless singing voice.
The obvious joke is, of course, if someone tried to record those lyrics today he’d be met with torches and pitforks from the fems and liberals..

  6. EBD: I echo your sentiments concerning Annette. She was every pubescent boy’s dream girl in that era. The remarkable thing about her was that throughout her life there was never a hint of scandal or misbehaviour.
Of course I have a personal interest as well given that my wife is in the latter stages of the same type of MS that Annette suffered from.
Those interested would be well advised to look at a CTV documentary about Annette and her MS…very touching, very well done, and very instructive. It is widely available on the net.

  7. Bruce, I agree. She was my sweetheart when I was a kid. May she rest in peace.

At their funeral on Saturday politicians were mobbed by furious friends and family who denouced the deaths as ‘murder by the state’.”

  11. Ulster’s Teigs were quick to throw a drunken and violent party on the news that Margaret Thatcher had died, reminding the rest of us of all we need to know about Teigs and that Baroness Thatcher was doing God’s work fighting the IRA.
A Democratic Unionist member of the Stormont [i.e. Northern Ireland] assembly has denounced republican celebrations following the death of Margaret Thatcher.
Jonathan Bell described parties organised in Derry and Belfast as “disappointing and disgusting”.
In one incident a petrol bomb was thrown at a passing police patrol near Free Derry corner during a street party.
In [the Teig ghettos of] Belfast people celebrated on the streets by sounding their car horns and opening champagne bottles.

  12. Have a look at:
    http://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/brian-mulroney-on-justin-trudeau-what-s-not-to-like-1.1229406
As a general proposition, I agree with Mr. Mulroney, but my support for his position is purely contingent in this case. If Mr. Trudeau, Jr. wishes to engage Canadians in a serious debate about serious policies about serious subjects, then we should be more than willing to oblige, and he will own the result. If, on the other hand, Mr. Trudeau, Jr., as he is on current form, wishes to engage in the usual Liberal tactic of bait-and-switch, relying solely on his paternity, etc., then, IMHO, he needs to own that outcome as well.
Say what you like about Mr. Mulroney, Sr. and Mr. Mulroney, Jr., at least both of them have extra-political careers that they take seriously and which they built, for the most part, by themselves, even if they are not ones I would have chosen.
