Free Saskatoon!

Faster, please;

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission will investigate a complaint against the City of Saskatoon and a city councillor.
Saskatoon resident Ashu Solo launched the complaint last year over a prayer offered by Coun. Randy Donauer during a volunteer appreciation banquet held in April 2012.
At the time, Solo said he was “extremely offended by the inclusion of a Christian prayer, which makes non-Christians feel like second-class citizens.”
In a letter, the commission says they have determined there is sufficient evidence to suggest the code may have been violated.
Last December, Solo lodged a complaint with the city over “Merry Christmas” greetings that appeared on the message board of city buses.

When the nannystate monsters turn on the governing class, nothing but good can come of it.

  1. And so where do the laws in Canada state that there will be a separation of Church and State, for starters?
Our National Anthem, if it were to be sung in its entirety, would probably make this thin-skinned, professional, s*#t-disturber’s head explode, causing a toxic waste spill. Who is going to clean that up? Tax payers dollars?
Welcome to Canada, Mr. Solo, a nation which has its rights and freedoms based on the Word of God. Take a look at our Constitution, and our Charter and see Whom it is that our country acknowledges as our source for everything we are stewards of. You chose this country, you benefit from the prosperity of this country, you have the right to respect the founding fathers and mothers who built this country.
If you don’t like it, go someplace else. There is lots of room in other parts of the world.

  2. Just another attack via the state against Christians, they haven’t got the guts to go after the Islamists so they persecute an easy target. Personally I think it’s time to ramp up the HRCs must go movement.

  3. If this is what Solo is up to these days, I’m thinking that it’s too bad that Greedo and Jabba didn’t get him first.

  4. I’ve heard this guy interviewed on the radio. Not a pleasant person. Extremely unhappy and desperate for attention.
Unfortunately there are idiotic organizations like the Human Wrongs Kangaroo Courts which give him wayyyyyyyyyy too much power.

  5. This Solo character is a perpetually offended grievance collector with waaaay too much time on his hands. I honestly don’t know what motivates him, or people of his ilk for that matter, however I strongly suspect that serious abnormal psychological forces enter into the equation. Much like the obnoxious drunk at the ballpark yelling at the umpire, he should be ignored until he either shuts up or goes away. Preferably both.

  6. From an interview of Ashu Solo at
    //freethoughtblogs.com/crommunist/2012/05/17/full-interview-with-ashu-solo/
“I’m an interdisciplinary researcher, electrical engineer, computer engineer, intelligent systems engineer, political and public policy engineer, mathematician, and entrepreneur. I’m also a progressive political writer, progressive activist, and civil rights activist. I’m currently a representative on the Saskatoon Cultural Diversity and Race Relations Committee, an advisory committee to Saskatoon City Council. I served honorably as an infantry officer and platoon commander understudy in the Cdn. Army Reserve.”
I’m the author, editor, or associate editor of 364 engineering and math research and political commentary publications. I’ve created new branches of math, which are published. I’ve defined and originated new interdisciplinary fields, which are published.
    “created new branches of math”???
    “platoon commander understudy”???
Sounds like a lot of BS to me.

  7. The beauty of this is that the Mayor and Councillors are personally on the hook for any legal fees. I hope this culminates with Mayor Atch screaming in Brad Wall’s face.

  8. When you make these parasites answerable to nobody, not politicians, not the real law, then you suffer the consequences of self important, power hungry idiots who are trying to flex their wee dicks.
When you let the complainant off scott free, with nothing to answer to for frivolous or dismissed slap suits, when they get to have an organization that is force funded by us against ourselves you got troubles.
That starts with t and rhymes with c (commission comrade) , right here in Canerder eh?
Ezra wastes himself on mere oblivious Canadians.
Beginning to think a certain worman is giving classes on his/her spare time on how to ruin Canada in ten easy steps..

  9. No, Wall won’t eliminate the HRC,any more than he’ll eliminate government auto insurance.
Governments seem to have an attachment to the HRC’s in all Provinces and Federally, even if they do claim to be other than “progressive”. I hypothesize that all governments realize what a powerful weapon the HRC’s can be if an enemy arises that might actually change the Canadian political status quo, perhaps the equivalent of a Ron Paul.
When you mention curtailing the power of the HRC’s to a politician, they usually mutter a vague “Canadians hold their human rights sacred”,and change the subject.
Take a page from Alinsky’s handbook, use their own weapons against them rather than sit back and cry in outrage.THAT is the only way any government will ever consider any action on HRC’s.
Good for this guy in Saskatoon, he’s demonstrated the absurdity of the HRC’s better than anyone.

