Taking the long view, it is comforting to know – having read copious books on several former presidents – that barely a minute of Obama and his cabinet members activities goes unrecorded. In the years to come we will learn the truth about him (and them). And I am also confident that it will not be pretty – that it will devastate what he wants to be his legacy and his legend.
But he had a responsibility to be involved. He’s head of the military. He cannot delegate these decisions as he apparently, according to Panetta, did.

The contrasts between whacking Osama Bin Laden and Benghazi are stark.
For whacking a hasbeen terrorist afraid to come out of his Pakistani Pavilion, its all hands on deck, photo op city, throw the Dentist and Seal Team to the wolves.
For defending an ambassador and his fellow americans from attack, its all hands sat on, delay. waffle and run away, then throw the underlings to the wolves.
Small wonder suicides are at an all time high within the ranks, better to kill yourself before your commander deserts you under fire?
Obama Bin Lying is running true to form, next his admin will blame Bush for the Libyan debacle.

If Stevens was a pointman for a gun-running scheme Obama authorised, the American electorate should be very concerned when the disintegrating Islamic world drags them or their allies in.
