Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Let’s see I’ve got 3 kids, all through private schools on our meager family earnings.
All of them are straight A students; you might say I hit the kid lottery.
I don’t want your help, I don’t need your help, I can look after my own kids.
If I needed an after school nanny I hired one, I don’t need or want a nanny state ‘sugar daddy’ because our society currently has a hate on for dad’s who care about their kids.
In the words of my youngest daughter, with a wide sweeping hand motion, take your useless projection of uncaring families and “GO AWAY!”
The state is not an ‘ersatz family’…!
Cheers

ah, hands (hans) U missed the intend, U do not own your kids, and as a kristian U should be most aware of this concept, but you do have a responsibility to the children you begat. And the community does have an extended responsibility to all (God’s) children, and so when they grow up they will take their place in a society and take some responsibility upon themselves, and they will!!!Tho I have to agree that some ppl, cons and lefties, do take things too far, such as prayers in class rooms, and the teaching of “sex” to children who are too young to grasp the concept
The other side of the coin is that when precious Johnny or Jane mess up,the parents can point fingers at the community.
Sometimes it takes a village to raise an idiot.
At least we have a precise definition for what “Lean Forward” means at MSNBC. Stalin and Hitler would have been proud to see their dreams carried on in the USA as well as Canada. Our Professors are doing what the threat of Atomic war could not. Destroying the free world from within. Paid for with our tax dollars.
Well if it’s the state’s responsibility to raise the kids, maybe it’s also the state’s responsibility to breed them in the first place. Human cattle — the endgame of liberalism
Oh no I didn’t miss the intent…I got it loud and clear.
If anything my children are on loan from a greater power than myself and it isn’t the state!
Cheers

Basically shes just describes the thinking that has already pretty well screwed a whole generation of kids (right in front of their parent(s))- like was said awhile ago they just don’t try to hide it anymore.
Well if the professor once belonged to everyone, I say she still does.
She better bend over…
Best comment on this was over at the Ace of Spades HQ, they want other children because they murdered their own.
What Hans said…In spades.
Pol Pot would be proud.
If these agents of big brother think they own my kids they owe me big time for support and education – pay up of FO.
The social responsibility to look out for children whose parents are not there or cannot or are not living up to their responsibility is the exception, not the rule itself.
Utopians, somehow feel their “good” intentions, justify their megalomania.
Right you are, Hans.
If one of these fascist pigs gets within 20 feet of one of my grandchildren I’ll cut their heart out with a rusty pair of hedge trimers.
This train’s been coming down the track for a long time, and it’s the agenda behind luring moms out of the home, where they lovingly and fiercely cared/care for their husbands and children, to “fulfill themselves” and to make salaries to keep them and their families in myriad creature comforts they had/have no need of — and to provide tax monies for the government and bigger and better profits for the companies for which they worked/work.
As a very wise member of REAL Women once said, “I’d rather go to bed with my husband than the state.” The state, however, would rather women bed down with them, all the better to take their child/ren away from them while insisting that they really care.
The “ists” crowd — Marxists, feminists, statists, socialists, activists of all stripes — is salivating to get our children as young as they can, so that they can indoctrinate them into their way of thinking. Our poor kids. They’re vulnerable and defenseless. This is the agenda behind the publicly funded daycare movement and all-day kindergartens.
To the ramparts!
Where, how and why do these idiots come up with this stuff? Is logic not available? (don’t answer, I know that one). I agree with angel above. My children are young adults now and quite convinced that socialism is a broken concept. I managed to teach them the basics of that and then let them experience the reality of working in relatively high income jobs and seeing what they had left at the month’s end.
But, again, as to angel’s point, I have no grandchildren yet (although my son is engaged – imagine that! Getting married and THEN having kids!) but when I do, I’ll make sure I try to carry on my original work. I just hope the world doesn’t suck so much that they eventually wish they weren’t born.
‘Am with you, Hans. Thanks for your insights.

