These people are trying to mount a campaign against Sun News. Let’s use their own link against them. Make sure to select “Support” instead of “Oppose” in the 4th step.
It’s a multi-stage process, but not too painful.

It’s a multi-stage process, but not too painful.
All ready done.
Done and done.
Done.
Done – in my comments I forgot to put something profound about freedom of speech – so if someone could do that in their comments, I’d appreciate that!
Done. I also sent in a handwritten letter.
Done ,done, done, and ,done!!
I spent all last week typing, hand writing and submitting forms, there is no limit to the amount you can submit!!
So throw an hour at it folks!!
Done.
Tedious process, but got ‘er done. I don’t even watch TV, but this is a freedom of speech issue.
Done.
Sent the link with the “modified” support response to my mailing list.
Done, my supporting comment;
“I support the SunTV application as it provides a refreshingly different point of view to CBC, CTV and others who carry monotonously similar views. Indeed, it will shake things up – make them work harder ”
Talk about Byzantine bureaucratise! But, done.
I submitted this comment:
“I do not request to appear at the public hearing.
I support Sun News Media’s application for mandatory distribution on analog and digital basic service in Canada (Reference #2012-0687-1). Sun TV is inadequately available to many Canadian cable viewers, who should not be forced to pay extra for a channel they choose to watch, particularly when basic cable service contains channels in the news broadcasting field (CNN, CBC and CTV) they have chosen not to watch.”
Done.. and commented, either give the carriage, or deny it to everyone.. level the playing field.
Done
I believe our news media landscape is currently unbalanced due to a majority of outlets reflecting a similar viewpoint being included in mandatory cable bundles. I encourage the CRTC to address this imbalance by finding in favour of this application.
From the lefties: Canadians should not be forced to pay for a channel they have chosen not to watch.
The irony is almost too much to bear.
Done.
Stated I did not watch CTV or CBC but would watch Sun TV because unlike the others Sun had higher integrity.
Done. If we’re forced to pay for the CBC, we need a counterweight to their biased, leftist propaganda.
Done like dinner. But I will remind all my friends here that a hand-written letter carries the same weight as hundreds of emails like that. Even if you type it out on your ‘puter and print it it will be far more persuasive. Just be sure to sign it with a pen and do it today!
Completed it, but I’m convinced that we should send letters.
Even with my arthritic hand, I can make it legible enough for them to
understand so would urge everyone to do the same.
Done
Read some of the forms content, slightly dumber now. Done.
I am in support of Sun News Network’s application for carriage for mandatory cable as the rules currently structured should allow for a maximum latitude for free speech as guaranteed under the Charter. Anything less simply becomes an infringement of speech to “political correctness”. Free speech should be maximized in a free and democratic society regardless of whether one agrees or disagrees with the views put forth. Sun News Network should be an option for any viewer. Moreover, no one forces the viewer to sit in front of their TV for informational purposes. In conclusion, Sun News Network’s application should be approved.
Cheers

Done.
I hope I remember after the decision to go back to Public Response and thank them for their help in making the process known so that I could send that message supporting Sun.
Done! Ha ha, I love it when a leftist’s plan goes awry!
You should check to see if your submission has actually been included at the CRTC. I put one in a couple of weeks ago and my submission doesn’t show in their records. Something odd going on at CRTC.
I wish Canadian TV wasn’t ultra-regulated but so long as it is, Sun should get carry. Done.
Done
Illiterates against Sun News:
“…then Sun Media Corporation will pocket enough to continue broadcasting it’s [sic] right wing, pro-Conservative propaganda 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
Done. Who the hell do these people think they are?
for comments I quoted official broadcast policy
serves to safeguard, enrich and strengthen the cultural, political, social and economic fabric of Canada,
(ii) encourage the development of Canadian expression by providing a wide range of programming that reflects Canadian attitudes, opinions, ideas, values and artistic creativity, by displaying Canadian talent in entertainment programming and by offering information and analysis concerning Canada and other countries from a Canadian point of view.
Done, we must insure that this service is provided to all Canadians and not Shutout by the lame stream media such as CBC, CTV and others.
Good info Kate, I forwarded it on to SunTv a lot of good links, if you explore their site, they are obviously a union front.
“I support more Canadian content and having Sun News available on basic cable nationwide. Before Sun news came about, the news in Canada was heavily left leaning and, in my opinion, did not dig into the issue and do hard-nosed reporting on stories important to me as a taxpayer and as a lesbian.
I do not request to appear at the public hearing.”
Can’t let them think the left wing owns the gay people. 🙂
If you oppose state funding for the CBC but think all cable subscribers should be forced to carry Sun News – you might be a conservative.
Done, comments follow:
“This is a matter of freedom of speech and the permitting of choice by the viewing public. Attempts to prevent Sun News from being fully accessible in all households are a willful campaign of censorship against differing views. Sun News takes a different tack on public issues from CBC and CTV and deserves to be heard. This is Canada and freedom of speech should not be impeded by special interest groups with their own political bias.”
They say “Canadians should not be forced to pay for a channel they have chosen not to watch.”
So what about CBC?
Canadians deserve to hear Canadian points of view over the content of foreign based media. Please listen to Canadians who consider our establishment media to be in need of home grown competition.
Done. Don’t force us to pay for CBC.
Done but tedious as hell. Also sent letter just to be doubly sure.
The CRTC are a bunch of morons and deserve to be messed with.
Hard copy submissions do NOT need to be handwritten (I contacted the CanadianTVFirst admin), so feel free to draft a note on your computer and print/send those too.
Thanks to Kate for promoting this, and all others who have participated, it really is the least we can do.
Do not let the socialists win (and they will if the only opposing network dies) because of our laziness and apathy.
Done, with pleasure—and several snorts and harrumphs! The CBC is getting way beyond its remit. It and the Canadian Press have proclaimed themselves the Official Media Opposition. Those twerps who carry on about the Harper Dictatorship are actually living in a mirror-image of reality. We MUST have a media outlet that is sustainable as a counter to the overwhelming brain-washing that goes on at public expense.
These are some of the interventions submitted