  10. In saner times past ,the public would simply ignore this flake. Thanks to HRC’s they now have a stage to feel important. The very fact we are even talking about this is the best reason to eliminate this kangaroo court of mental midgets.

  11. Ashu Solo, no relation to that famous space pirate Hans Solo, needs to grow up, get a life and quit being such a prissy jerk.

  12. Mein Gott.
The creatures raised up to advance the spending agenda are turning against their creators. The brown shirts are no longer useful to the black shirts. At least it would appear.

  13. Kate, “The beauty of this is that the Mayor…”
Knowing this changes everything about the argument. 🙂

  14. If the mayor and councilors are personally at risk in this HRC farce, I’m sure some bright little bulb in the provincial apparat will find a way for the taxpayers to end up paying for it.
In the mean time I’m happy to imagine the phone calls to various department heads. 🙂

  15. White working males have a prime human rights case to be made.
If the provincial governments will not remove these witch tribunals, we should force their hands.
I am discriminated against, I pay more in taxes than all the benefit I can reasonably expect from government.
As a redneck, the state media constantly makes derogatory statements about me and as a white male I am last in the line up on any govt program.
But first to be forced to pay.
Just imagine the chaos of people like me obsessively whining to the kangaroo courts of the HRC.
And government agents, stating that they will selectively enforce the law, is a terrible violation of all taxpayers human rights.
Without rule of law, equality of all before those laws, civilization is done and no one has any humans rights.

  16. Heh, they’re eating their own…and he is a second class citizen. First class citizens have the strength of character to go about their business without whining that someone offended them.

  17. The HRC does does not accept any case from white straight working males. I don’t think they are even considered for employment as they are all evil.

  18. Ever see a home or business security ad with people in it?
    What color are those people?
Ever see an ad for this with burka babes in it? No? How about that.

  19. 50 bucks says this “I-invented-math” nutjob changed his name and after two chocolate martinis he’ll explain how he’s a Jedi.

Man. The needle on my BS meter is irrapairably bent! To accomplish all this,he has to be at least 120 years old. What a crap. Deport the rent seeker now

  21. It seems to me that religions are essentially a template for daily living. As a general rule I am a big fan of Christians. This is because, although the range of people who say they fall into the Christian template is wide, anecdotally, it seems to me that most people who profess to follow the Christian template are not known for throwing acid in little girls’ faces because they want to go to school. So if Christians want to show a Merry Christmas sign on a bus or say a very quick blessing before a meal, I am not too troubled. I also have a certain degree of respect for tax-paying atheists. Should they have to pay more tax because I get a deduction for the annual donation I make to the religion of my choice each year? So for me it is seven of one half a dozen of the other. If Az Holo or whatever his name is wins there may be a silver lining. If Christians don’t get to say prayers at public events I don’t think I should ever have to listen to the religious spirituality of the HiYa, YaYa song again when dining at a function open to the public. Because of course, if the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission, in their great wisdom shuts down Christian prayer in public they would no doubt shut down any religious spirituality being shoved down our throats or up any other sphincter controlled access route.

  22. Justthinkin, I had a laugh reading some of that baloney. What the hell is a platoon commander understudy?

  23. A disgusting complainant to a disgusting commission.
In my 31 year association with the reserves I never heard of a platoon commander understudy.
It is past time to defang the HRC, but I do not believe Wall has the brass ones to do this.

  24. Yes this is the litmus test to determine if Brad Wall is any different than his NDP predecessors.
He just spoke recently how his government is working at reducing green house gases that cause global warming in response to Obama’s veiled threat in the state of the union address. His government has committed billions to carbon capture. That is very telling when all the science shows that global warming is a hoax.
It was the NDP that lowered the oil royalties as Alberta raised theirs creating a positive economic climate at Alberta’s expense. So he can’t take credit for that.
No, If Brad Wall wants a legacy of freedom for the people, this will be it. If not, there really is no difference between him and Lorne Calvert.

  26. When People during the Christmas season Wish me Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings, I am insulted as it is the CHRISTMAS SEASON and Merry Christmas is the proper greeting and salutation.

  27. I thought that Wall was going to turn rights complaints over to the courts to decide. I’m ashamed to have supported him. Are there no politicians that we can trust to keep their word or stand up for rationality.

  28. Lickmuffin nailed it way back there.
Actually I’m offended at what mr. Solo said. Where do I lodge a complaint and collect my money?