After listening to an interview with a former “community child” of a North Korean prison camp, I can see a future for this idiot at the aforementioned camp.
Might be off topic (or not) but this North Korean was born and raised in the socialist prison and did not know anything existed outside the prison until he was 23. If you wonder why there are hoards of goose-stepping soldiers ready to cross the 38th, it is because they don’t know any better.
What? You JUST STARTED sleeping in your chair with a shotgun – late comer to the “culture war”
This is just plain evil. Dished up in Marxist cant.
I always thought socialist where better at killing children than teaching them. Time has born that out. In fact I believe they love abusing, grooming with brainwashing your children. While they sit back boosting abortion, along with child rapists. So much for the Community these leeches have created.
Tragedy of the commons comes to mind. Or native reserves where they live just like that. When no individual is responsible then no one takes responsibility. When everyone is responsible no one is to blame. The greatest tragedies of history come when no one is responsible.
I did not take her remarks as a push for more state control — just that the whole community needs to be concerned about how kids turn out and provide support to paretns, because if they do not turn out well, we will all suffer the consequences. Some people don’t think they should pay school taxes because they don’t have kids. When kids are little we think of them as belonging to their parents, but once they are grown, they are you neighbors, co-workers, etc. and you had better hope they are responsible human beings. The community does have a responsibility to do well by children. The message is not for Hans )who obviously deserves the Nobel parent award), but lots of parents mess up and that’s where others can play a role.
In a normal White House, in a normal time, a normal President would immediately refute such bile.
In his silence, Barry shows us all that he agrees with this tripe.
But again I forgot. This whole way of thinking is all part of the overall plan.
There can be no doubt.
Linda, there is a very good case to be made for the utility of education benefiting the whole community and therefore deserving its support. The question is “what is that community?” and in this case the only answer is “the smallest possible unit” – i.e. neighborhood/parish/faith group/charter school etc. Same goes for supporting families or children in need; letting the state (or even the city) take care of it is abrogating the responsibility – YOUR responsibility, Paying taxes to support state intervention, by the way, is no substitute at all – it’s just a way to feel good about not doing what you should.
Spare the rod of correction and spoil the child. Same goes for the leftist children who need a community to raise their village idiots.
Well, in the MSNBC pundit’s “community,” where the disgusting Marxist fantasy of community of women has been realized to disastrous results, it might well be argued she has a point. It’s not as if your average dimwit Jezebel will have any good way of figuring out which of her gallants is the father.
Frank Q.: “In his silence, Barry shows us all that he agrees with this tripe.”
His single mother wife says he’s just “THERE.” No wonder Barry is speechless.
Thanks for the important reminders, RFB.
This is commie crap that is no longer taught in the hallowed halls of our so called higher education. Or education at any level for that matter.
We need to know.
I suppose what MSNBC has in mind is that the community could buy the children clothes, identical clothes kind of like a uniform so that all children are treated equally. Why the children could tell their community leaders just what Mommy and Daddy talk about when they think no one is listening. I think I saw something like this once in a movie.
“Everyone’s responsibility” is no one’s responsibility. History is littered with things that government has declared itself responsible for, with that result.
The professor is working from the viewpoint that government never makes a mistake, which is ridiculous.
no no no, sorry LindaL. Sure, on the surface it may appear benevolent but in the long-term context it’s downright scary, frightening. That some see it as less than that makes it even more frightening as that’s the way it’s been planned. Sheesh, I sound like Dale Gribble.
If it were one isolated comment then okay, I’d maybe give the benefit of the doubt but it’s not. This crap needs to be nipped in the bud (and it’s probably too late for that) and fought against to the highest degree.
From Mike and the Mechanics…”Silent running”
…our sons and daughters will rise up and fight where we stood still….
LindaL, if there is one thing the left is always harping on it is that words matter. That’s why they love speech codes and such. When one of them says that children do not belong to their parents that is exactly what they mean. We can try to find other meaning in those words but at their core they state what the mean. Words matter.
That silly bi— would never clean up a child if he soils himself or gets sick. She would never wait in a doctor’s office if the child has the flu. She won’t help him with his homework, make him eat his vegetables, send him to bed or even help him make a Halloween costume- all the custodial but very necessary things parents do everyday. These selfless people have always had the right to teach values and morals even for only the reasons I’ve stated before.
I do not trust this woman to mean that healthy communities are good for children. I take her meaning to be what comments similar to hers always mean- she wants the control but none of the responsibility of raising children. She can go to hell.
You and batb have it exactly right. This is what the Bolsheviks have been working toward for decades 10 decades.
Just step back a bit and think about how many people in our institutions think this way today. The gulags are not far behind.
Well Frank, this commie crap is being taught in our schools as a good thing. They just call it progressive.
Well said Hans.
Should have had a comma after the first decade.
It takes a village to raise a child – when the parents refuse to do it…
Well, let’s give this idea a try. I suggest taking away the kids of all muslims and raising them by the state. That way they won’t blow up so fast. If there are any surviving “teachers” from this experiment then maybe we can have them try the experiment on another groups children.
Wow. Almost a perfect avatar.
Education and other soft majors like buffoonications draw in these automatons like flies. This one hasn’t had an original thought due to her years of so-called “higher education” (indoctrination). She’s a parrot. It’s obvious looking at her that there’s no-one at home in there. If you think a fear of zombies is impractical, look again; you’ve just seen one.
Watching Brian Lilley last night interviewing Andrea Mrozek, she put the inane comment by Hillary Clinton, “it takes a village to raise a child,” into context. Mrozek said,
It takes a family to raise a village.
Remember that one folks. It’s the perfect rejoinder to the idiotic notion that “a village” can raise a child. What a cop-out, Hillary. I also like wallyj’s rejoinder: ” Sometimes it takes a village to raise an idiot.” Touche!
@Batb
You got that right on daycare! Publicly funded daycare is being implemented by stealth. Every school built has a daycare and those that don’t are renovated. You can bet your life the commies in the education system are not going to lease these sites to private contractors!
“Lean Forward”, Oh yeah, #### You.
Thucydides (ca. 460 BC-ca. 395 BC) stated: “[T]hey devote a very small fraction of time to the consideration of any public object, most of it to the prosecution of their own objects. Meanwhile each fancies that no harm will come to his neglect, that it is the business of somebody else to look after this or that for him; and so, by the same notion being entertained by all separately, the common cause imperceptibly decays.”[5]
It took a lot of villages to raise these village idiots, and liberals and liberal parties all over the world are rejoicing they have a never ending supply of idiots, here is just more proof.
You should use a spoon–because it hurts more!!!
The Scientific American publication (April 2013) has an article about the State raising children “Anguish of the Abandoned Child”. The scientific study of the State mandated policy of Romania communism 1966. Conclusion: The children that were abandoned to state institutions developed low IQ & defective Brain activity.
Was the opinion, that a phony “private right” existed for parents to take responsibility for thier children, based on the self-analysis of an anal retentive moron
It is clear that science doesn’t exist to support the Children of drug abuser parents. We have an abundance of stupid pll whose brains are not functioning except to vote socialist!
I need my house cleaned and my grass cut.
When can I expect our children to swing on by and get it done?
