NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair lashed out at evangelical Christian groups Monday, accusing them of going “completely against” Canadian values and law with their beliefs about homosexuality.
Mulcair’s anger spilled over when reporters asked about Crossroads Relief and Development – a group that’s received $389,000 from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to build wells and provide clean water to 11,000 people Uganda.

What is not mentioned is that CIDA grants are usually are matching grants-meaning CIDA will only give to the degree that charity receiving the grant raises in support from their own donors.
Typically leftist socialist subversion tactics-target and then neutralize by any means available, including pathetic and far fetched attempts at guilt by association that will only be swallowed by the extremely gullible or those who’ve been sufficiently processed and programmed to believe whatever their comrades in hate whisper in their ears.
These socialist God haters truly believe that it’s better for Ugandans to die a painful slow death from poor water and sanitation, lack of HIV testing, and nutrition than to have a Christian hand provide a better standard of living to the gay, straight and Muslim Ugandans. Not surprised in the least. Better women die from HIV and leave their children motherless than accept help from the evil Christians.
Well what do you know-it is a matching grant structure. CIDA is granting Crossroads three dollars for every one dollar that Crossroad raises.

I should donate my money if I think it is such a worthwhile expenditure…YOU don’t want to kick in anything, then YOU avoid paying YOUR taxes…Posted by: Jamie MacMaster
yes you should,
and
One-third of Canadian adults pay no income taxes, they’re too poor.
No, perverts like young boys. Benedict XVI got rid of them. You’re welcome.
Is anyone going after deadly Islamic attitudes towards homosexuals rather than evangelical Christian attitudes that just plain don’t espouse homosexuality but will help the poor regardless?
Umhh, excuse me Tommy Mulclair, the “homophobic”, “racist”, “fundamentalist”, Harper government is already on one issue at least – http://www.lifesitenews.com/mobile/news/canadian-gvmt-halts-overseas-funding-to-christian-group-over-beliefs-on-hom
“Canadian values” is an anti-concept that really means “left-wing dogma”.
Until the 1960s, a free enterprise economy was at the forefront of Canadian values. But the leftists ran roughshod over that one.
Don’t most Muslim groups share Christian evangelicals’ views on homosexuality? Will Ticked-off Tommy lash out at them too? Or will he give them a pass while continuing to wallow in his hypocrisy?
He’s as queer as a three-dollar bill.
I mean to say, Mulcair’s handling of this issue is “queer as a three-dollar bill”. Obviously he’s not literally ‘queer’ (not that there would be anything wrong with that even if he were).
Here’s some really good commentary on the issue: http://www.cardus.ca/blog/2013/02/religion-and-realism-in-canadian-foreign-policy.
As a Canadian who also has values, fags or a pride parade are not part of my values nor anyone else I know of. Loud and proud (of what?) is not a Canadian value but rather a tribute to political correctness and the constant decline in moral standards. I hope the Evangelists stand their ground and tell Mulcair to pound sand.
“One-third of Canadian adults pay no income taxes, they’re too poor…”
Maybeybe they’re poor because of a host of different reasons. Some lack the physical and mental abilitues to enrich themselves; some are ignorant and uneducated; and some are just plain lazy and useless.
But we, collectively, take care of them all, don’t we? I have no ability to make any distinction with my tax dollar. I can’t say “put the welfare portion of my tax-dollars to this guy, because it’s not his fault – but screw that guy, he created his own mess.”
Perhaps that’s a pity.
Las and NME666,
You really don’t have a clue about what it is that Christians actually believe, or at least are lead to believe by the Word.
Your world views of Christianity are media biased, leftist-wording which match almost identically with Tommy.
But being a believer in free will, you have the right to speak your mind, but when you do, you also have to be able to take the critiques of your words.
When Christian organizations go into regions and communities their mandate is always to take the “Good News” = “Gospel” with them. We are problem solvers, like drinking water issues, medical schools and hospitals, learning centers, disease prevention…I could go on. But we also have solutions to solve the problems within the human condition. We have a road map to those solutions, a guide book of how-to’s and what-to’s and when-to’s…which also help society as a whole.
The world you live in is a direct result of Judeo-Christian values and morals being talked about, understood, believed and acted upon. Take them away and you have backwater superstitious tribalism which is brutal and reactionary at a base level.
I would tend to agree with you regarding the stopping of funding for foreign aid, but when those groups are going and giving a cup of clean water and stopping the torturous death of starvation, I have to say that the picking of the lesser of evils will err on the side of preserving a life, in Jesus name.
Most charity organizations are Christian based. Most atheist based institutions have no charity, other than if they can manipulate the population to proselytize their particular belief system.
Your version of what the perfect or attempt at a near perfect society would look much like the Soviet or Chicom society. Death to the dissenters, because your value system has no logical or long-term basis for changing humanity for the better.
Just like Tommy’s!!!
A Tale of Two Tommies:
In 1924, the 19-year-old (Tommy) Douglas enrolled at Brandon College, a Baptist school affiliated with McMaster University, to finish high school and study theology. During his six years at the College, he was influenced by the Social Gospel movement, which combined Christian principles with social reform…

Progress at work….in the most regressive sense.
I assume angry Tom figures lying, cheating and stealing, all sins, are Canadian values?
These seem to be the only “values” he encourages.