Done…
here’s my submission:
I support Sun News Media’s application for mandatory distribution on analog and digital basic service in Canada (Reference #2012-0687-1). Even though Sun TV is already available to nearly all Canadian cable and satellite viewers, it should be as readily available as all other “competing” news services, including those that do not originate in Canada. If it is assumed that Canadians should not be forced to pay for a channel they have chosen not to watch, why the h-e-double hockey sticks should I have to pay for the CBC?.
And I sent a copy of it to the Public Response folks.
Yeah, look around their site…just the usual collection of lefties and unionists.
Mailed my letter yesterday.
I included this quote from William F. Buckley Jr.
“Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.”
Done. Next step I would like to see is the complete elimination of the CRTC. Let the consumer decide what they want to watch and pay for.
DONE! Well worth a few minutes of my time.
Done, and dead tree letter on its way by snail mail. Also commeted…
“Ahhhhhhhhhaha. Scratch a Tides,Soros,WWF,eco-cultist,leftie website, and see the hypocrisy. So it’s aokay for taxpayers to fund the left’s media arm,the CBC,but not for taxpayers to fund Sun News? The left believes in free speech,as long as it is their speech. Racist against Conservatives!!!
Poated this on the anti-Sun site. Any odds on it getting published?
My submission focused on this particular campaign to deny the Sun a spot in the basic cable package. BTW,APTN also wants to move on up,but it would be racist to denounce their network. It would not bother me,they are good at what they do,which is supplying news and programming from a native POV. However, their potential audience pales in comparison to Sun News. Anyways;

This comment originates from the “Public Response” website, a company with very close ties to the CBC. The president of the company,Steve Staples, often appears on the CBC news as a commentator. Two of his clients are, the “David Suzuki Foundation”,and “Friends of Canadian Broadcasting”. Both these organizations have very close ties with the CBC.
Sun News has been very critical of both the CBC and of Mr. Suzuki.I believe that this particular campaign has been funded by one of these groups, which would in my opinion be highly unethical, and possibly criminal if they are acting ‘by proxy’ for the government broadcaster. This campaign should be investigated,at the very least the comments opposing the Sun application should be given little weight.
This is a commercial campaign to seriously hinder a network that has the integrity to expose the ‘flaws’ at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and to question their relationship with Dr.Suzuki.
If it is a personal campaign by the president of the company, there is a clear conflict of interest due to his paid appearances on CBC.
The CRTC must investigate this further to ensure that our Canadian media is not being hi-jacked by special interest groups,or much worse, being manipulated by a taxpayer funded crown corporation.
The integrity and credibility of both the CBC and the CRTC must not only be above reproach, they must also be perceived as being above reproach.

This campaign disguises itself as a righteous effort to deny Sun News access to your bank account. We’re not fooled.
It is one part of many to silence the opposition to the socialization of Canada. SunNews, the Conservatives, and sites such as SDA,BCF,and many others, are all dominoes that stand in the way of the UTOPIA that exists in the minds of the left.
Imagine Justin negotiating with Putin or an ayatollah, imagine Lizzie May setting environmental goals, imagine Palmater heading “First Nations” policy. Scary, isn’t it. But that is their dream team.
If Sun News goes, the Conservatives will fall quicker, then the blogs, next in line to be crushed, you and I.
Done
When Sun News Network launched in 2011, we were told in defiant tones that it would never stoop to the level of other networks and demand what is known as mandatory carriage on Canadian cable TV networks. Obliging cable providers to include Sun News in their basic cable packages, which would cost cable clients an additional $4 or so per year, was tantamount to a “tax,” its spokesman said at the time. No way would the outsider, jingoistic, truth-telling, free-market-loving Sun News ask for a handout from hard-working Canadians” What changed Sun New Network?
